Revenge or love.
The oracle had given you her advice and said it plain as day. They were your two options – Take revenge for your murdered coven and possibly bring death upon everyone here, or, stay and find your fated love.
For a vampire to find their mate, living side by side for the rest of eternity can be a rarity, and yet, something most vampires strive to find.
You had seen your sister, Rayla, with her fated love, Seokjin, the way they were so involved with each other – he doted on her and she adored him. It was something straight out of a fairy tale, which had quickly turned into your horror story.
Remembering the two of them hurts your heart, like a stake driving through it and splitting it in two. You wished for nothing more than for them to be beside you again, the mothering way your sister had about her, and Jin's sense of humour that had you in hysterics most days. You would never hear another lame joke of his or be comforted by your sister's embrace. Tears prick at your eyes, but you quickly blink them away, replacing the sadness with rage as your hands ball into fists at your sides.
The images of your coven burning and trapped inside, the feeling of helplessness as you'd found them too late, looking in from the outside, burn behind your eyelids. How can you move on when it's still so fresh, when the scene plays out for you all day, every day? The oracle has to be wrong. There must be a way you can get to have both. Perhaps you can find who did this and make them pay, then come back and find your love. Why was that not an option on the table?
The oracle had seen you in her visions long before you entered her building, you are sure of it. The familiarity in her stare when you walked in, the sadness in her eyes before you told her anything, you have no doubts she was expecting you.
You're unsure if that unnerved you or brought you comfort, never having encountered an oracle before. But Rayla had always insisted, if anything happened to her or the coven, to go to the oracle, and so you had.
But now, you have a choice to make, and with the rage and grief that still courses through you, it feels like an impossible decision to make. How can you move on from losing everyone you love? How are you supposed to forget about finding out who took them from you?
You need revenge, it's all you can think about as you sit in the covered courtyard of this new coven. You look around at everyone walking about freely in the shade, even in the late afternoon before the sun has set.
Could you condemn them all to death for your need for revenge? You know the answer to that, you can't. But how can you move past it?
They say grief comes in stages, and you seem to have skipped denial and gone straight to anger. You can feel it lighting your veins, powering your body. All you want to do is kick and scream and pull someone apart with your bare hands, nails clawing at skin, teeth ripping through flesh. Fingernails dig into your palms, making you bleed, seeing the scarlet crescent moons, you take a deep breath and decide to occupy yourself with something else. But as you uncross your legs, about to stand, your eyes notice someone across the courtyard. Something about him renders you speechless, the shoulder-length blonde hair blowing softly in the breeze, his flawless skin that looks as soft as satin, or maybe his kind eyes as he surveys the courtyard, and for a brief moment it provides you a welcome distraction from your chaotic thoughts and decision-making.
His gaze meets yours and you freeze, but even if you wanted to look away from his intense stare, you couldn't. His soft and open stare pulls you in, deeper and deeper, until you feel like you're drowning in it, too far out of your depth and struggling to stay afloat. Only you didn't want to be saved, you wanted to go deeper.
Other members of the coven move quickly across the stone path, but you both remain, as if time has stopped momentarily just for the two of you.
His full lips stretch into a shy smile, breaking eye contact and looking down at his feet, giving you a moment of respite before meeting your gaze again. His dark, piercing eyes, now crescent moons, accompany the purest smile you've seen on a vampire. He almost takes your breath away, your heart picking up pace from its usual slow, featherlight beats, as you watch the way he's watching you. It feels as though you're the only other person on the whole grounds with the look of wonder on his face. He takes a step towards you and your breath catches in your throat, but before he can continue closing the space between you, someone he seems familiar with steps into your path, shattering the moment into tiny shards of glass and sending them flying along on the breeze.
They drag him off towards the main entrance, and disappointment lands heavy in your stomach and settles like a rock. With a longing glance back in your direction, he follows them, leaving you alone with your thoughts once more.
And just like that, the rage you felt comes hurdling back like a slap on the face, sharp, hard and unexpected. It was a nice moment of peace, no matter how brief, one you will surely think about all night. As you head off to your room thinking about the handsome stranger you just encountered, and wondering what he would have said to you, given the chance.
*
The round moon sits high in the sky tonight, and something about it calls to you, pulls at your insides and makes you restless. Before you know it, you're walking through the woods, twigs snapping under your feet as you head towards the lake. The water sings to you like a siren, each gentle wave shimmering in the moonlight, inviting you in.
Pulling off your shoes, you walk to the water's edge and stand in the shallows. Your toes sink into the earth as the cold water laps at your ankles. Taking a deep breath, you tilt your face up to the moon, letting its light bathe you. It rejuvenates you and sates some of that rage you feel. It's as if the moon goddess has called you here herself to aid you in your troubles.
“What should I do?” you ask up to the black sky, endlessly stretching on. The many stars shine bright, sparkling like thousands of tiny jewels placed neatly above you.
A twig snaps behind you, causing your head to snap in its direction, fangs and claws out, ready to use them.
“Sorry, I'm sorry,” the man from the courtyard says, stepping out of the shadow with his hands up in surrender, “I mean you no harm, I assure you.”
Retracting your fangs, you relax your stance, assuming he's not a threat. He doesn't seem like one.
“I didn't mean to frighten you,” he says, with a voice so sweet it completely disarms you. “I saw you earlier, didn't I?”
You watch him as he takes careful steps towards you, stopping just short of the water.
“I'm Jimin,” he says, holding a hand out that you take a step forward to accept. As soon as they touch, you're surprised by the softness of his skin, so smooth you almost don't want to let go. An electric current passes through you and he jolts a little in surprise, apparently you're not the only one who felt it.
“Nyrie,” you respond, sounding more than a little dazed, even to your own ears.
“What a beautiful name,” he says quietly, almost to himself, before shaking his head and grinning. “You're new here.”
It's a statement rather than a question but you nod, regardless, as you take a few steps over to a nearby fallen tree and take a seat.
Hesitantly, he follows. “May I?” he asks, pointing at the space on the log beside you. Nodding, you shift slightly to give him space and as he takes a seat, your arms touch once more, the current returning in full force. It's so powerful you can barely think straight, everything in you is screaming, pulling you closer to him. Slowly, you peek across and find him already staring back at you with a look of the same bewilderment you feel. Shifting away slightly, so that you may breathe again, he clears his throat.
