I my an actual video for the first time in like a year!
You ever sent a message to the wrong person but the message still makes sense to the recipient?
Is it wrong I think you kinda look like PIEGUYRULZ irl?
Think whatever you want mate.
I’m always interested in having proper discussion online about things I’m really passionate about, and Doctor Who is certainly one of those things. So this person’s comment excited me when I first saw them.
Bit annoying to have to go look up what they had to say. But this channel doesn’t have a that big a following, so it wasn’t too hard to find their comments. But what I found was disappointing.
Their only comment on the Rosa review was them saying “hey why did you delete my comment?” So clearly I couldn’t respond to that. Their Demons of the Punjab comment was nice a long and had the good thread of responses, but only two comments from this person and they were both a single sentence. Doesn’t spark much of a discussion or suggest they really want to defend what they have said.
I did however respond to their comment on It Takes you Away. What they had to say was quite interesting and I was excited to what they had to say in response…it’s been two days and I’ve not heard back from them.
Why would you go round saying you were happy to defend what you have to say, and then just ignore people’s responses?
I’m looking back at their “if you’re that keen” remark on their second comment. It almost sounds sarcastic, like they can’t understand why I’d want to know what they said. But then right after that they make quite an emphatic statement about defending what they said. So this is puzzling to me.

I’m now an Ashens Patron!
This right here sums up perfectly what I don't get about the Mabel haters.
So simply because her actions are technically bad, that's a game breaker for you? You just can't enjoy the experience of any work of fiction where the main character isn't some kind of perfect angle that never does anything wrong?
Exchanges with co-workers I don’t get
My thoughts are expressed in italics.
These all really happened to me!
Me (to supervisor): There’s a delivery for you.
Supervisor (5 mins later): Is there a delivery here?
Me: Yeah I said that like 5 mins ago
Supervisor: Well that’s because I didn’t hear you.
Yeah no shit
Co-Worker: can you ask (supervisor name) if he wants me to put the delivery for Friday through.
:I ask and he says no:
Me: No he doesn’t
Co-Worker: Doesn’t what?
Me: He doesn’t want you to put the delivery through.
Co-Worker: What delivery?
Me: The one on Friday.
Co-Worker: Yeah I know that
Then why did you fucking ask?
Co-Worker: Do you want to do me a favour?
Me: Not really.
Co-Worker: Don’t be like that.
So weren’t really giving me a choice there were you?
Head of another department: Remember you need to (extra job no one told me about) now.
Me: Oh do I? I didn’t know that.
Head: Oh well I don’t know either. Someone needs to do it.
Yeah you don’t care if it my job or not, just as long as you don’t have to do it.
Co-worker: I wasn’t happy on Friday (it’s now Tuesday) when I had to (a thing that is part of their job).
Me: Umm...okay? I wasn’t in Friday.
Co-Worker: I know but you were I before that. So you need to keep an eye on things.
They waited three days to moan at me about having to do their job. They are also moaning about me not doing something they themselves didn’t want to do.
:People are in my way:
Me: Excuse me guys!
Co-worker: We’re serving here.
Me: I know that, but you can still move out of the way.
:later my supervisor takes me aside:
Supervisor: Some of them say you are being rude while they are trying to serve.
Me: Rude? I said excuse me!
Supervisor: The way you said it was rude.
Me: How is saying excuse me rude? Besides I just said it normally.
Supervisor: I don’t know that’s just what they said.
Maybe these are things you should have asked them before assuming I was the one in the wrong.
You really need to hear both sides of a story before deciding who to have a go at.
This show ran for three seasons on the Disney channel from 2000 to 2003. I remember being in my early teens seeing on CBBC on Sunday mornings. I remember thinking this was a bad show at the time, and having found a few episodes online, I still think it now.
The first problem for me is the tone of the show is way too juvenile for the age of the main characters. Louis (played by a young Shia LaBeouf) is in his early teens and Ren (played by Christy Romano who was also the voice of Kim Possible) is a couple of years older. Yet they both act like kids half that age, they spend large parts of episodes acting silly or coming up with absurd plans to get out of a scrape. In one episode I saw, Ren doesn’t know what to say to a boy she likes, not the kind of problem an attractive 16-year-old girl should have. In another, she learns the lesson that it’s okay to have more than one best friend, something I think I worked out when I was about 8. It doesn’t help that even the adults in this show act like kids a lot of the time, the dad spends a lot of time showing off and the mom getting excited about small things.

So another common response I get on my videos about Mabel, is that the fact her actions advancing the plot, doesn’t excuse them. This to some extent is a fair point, but my point was more about the fact we don’t have a show without Mabel doing these things.
I do get how it is hard to root for a character that isn’t a good person, if you are constantly being made aware of how bad the things those characters are doing. But if the person writing the characters is skilled enough they can find a way to make those actions somewhat understandable and almost make us want to see them doing those bad things just to see if it pays off, then that by extention makes those actions excusable. Think about it, have you ever needed money and just wished you could rob a bank, have you ever like someone that already taken and wanted to convince them to run away with you? But we know we can’t do these things because they are completely immoral. However the world of fiction gives us the freedom to see characters do those things.
This is why I find talking to people about Mabel on these videos frustrating.
I’m pretty sure that highlighted part of the first one is just something they’ve made up (please correct me if I’m wrong, but I certainly don’t remember it).
Second one seems very double standard to me. So being sad isn’t an excuse, but being clumpy and silly is?!
A most frustating comment section.
I funny exchange I saw in an NFL Facebook group. Just to be clear I’ve covered up these two user’s names on Facebook in red for one person and black for the other.
Ali with an I is back, and she’s not the mom of Tory with a Y.

Lot of heavy character stuff there.
What the fuck does this mean? I thought maybe they meant soft answer, but that doesn’t really fit with the context because I was responding to a fairly calmly presented video.
If anyone can explain what they mean by “solf response” please let me know.
