The Bubble Daddy Soap Company

I'm finally getting around to writing one of these posts. It occurs to me that writing a blog is a good way to let you all get to know me. I'm working on that. I don't want to run a faceless company that just pumps out product. I'm a real person, and the reason for starting the company in the first place was to provide an outlet for a hobby I'd developed. Soap making takes up a lot of space, and for many of us soapers the only way to lessen that issue is by either giving the soap away or selling it. At least selling it gives me a way to pay for the hobby. Two birds with one stone. That being said, now that I have started a business, I've committed myself to putting out the best product that I can on a consistent basis, which brings me to bath bombs. Bath bombs are lovely. They make bath time relaxing. There are pretty colors, skin loving ingredients, and intoxicating scents. Bath bombs are also, occasionally, a real PITA to make. There are so many factors that seemingly can't be controlled for. Some people insist you can only make bath bombs on days where the humidity is below 50%. That's not always true. The mix can't be too wet or too dry. If it's too wet it won't hold together; if it's too dry (surprise) it also won't hold together. Sometimes they float, sometimes they don't. Some batches harden faster than others. On top of that, they're more expensive to make and have a much shorter shelf life than a bar of soap. Then there's using manual pressing versus machine pressing (I've done both), which introduces a whole new mess of problems. As you can probably gather, Today I made a batch of bath bombs that didn't want to behave. I adapted, I rolled with it, and they eventually came out great, but it was an ordeal to get them there.