“What brings you to us?”
The question stills you, images of that burning building flash in your mind again, taunting you, but you swallow down the rage that rises like bile inside and push it away. Your hesitation is long enough that he starts to backpedal, eyebrows knitting together full of regret.
“I’m so sorry, that was entirely too personal for a first meeting, please forgive my manners, this is most unlike me,” he says, staring off at the lake in confusion. “Perhaps, I should go and leave you to it. I disturbed your night, I'm terribly sorry.”
He stands and walks quickly back towards the clearing he emerged from. Something swells inside you and escapes from your mouth before you can stop it, “No, wait.”
He pauses, turning slowly back to you, seeming unsure of the next words you're about to say. You didn't know this man and yet, he's a peaceful presence beside you. An enigma you wish to fathom.
“Stay,” you whisper, suddenly feeling a little self-conscious in the silence of the night.
His eyes search yours somewhat hesitantly before he nods and joins you back on the log.
You sit there a moment in silence, watching the lake and listening to it lapping up onto the earth, the ripples seem to chase you, getting higher and higher.
“Can I ask, what were you doing in the water?”
Snapping your attention back, his question catches you off guard, making you chuckle, realising how you must have looked to a complete stranger, standing in water staring up at the sky.
“It's something my sister and I used to do when we needed advice.” Looking over at him sheepishly, you find he's still watching you, his curious gaze even more intense now.
“You talk to the moon goddess?” he asks, and there's an undertone of shock that ordinarily would have made you want to shy away from this conversation but instead you nod. Since losing everything, caring about what people think of you is the least of your worries.
“Does she ever answer?” he asks with a sadness in his eyes you really want to explore. You're skating the surface with this man but something is telling you to dive in deeper.
Smiling, you stare up at the pale moon, recalling every time you've gone to her in the past, needing guidance and every time she's answered, in one way or another, to give you clarity. Looking at Jimin, wanting nothing more in this moment than to explore the depths of his dark orbs – like the black lake before you, mirroring the sky. You want to get lost in him, wanting to know him in ways you've not wanted to know anyone else, you can see she's answered you, even now.
“She always answers,” you say simply.
He's so focused on the moon you can see the tension in his body, as if preparing to dive in.
“You should try it, I can go and give you some privacy–”
“No,” he says quickly, reaching out to gently grab your hand, “please stay.”
The warmth of his digits as they envelope yours brings you such great comfort, tears prick at your eyes, and all you can do is nod in response, for fear that words would open the dam.
“Does it have to be in the water?” he asks, curious but unsure in his hesitant gaze across the lake.
“The water and the moon have a powerful connection, how else do you expect her to hear you?”
When you turn to him you're shocked to see your face only inches from his and judging by the way his eyes pop, so is he, and yet, neither of you move. It's as if a magnet is pulling the two of you together, it feels harder keeping your distance than it does being close to him, something very odd considering you know nothing about him.
His breath fans out across your face, drawing you in. Looking down at his full lips, so smooth and inviting, you can't help but lean in. What is it about this man that makes you lose all composure?
I hear you, moon goddess, I hear you. She can be so loud sometimes.
“So, why don't we go and talk to her?” you whisper, snapping him out of whatever thought he was lost in as he stared down at your lips, too. “How about a swim?”
Standing, you head to the water’s edge, looking back at him over your shoulder. He watches you with bewildering fascination but his mouth teases a mischievous smile, and it sends a wave of excitement to your core.
Slowly, you remove your clothing piece by piece and let it drop to the ground, your movements are teasing and deliberate, almost as if the moon goddess herself is controlling your every move. When your naked skin shines in the moonlight, you glance back, pleased to see it's having the desired effect with his stare focused on you as his teeth dig into his bottom lip.
“Are you coming?” you ask before walking into the water until it's deep enough for you to swim out a little way. By the time you turn back to him, he's already half undressed. His chiseled torso glows in the white light, highlighting each ripple of muscles along his arms and down his stomach. The view has your core fluttering with its own excitement. Turning back to the moon to give him some privacy, you listen as the water ripples as he swims to you.
“So, what should I do?” he asks quietly, his voice deep with a heat that makes your skin feel hot, even in the cold water.
“Ask her your question,” you say, spinning to face him.
He hesitates a moment, suddenly seeming unsure of what it is he wants to ask. “You asked her a question just before you saw me,” he says, fingers touching yours under the surface as you both tread water. “You asked what you should do…did she answer?”
His genuine curiosity is sweet and endearing but with a cheeky smile, you reply, “I told you, she always does, now it's your turn, unless you want me to go…?” You start to swim away. He grabs your hand and pulls you back towards him until your bodies touch and your mouths are barely an inch apart.
Something happens in that moment, you can't quite explain it, but that pull you've been resisting since he came to you tonight, you decide to stop fighting it. Under the white light of the goddess, you press your lips to his, and that electric current runs rampant through you, sending a heat with it that rivals the way the sun burns your skin. His arms wind around your waist, holding you flush against him, you can feel every muscle ripple as you move in the water, trying to stay afloat. The feel of his lips, soft like the inside of a rose petal, and the way he tastes is unlike anything you've had before, better than any blood. If you could live off of this moment forever, you would.
Unable to get enough as you explore each other's mouths, your hands find their way into his hair, gripping the blonde locks and holding him firm in your grasp.
His tongue darts out and begins a romantic dance with yours, swirling around yours like the movements in a rumba. You can barely breathe, and yet, you did not want to stop kissing him, the urgency to continue powers your lips.
Suddenly, twigs snap back at the shore and both your heads snap in the direction, only to see a frozen deer staring right back at you. Chuckling, you use this moment to breathe, as the deer leaps off into the trees.
“You are like no one I've ever met,” he says, eyes full of awe.
Your heart swells, feeling twice its size. “I was thinking the same thing.”
He tucks a stray strand of hair behind your ear, fingertip skating down your cheek, neck and chest, sending a train of goosebumps rippling along in its path.
“Didn't you have a question for the goddess?” you ask, remembering why you were here in the first place.
He looks at you, searching your eyes, still holding you firmly in his arms. “I don't think I need to anymore.”
Pressing your lips against his, this kiss is different, full of love and hope and a need that chokes you.
“Give me your hand,” he requests against your lips, and you oblige. He lifts his hand while holding yours and tilts your wrists up to the moonlight, it takes a moment but when you see it, your heart almost stops.
There on both your wrists, arewere the matching pearlescent marks of fated lovers.

Music box song: Into the sun
The silk of your wedding gown feels like a shroud, heavy and suffocating against your skin. You sit on the edge of the expansive king-sized bed in Kim Seokjin’s estate, the silence of the room punctuated only by the distant chime of a grandfather clock downstairs. You aren't a weeping willow; you are a wildflower forced into a porcelain vase, and you have no intention of wilting quietly.
The door clicks open. Seokjin enters, shedding his tuxedo jacket with a weary, practiced elegance. He doesn't look at you. He looks at his reflection in the mirror, loosening his tie. He is devastatingly handsome—wide shoulders, full lips, and eyes that hold the temperature of an Arctic winter.
At least that was a plus.
"The guest wing is through that door," he says, his voice a low, melodic rasp. He pauses, his gaze flickering toward the heavy mahogany door before returning to the mirror. "I trust you can find your way without an escort."
You let out a dry, hollow laugh. "An escort? I was expecting a warden, Seokjin. This feels almost like freedom, if you ignore the bars on the windows."
He doesn't even turn around. "Your things have already been moved. We will maintain appearances in public, but in this house, you will stay out of my way."
You stand up, the layers of tulle hissing against the floor.
"And if I don't?"
He pauses, his fingers still on the knot of his tie. He turns slowly, his expression one of pure, unadulterated exasperation. "I don’t have the patience for a petulant child tonight. You didn't want this marriage, and neither did I. Let’s not make it more taxing than it already is."
"A child?"
You walk toward him, tilting your head. You can smell him now—sandalwood, expensive scotch, and the metallic tang of something dangerous. "You’re the one hiding behind a 'stay out of my way' rule, Seokjin. Is the big, bad Mafia Don afraid of a little conversation? "
He lets out a sharp, dry laugh, stepping into your space until you’re forced to look up at him.
"I am afraid of wasting my time. Go to sleep. If you need something, tell the staff. Don't tell me."
He brushes past you, his shoulder clipping yours—not enough to hurt, but enough to dismiss. You watch him leave, a spark of defiance lighting up in your chest. If he wanted a quiet, obedient wife…
…he should have married a statue.
~~~~~~
Weeks bleed into a month. The Kim estate is a fortress of cold marble and high-tech security, but you make it your mission to turn it into a minefield for Seokjin’s composure.
He likes his breakfast in silence and you decide that 8:00 AM is the perfect time to play your favorite song at a volume that vibrates the crystal chandeliers.
It also didn’t help that you felt like singing along.
He likes his office off-limits.
You make a habit of "getting lost" and ending up in his leather armchair, swirling a lollipop with your red bottoms on his perfectly clean desk and staring at his ledgers until he catches you.
"What are you doing?" he snaps one Tuesday morning, finding you in the library, rearranging his first editions by the color of their spines rather than their historical significance.
"Organizing," you say brightly, flashing him a smile that doesn't reach your eyes. "The brown books were depressing. I think the reds look much more... aggressive. Like you."
“Since you are a big scary mafia guy.” you teased.
Seokjin pinches the bridge of his nose.
He looks like he hasn't slept in forty-eight hours. His shirt is unbuttoned at the collar, and his hair is uncharacteristically messy.
You were absolutely pestering him. More than usual.
"You are a nightmare," he mutters, finally dropping his hand from his face to fix you with a look of pure exhaustion. "A literal, waking nightmare sent specifically to test my sanity."
"Sanity is overrated in your line of work, don't you think?" you reply, leaning back against the mahogany desk. "Besides, a nightmare is just a dream you're too afraid to admit you're having."
"And you’re a grump. A literal, waking grump. Also, your tie is crooked. For someone so vain, you're slipping, Jin-nie."
His eyes flash at the nickname. He lunges forward, catching your wrist before you can reach for another book. His grip is firm, warm, and utterly commanding. "Do not call me that."
"Why? Does it remind you that you’re human? That you’re not just a machine that signs death warrants?" You lean in, your breath fanning across his jaw. You're poking the bear, waiting for the claws.
He stares down at you, his pupils blown wide. For a second, the coldness cracks, revealing a searing heat beneath.
"You think you’re so brave," he whispers, his voice dropping an octave.
"But you have no idea who you're playing with. Stop trying to find the man behind the mask. There is nothing there you want to see."
He drops your wrist as if it burned him and walks out, but for the first time, you see the tension in his shoulders—the way he clenches his fists. You’re getting to him.
~~~~
The gala for the Italian syndicate is a sea of sharks in designer suits. You are on Seokjin’s arm, wearing a dress the color of liquid gold that clings to every curve. You are the "Sunshine of the Kim Family," a role you play with a bratty, flirtatious edge that keeps Seokjin’s jaw locked tight all evening.
"Stop smiling at the Moretti boy," Seokjin hisses into your ear as you weave through the crowd. "He’s a snake."
"He’s a snake with very nice dimples," you retort, taking a sip of champagne. "Maybe I like snakes with dimples. I think it’s quite attractive."
Seokjin’s hand slides from your waist to the small of your back, his fingers digging into your skin. It’s the first time he’s touched you with such intent. "I am the only snake in this room you need to worry about."
‘I’m the only snake that matters in your world.”
Seokjin doesn’t wait for your reply.
He steers you through the throng of masked elite, his fingers like iron bands against your skin. Every time a man’s gaze lingers too long on the curve of your neckline or the slit of your gown, Seokjin’s eyes darken, his aura radiating a cold, predatory warning that clears a path through the opulent ballroom. He is a predator among scavengers, and he is making it very clear who the prize belongs to.
You were more than into it but there was no way in hell you were going to let Seokjin see that.
“You’re suffocating me,” you murmur, though a traitorous thrill races through your veins at his blatant display of territorialism.
“Good,” he grinds out, his voice a dangerous rumble near your ear.
“Then you’ll have no problem remembering who you are married to. Stay close,” he started.
His demeanor didn’t soften but there was a subtle shift.
“These people? They don’t see a woman; they see a weakness they can use against me.”
You looked around before looking back at Seokjin.
“I know. I know”
“I hope so.”
A sudden surge in the crowd, fueled by the arrival of the Moretti patriarch, forces a wedge between you. A waiter stumbling with a tray of crystal flutes creates a momentary chaotic barrier, and in the heartbeat it takes for Seokjin to navigate around the mess, you are swept toward the shadows of the marble pillars near the terrace. The warmth of his hand is gone, replaced by the sudden, biting chill of the night air—and the presence of someone who has been waiting for this exact lapse in security.
“YN? YN?” Seokjin said, looking around for you but you were nowhere to be found.
Seokjin’s heart sank six-feet-under once the crowd cleared and you still hadn’t come up.
“Maybe this is one of her little tricks again boss,” Namjoon started, holding his earpiece as he walked up the stairs.
“It would be the first time…” Yoongi mumbles looking through the ladies bathroom, dismissing the looks from the women coming in. “I can’t believe you have me looking in the fucking bathroom.”
Snickers could be heard through the earpiece but Seokjin didn’t find anything funny.
“I do not care if I send you the fucking moon,” his anger carried between the earpieces.
“Find my fucking wife.”
~~~~~
The night takes a turn when you find yourself cornered near the stone balustrade of the dimly lit terrace by a rival underboss, a man whose reputation for calculated cruelty precedes him in every dark corner of the syndicate.
He steps entirely too close, trapping you against the cold marble,
“Aren’t you just the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen,” he started, “What a man like Seokjin do to get someone as beautiful as youself?”
You crossed your arms and scoff.
“That’s between Seokjin and I.” you fire back. The man laughs as if you ticked something down in his soul.
“Aw that’s so cute. You really think you mean something to him? You think he’s going to come protect you? You’re just someone he needs to show off for his benefit.” his voice dripping with venomous amusement as he paints a picture of how quickly Seokjin will tire of you and toss you straight to the ravenous wolves.
“As soon as he gets whatever he wants from you, he’s going to throw you to the side like he does with everyone and everything else. He married you just as every Mafia boss does, for convenice. He’ll take you on trips, vacations just for a cover or an alibi and the moment you start to question, he’ll buy you the world until he no longer gives a fuck.”
“All this is a little act. I bet you hardly speak at home. I bet it’s a lonely live for you.” he finished with a knowing smirk.”
You stand your ground, refusing to let him see the tremor in your hands, but before you can snap back with a retort of your own, the very air in the space shifts violently, growing heavy, freezing cold, and deathly silent.
Seokjin materializes from the shadows like a wraith.
He doesn't yell, nor does he make a dramatic scene to alert the other guests; instead, he simply walks up with a terrifying, measured calm and places a heavy, implacable hand on the underboss's trembling shoulder. The look in Seokjin’s eyes isn't just "mean" anymore—it is purely, unadulteratedly lethal.
"I think you’ve forgotten your manners," Seokjin says, his voice deceptively smooth, like fine silk draped over a razor-sharp blade. "
This woman is not a 'position' to be discussed. She is my wife. And if you so much as breathe the same air as her again, I will personally burn your entire world down to the ash. Do you understand?"
The rival underboss instantly pales, nodding frantically as sweat breaks out on his forehead, before scurrying away into the crowd like a frightened animal.
Seokjin turns his gaze to you, his dark eyes still wild with a raw, predatory possessiveness that completely takes your breath away. Without a single word of explanation, he grabs your hand in a iron grip, dragging you away from the terrace and straight toward the private exit. He remains completely silent, a tense storm brewing around him, until you are both finally shielded by the tinted windows in the back of the darkened limousine.
"What was that?" you whisper into the tense darkness, your heart hammering frantically against your ribs as you look at his rigid profile.
"He touched you," Seokjin growls, his gaze fixed rigidly out the window as his chest heaves with suppressed rage. "He looked at you like you were something vulnerable, something he could just take from me. No one takes what is mine."
"Yours?" You let out a shaky laugh. "I thought I was just a 'taxing' requirement. An inconvenience."
He turns to you then, the streetlights flickering across his face.
"You are a nightmare. You are loud, you are irritating, and you have destroyed every bit of peace I had in this house."
He leans closer, his hand coming up to cup your jaw, his thumb dragging across your lower lip.
"And I would kill every man in that room before I let them lay a finger on you. You’ve crawled under my skin, and I hate it. I hate how much I want to keep you."
The angst that has been simmering between you for months finally boils over. You don't pull away. You lean into him, your hand finding the back of his neck.
"Then keep me, Seokjin. If you’re going to burn the world, at least let me watch the fire with you."
The weight of his promise hung in the air, thick and sweet like the expensive scotch he favored.
The man who had entered this room as a cold, calculating Don was gone, replaced by someone whose vulnerability was more dangerous than his anger.
"I won’t go anywhere, Jin," you whispered, the name feeling like a prayer on your lips.
"But if we’re going to walk into the sun, we should probably make sure we aren't followed by shadows."
His expression shifted, the softness hardening back into the mask of the Kim patriarch.
He sat up, the sheets pooling around his waist, exposing the jagged scar across his ribs—a permanent reminder of the life he led.
"Namjoon messaged. The Moretti patriarch isn't going to let the terrace incident slide. He sees my reaction as a declaration of war."
You sat up beside him, the gold silk of your discarded dress shimmering on the floor like a dead snake’s skin. The honeymoon period hadn't even lasted until dawn.
"Let him. He’s old and predictable. You’re neither”
Seokjin looked at you, a dark, hungry light returning to his eyes. He grabbed your hand, pressing your palm against his heart.
"They think you are my heel, YN. They think if they touch you, I’ll crumble. They don't realize that touching you is the only thing that makes me truly unstoppable."
The distant sound of a car engine approaching the estate's gates echoed through the heavy walls.
The fortress was waking up, and the peace of the night was being reclaimed by the chaos of the syndicate. Seokjin leaned in, his forehead resting against yours, his voice a low, lethal vibration.
"You really are a fucking, nightmare."
You chuckled.
“A good one at least?”
“A beautiful one.”
There was a moment of silnce before a snort could be heard, probably Jungkook’s, and several laughs and chuckles could be heard of his earpiece.
“That was sooooo corny, Hyung.” Jimin said.
“Yeah your not romantic at all.” Taehyung chuckled.
“I feel bad for Yn,” Namjoon said.
“If you are going to have a ‘romantic’ moment, probably turn the earpiece off.” Yooni complained.
Seokjin rolled his eyes but clearly amused.
“Let’s get out of here before my other nightmares start to haunt me.”
~~~~~
Back at the estate, the silence is gone, replaced by the frantic sound of heartbeats and heavy breathing. Seokjin doesn't lead you to the guest wing. He takes you to his room—the inner sanctum you were never supposed to enter.
He pins you against the door the moment it closes, his kiss desperate and hungry, a stark contrast to his usual calculated demeanor. It’s messy and raw, the slow burn finally exploding into a wildfire.
"I tried to stay away," he mutters against your skin, his hands roaming over the gold silk of your dress. "I tried to be the cold man everyone expects me to be. But you wouldn't let me. You just kept poking and prodding until there was nothing left but this."
"I told you," you gasp, your breath hitching as his lips find the sensitive pulse point on your neck. "I’m a nightmare. You should have listened when I warned you."
"I've always had a preference for the dark," he murmurs, his hands tightening on your waist.
"And yet you... you are the brightest thing I've ever seen in the middle of it."
"My nightmare," he corrects, his voice thick with a possessiveness that makes your toes curl.
The night is a blur of friction and discovery.
There is no more "mean" Seokjin, only a man who worships you with a terrifying intensity.
He touches you as if you’re the only thing keeping him grounded in a world of violence. In the quiet moments between the passion, he whispers things he would never say in the light of day—how he watched you from the shadows, how your laughter was the only thing that made the halls of this house feel less like a prison.
“I…I want you..” you whispered in his ear.
He didn't hesitate. He pushed you against the wall and pulled your legs around his waist. His cock was throbbing as he felt it brush up against your wet core, hardening more with every second that passed by.
"And I need you." He whispered as he looked into your eyes. You nodded and smiled at him before kissing his neck softly while grinding against his member with your cunt, moaning softly as his lips attached directly to your breast.
You were driving him up the wall. Feeling your cunt on his member drove him mad. You moaned as he sucked on your nipple. He groaned and lifted his head to look at you before holding you up with one hand while grabbing his member, guiding it across your clit.
You gasped as he pushed into you. He groaned and bit his lip, holding onto your waist tightly while slowly pushing in and out of you.
You moaned and held onto his shoulders as he continued to fuck you. "You feel so good, baby." He whispered into your ear. You whimpered out as he began to pound into you harder and faster. "You're doing so well for me Blossom. You're taking me so well."
He groaned out as he continued to fuck you. You moan and kiss his neck, "I love how good you feel inside of me." His eyes rolled back into the sockets when you said that. "Fuck!" He groaned out as he began to pound into you faster. You moaned and whimpered, holding onto his shoulders tightly while your pussy clenched around him tighter with every thrust of his cock inside of you.
Seokjin was close but he wasn't done. No.
He waited too long for this.
This was going to last all night.
He groaned out as he pushed into you harder and faster. You gasped for air, feeling his cock throb inside of your pussy while the water continued to hit both of your bodies. "Fuck! I'm gonna cum, I-I'm going to cum" you whine scratching his back, only turning him on more.
"Cum all you want...I'm not done with you" he smirked.
He continued to fuck you but his pace grew slower and deeper, his cock throbbing inside of you. That drove you over the edge "Fuck! I'm cumming!" You cried out as your pussy clenched around him tightly, feeling the waves of pleasure rush through your body. Seokjin’s pace slowed as he fucked his cum back into you. Not letting a single drop slip out. "More?" He looked into your eyes, full of desire.
He laid you down on the bed and looked at you with a knowing smirk.
“You owe me more, my beautiful nightmare.”
Before you could even speak he crashed his lips into yours, biting your bottom lip and pulling you on top of him. You straddled his hips and began to grind on his member while you kissed his neck, leaving all types of marks on his skin.
Seokjin didn't contain his moans even if he wanted to. You push him back with a smile on your face.
“No, you owe me" You smirked, pushing yourself directly on top of his member, letting a moan leave your lips.
Seokjin moaned as he held on to your hips while you grinded against him, feeling him stretching your already sensitive core even more, you weren't going to last long. He lifted his body and held you close to him, moving your hips against him while his moans flew out his mouth.
"There we go, baby. That's it. You're doing so good for me. T-take all of me." He groaned into your ear. "Cum with me"
You were at your wit's end. Moans were flying from both of your mouths as you held on to one another. A few moments more and you came first with Seokjin cumming shortly after.
"I like you, beautiful nightmare" Seokjin said panting before laying back trying to catch his breath. You were exhausted but you felt great. You laid on his chest holding him close, half asleep already.
"I like you to, i guess." You said softly before falling asleep.
Seokjin chuckled softly before kissing your head and falling asleep with you in his arms.
~~~~~~
As the sun begins to peek through the heavy velvet curtains, you’re tangled together in the sheets. The "Into the Sun" melody plays in your head—the idea of finally stepping out of the dark.
Seokjin pulls you closer, his chin resting on the top of your head. "They'll come for us eventually," he says, referring to the enemies, the business, the life they’ve been forced into. "The world I live in... it’s not kind to things as bright as you."
You shift, looking up at him, poking his chest with a playful finger. "Then we'll just have to be meaner than they are. Besides, you said it yourself—you’ll burn the world for me."
He smiles then—a real, genuine smile that reaches his eyes, transforming his face into something truly beautiful. He kisses your forehead, his grip tightening.
"Every last inch of it," he promises. "Just stay with me. Even if we have to walk straight into the sun."
You close your eyes, finally home in the arms of the man you were never supposed to love. The slow burn had been long and painful, but the fire? The fire was worth everything.
The penthouse was quiet. Not the uncomfortable silence of an empty home, but the peaceful kind that came with creating a safe space. A routine.
Morning sunlight spilled across polished hardwood floors, warming the edges of neatly stacked books and semi-watered monsteras with cascading phalaenopsis orchids tucked beside the windows.
Somewhere in the kitchen, a kettle clicked softly as it finished boiling.
You set your rose gold mug beneath the stream of freshly brewed coffee before walking back toward the bedroom.
Always Bean & Bean Coffee Roasters. Never anything less.
Everything already had its place.
Your passport rested beside your keys.
Your watch lay atop tomorrow's planner.
A Dior garment bag with its matching handbag hung neatly from the closet door.
Nothing was ever left to chance.
The bathroom mirror reflected the familiar sight of someone preparing for another ordinary morning.
At least...
As ordinary as your life allowed.
You reached into the small leather cosmetics pouch, which of course matched your Dior set, resting beside the sink.
The zipper opened with a quiet pull.
Lip liner.
Lipstick.
Gloss.
The motions came without thought now.
Years of repetition had turned them into muscle memory.
The familiar burgundy shade settled across your lips before you blotted it once against folded tissue, adding the smallest touch of gloss to the center.
Only then did you smile.
Not because of how it looked.
Because the routine was complete.
A knock interrupted the silence.
Three knocks.
Evenly spaced.
Right on time.
You already knew who it was.
~~~~~
You open the door.
A courier.
No words.
Just a matte-black envelope.
Then he leaves immediately. A small chuckle leaves your lips as you close the door.
You set the envelope on the island before pouring yourself another cup of coffee.
No rush. Nothing.
Because panic has never made anyone better at their job.
…And panic would only complicate things.
In fact you got dressed, dismissing the envelope altogether.
Inside...
One photograph.
One passport.
One plane ticket.
One destination.
Monaco.
You quietly exhale with a little tilt of your head.
"...It's been a while."
You flip to another page. Reading, rehearsing, planning.
Studying. Until..something catches your eye.
Your expression finally changes.
Just barely.
A tiny smile. A little amusement.
"Freelancers."
She closes the folder.
"...This should be interesting."
~~~~~
A floor-length black leather trench coat flowed behind you, its sleek finish catching the faintest hints of light like polished obsidian. Thick black fur framed the dramatic shawl collar and lined the oversized cuffs, softening the severe silhouette with an air of extravagant wealth.
The coat cinched tightly at your waist with a matching leather belt, sculpting an hourglass figure while allowing the skirt of the coat to fan gracefully around your legs as you stunted through the airport.
When the front parted with each stride, it revealed a dangerously short black dress that disappeared beneath the coat’s hem, leaving just enough exposed thigh to make the look feel intentional rather than accidental. Sheer black tights hugged her legs like smoke and her knee-high, glossy black patent leather, fitting like a second skin with pointed toes and slim stiletto heel. Dark cat eye glasses concealed your eyes and your hair spilled in long, glossy waves down your back and over one shoulder.
You commanded the room without trying and that’s what made you unstoppable.
“Must you be flashy everywhere you go, madam?” your driver asked as he escorted you to the jet. He had a small hint of amusement in his tone.
“If this is flashy, then you have a lot to learn.”
The flight to Monaco was brief, efficient but nevertheless comfortable. You spent it the way you spent most travel—quiet, analytical, reviewing floor plans of the casino that was to be the site of the night's objective. No nerves. No hesitation. Just the steady pulse of a job that needed doing.
All while enjoying a lemon drop martini.
When you arrived, the Mediterranean air was thick with the scent of salt and money. You moved through the terminal with the anonymity of a ghost, your luggage a single, sleek carry-on that hid tools far more specialized than simple clothes.
Dior, of course.
Your contact in the city had set up a temporary safe house: a suite overlooking the harbor. It was elegant, cold, and perfect. You stood on the balcony, watching the yachts bob in the water, knowing that somewhere out there, the 'Freelancers' were also arriving.
The file on your table was open to a grainy, black-and-white surveillance photo of the seven of them boarding their transport. A flicker of something crossed your face—not recognition, not quite—but a sharpness, a readiness for the game.
'Let's see if you're as good as the file says,' you whispered to the empty room.
~~~~~
The Mediterranean sun was beginning its descent, casting long, amber shadows across the harbor as you stepped out of the suite. The transition from the clinical silence of the safe house to the humming energy of Monaco was seamless. You moved with practiced ease to the parking garage, where a silver Audi—gray enough to be invisible, fast enough to be a weapon—awaited.
The drive to the outskirts was short. The private airfield sat nestled between the cliffs and the sea, its perimeter secured by layers of tech that most wouldn't notice. You pulled into a side hangar, the engine’s purr echoing against the corrugated steel. Waiting on a crate was a heavy, waterproof Pelican case.
You didn't need to open it to know what was inside: the customized comms, the bypass kits, and the dress that was still fashionable and tactical…for the most part.
“Ooo, I like this one. Hopefully this one doesn’t rip.”
Before touching the gear, you tapped a sequence into your watch. A soft, encrypted chime signaled the connection.
“Status,” a voice crackled—deep, devoid of inflection. Your handler.
“Gear secured. Proceeding to the Casino de Monte-Carlo at 20:00,” you replied, your voice matching the cold efficiency of the line.
“The Freelancers have touched down. We’ve tracked seven signatures at the Hotel de Paris. They aren’t hiding, which means they’re confident.”
You checked the seal on the case, a ghost of a smile playing on your lips. “Confidence is a vulnerability. Do we have a directive on engagement?”
“Observation only, unless the objective is compromised. Discretion is paramount. If they see you, the agency doesn’t exist. Do not let the noise of their reputation distract you from the signal.”
“Understood,” you said, severing the link. The silence of the hangar returned, heavier than before. You tossed the case into the trunk. The game was no longer theoretical.
Tonight, someone was leaving Monaco with the prize.
You had every intention of making sure it was you.

The world only knows what happens while the music is playing.
Jungkook sung the lyrics with pride from their recent comeback album, this was the first album the seven had presented for their fans in over two years.
And man did it feel good to be back.
The stadium was a living, breathing ocean of ARMY bombs pulsed in a synchronized rhythm of green to match the vibe of the song. A rhythmic heartbeat of light that transformed the darkness into a shimmering galaxy, something one BTS and ARMY alone could achieve.
The air was thick with anticipation, a static charge that made the hair on the back of people’s neck stand up. From the first bass drop from Hooligan to the rhythmic soothing of Animal, it wasn’t just noise, it was a physical force, a thunderous vibration that rattled your ribs and synchronized your pulse to the percussion. The volume was like a weightless blanket pressing against your skin.
On stage, the members were silhouettes against a blinding wall of LED pyrotechnics and laser beams that sliced through the haze on a 360 degree stage that left no room for mistakes.
The heat from the stage light and the collective breath of the crowd created a microclimate of pure intensity, sweat glistening like diamonds on their skin as they moved with a precision that defied gravity. Every elongated glace, sly smirk or confident wink catches the hearts of ARMY everywhere. But of course it wouldn't be BTS without them having some fun.
Jin laughs because Jungkook almost misses his cue.
Taehyung accidentally bumps shoulders with Jimin and they laugh mid-performance.
Hoseok improvises because the vibes on stage called for it and of course the members played along.
A blast of air sent a blizzard of silver confetti swirling into the rafters, catching the green glow and spinning like falling stars. Adrenaline surged through your veins, a dizzying, electric high that made every scream feel like a release. In this moment, under the kaleidoscope of strobes and the deafening roar of the fanchants, the rest of the world ceased to exist—there was only the music, the light, and the overwhelming power of the message the wanted everyone to receive.
The final chords of "Into the Sun" crashed through the stadium, a symphonic explosion that seemed to burn the very air. The stage was bathed in a searing, brilliant gold—not the chaotic strobes of earlier, but a steady, blinding radiance that felt like looking directly into the dawn. You could see the members, their chests heaving, sweat painting their skin, giving everything they had left to this final moment.
“Thank you ARMYYYY” the guys said sweetly before waving and blowing kisses.
The cheers.
The lights.
The silence.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The dressing room was quiet in the way only it could be after a sold-out show.
Yoongi and Seokjin eating some left over snacks.
Jungkook, Taehyung and Hoseok casually talking while drinking some water.
Jimin is removing washing his face and running his fingers through his hair in a failed attempt to soothe his raging headache that didn’t leave him before the concert.
“I still have that annoying headache. You think ARMY noticed I was off a bit?” Jimin asked with a hint of concern. He always wants to be perfect for ARMY.
Yoongi chuckles “They notice tattoos before we even reveal, of course they noticed.” Yoongi chuckled. “Don’t worry about it. You still looked good out there.”
Jimin smiled softly before resting his head on the vanity table.
The room went back to it comfortable state until a staff member walks in.
A black envelope slides across a dressing room table where Namjoon sat, reading his book.
“Monaco, wheels leave in 90 minutes.”
He turns to leave along with every staff member.
Yoongi and Seokjin continue to eat.
Jimin continues to rest his eyes.
The chatter between Jungkook, Taehyung and Hoseok remains light and youthful,
~~~~~
The was dark, the only light coming from the passing streetlamps that rhythmically swept over their faces.
It was a stark contrast to the blinding LEDs of the stadium just an hour ago.
No one spoke; the heavy silence was filled only by the low rumble of the engine and the soft, distracted hum coming from Taehyung. He was still vibrating on the frequency of the last song, Into The Sun, a low tuneless melody caught in his throat.
Jungkook shifted, his boots scraping against the floorboard. He slumped further into his seat, dropping his phone into his lap and removing his left airpod. His eyes fixed on the back of the driver’s head.
“I’m starving,” he muttered, the complaint lacking any real energy, just a flat statement of fact. Seokjin hummed in agreement.
“We need to eat,” Jin added, his voice raspy. The driver didn’t even turn his head, his gaze focused out the window, eyes glued to the road. “We can have it ready for you once we get to the jet.”
“What do you want? Don’t say burgers again.” Yoongi mumbled with his eyes closed and his head resting on the head rest. Jimin had fallen asleep on Yoongi’s shoulder but waking up immediately for the dinner debate. “Yeah, I’m tired of burgers too.” he added.
Groans and teeth sucking filled the air almost immediately.
“What do you mean you’re tired of burgers?” Taehyung looked genuinely offended.
“We’ve had burgers almost every night, if I see another one I might lose my mind.” Yoongi said, still in his relaxed state.
“What do you have in mind?” Hoseok said, shifting in his seat a little.
“How about Ramen?” Jimin said.
Even more grunts and groans filled the small area.
“Burgers are one thing but instant ramen is something I’m not interested in right now.” Namjoon said.
“Well it’s not like we can make proper ramen right now, we’re going to be in the air,” Jimin said, crossing his arms.
Jungkook began to rub his temples "I seriously don't care what we eat anymore. Somebody just order something before I lose it."
The van rolled on, just seven tired men in a metal box, trading complaints about dinner like it was just another night.
~~~~~~~~~
Stepping out of the van and greeting the few ARMYS that happened to be waiting on the outside alongside the flashing lenses of cameras was second nature to them. Even in their exhausted state, the transition from the quiet enclosure of the vehicle to the public eye happened in an instant, a synchronized shift into, for lack of a better term, performance mode.
Once again, they put their weariness aside to mirror the energy of the people who had waited hours just to catch a glimpse of them. Because they loved ARMY just that much.
Large loving smiles broke across their faces, bright enough to mask the fatigue etched around their eyes.
Finger hearts were raised toward the small crowd, small gestures of gratitude offered to the dedicated fans standing behind the security barriers.
And funny poses filled the hearts of ARMYS, providing familiar comfort while they continued their way through the glass doors and into the customs area.
Settled in the jet now, everyone munching on their decided dinner with light conversations. Namjoon pulls the black envelope out of his carry on bag.
The conversation faded naturally.
Taehyung stopped humming.
Jungkook leaned forward.
Even Yoongi slowed his eating.
Seven pairs of eyes settled on Namjoon.
He studies the papers, only commenting on little details.
“Highest bidder, private collector…” he rambles on.
He flips the page and an amused grin forms on his face.
“We’re not the only team.”
Silence.
“...Agency?” Hoseok asks, forgetting his food entirely.
Namjoon nods once. Jungkook immediately groans throwing his head back dramatically.
“You’ve got to be shitting me.” he says looking at Namjoon. “This is going to be a pain”
“Maybe this time she’ll actually say hello.” Taehyung said with a light chuckle.
“She shot your tire last time.” Yoongi said flatly.
“...maybe that was her way of saying hello.”
Namjoon continues to read the rest of the file, internalizing every detail to his memory until his eyes land on a single photo. A small smile lands on his lips.
ꔫ warnings: obsessive nature, obsessive nature, SMUT, fighting, Jimin is actually losing his mind, CHEATING (Jimin cheats but he REALLY regrets it :( ) , forgiveness is not going to come easy. JIMIN REALLY IS DOWN BAD FOR YOU. Failed pregnancy attempts mentioned. Taehyung isn't playing any games here. Rainbow baby mentioned.
ꔫ synopsis: You were supposed to surprise your husband with the news that you were finally pregnant after MONTHS of trying and failed attempts. It's supposed to be the happiest day of your lives...
Instead, you surprised him cheating.
Now Park Jimin is the man who ruined the happiest moment of your life—and the same man begging for a chance to prove he still deserves you.
But forgiveness isn’t simple when love and betrayal share the same breath.
The sound of the car door slamming echoed through the house like a gunshot.
Your entire body locked instantly.
The kitchen suddenly felt too small. Too warm. Too hard to breathe in.
Your stomach started to churn again. The baby was already taking charge and it’s only been a short time. You weren’t ready for this conversation. The thought of him standing in this kitchen made you sick.
You didn’t know what to say. You didn’t know what you wanted to hear. You didn’t know if there were words that he could say that could make you feel any better.
There were many conversations in your head that could take place and none of them made you feel better.
Taehyung’s jaw tightened as he glanced toward the front hallway while your friend’s grip around your hand instinctively tightened.
“He’s here,” she whispered softly.
Your stomach twisted violently.
A few seconds later—
The doorbell rang.
Once.
Then again.
Longer this time.
“Please open the door. Baby please. Open the door, Let me just explain everything.”
Desperate. Boy was he desperate. You could hear the panic in his voice, you imagined his tear stained cheeks and his quivering lip. The way his breath hitched or his heart pounding out of his chest.
You immediately shook your head, as if he could see you, panic flashing across your face.
“I can’t do this, I don’t think I can do this” you whispered quickly, your breathing becoming uneven again. “I can’t—I can’t look at him right now—”
“Hey.” Your friend crouched beside your chair immediately. “Breathe for me first, okay? Just breathe.”
But it felt impossible.
Because Jimin was on the other side of that door.
Jimin.
Your husband.
The same man who kissed your forehead before every doctor appointment.
The same man who stayed awake researching baby names at three in the morning.
The same man you caught with another woman in your bed.
“Y/n, listen,” Taehyung started, “He doesn’t get to call the shots. He doesn’t get to come in and demand anything from you, okay? If you want to stay here tonight, you absolutely can. But our only concern is you and your baby. He’s my friend but right now, I don’t care about how he feels.” Taehyung said, rubbing your back softly. “We have your back one thousand percent. You say stop, he’s going to stop. Even if I have to call the guys.” Taehyung said crouching beside his wife, rubbing your leg, platonically, of course.
The doorbell rang again.
Then knocking.
Harder this time. More frantic than before.
“Taehyung,” Jimin’s voice came muffled through the door, strained and desperate. “Please open the fucking door. I need to see her.”
You flinched instantly at the sound of his voice.
Taehyung noticed.
And his expression darkened immediately.
Without another word, he walked toward the front of the house.
You could hear the lock click open seconds later.
Silence.
Then—
“What the hell is wrong with you?”
Taehyung’s voice was low and dangerous.
You squeezed your eyes shut instantly.
“I know,” Jimin said hoarsely. “I know, just—where is she? Please.”
“You don’t get to storm in here demanding things right now.”
“I’m not demanding anything,” Jimin snapped before lowering his voice immediately. “Fuck—I’m sorry. I just need to see my wife. That’s it. I just need to see my wife. I need to put my eyes on her and look her face to face.”
Wife.
The word made your chest ache violently.
You heard shuffling near the doorway before heavy footsteps entered the house.
And then everything went still.
You looked up before you could stop yourself.
Jimin stood frozen near the entrance of the kitchen.
And he looked ruined.
His hair was disheveled like he’d been dragging his hands through it repeatedly. His freshly ash blonde now drenched from panic and the storm that’s starting outside. His hoodie sat half-zipped over a black undershirt, the jacket was falling off his shoulder, breathing unevenly like he’d sprinted through the city just to get here, knowing him, he probably would run through the city-no the world, just to get to you.
But it was his face that almost broke you.
He looked terrified. He WAS terrified.
His red-rimmed eyes found yours instantly and stayed there like he physically couldn’t look away. His chest, heaving as he stood before you. His cheeks were stained with his tears.
The look alone could make you forgive him..
“Baby…”
The word left him like a prayer.
Your throat tightened painfully.
For a second, nobody moved.
Then Jimin took one instinctive step toward you.
And you flinched.
It was small.
Barely noticeable.
But Jimin saw it and it crushed him.
The reaction hit him so hard he physically stopped walking.
Like someone had slammed something sharp directly into his chest.
His face crumpled almost immediately.
“Oh God…” he whispered. “Princess, I-”
The room suddenly felt unbearably quiet.
Your friend shifted protectively closer beside you while Taehyung remained standing near the kitchen entrance, watching Jimin carefully.
Jimin swallowed hard before speaking again.
“I’m sorry,” he said immediately, voice shaking. “I’m so fucking sorry.”
Fresh tears burned your eyes instantly.
“You don’t get to say that like it fixes anything,” you whispered.
“I know,” he answered quickly. Too quickly. “I know it doesn’t fix it—I know—”
“Then why?” your voice cracked suddenly. “Why would you do that to me?”
The pain in your voice visibly wrecked him.
Jimin looked like he couldn’t even stand inside his own body right now.
“I don’t know,” he admitted hoarsely, eyes glossy. “I swear to God I don’t even know what the fuck is wrong with me. You mean everything to me and I wouldn’t survive without you. I cannot begin to tell you what I was thinking, I have no excuses, nothing.”
You laughed bitterly through your tears.
“That’s supposed to make me feel better?”
“No,” he whispered immediately. “No, nothing about this is okay. Nothing.”
His eyes suddenly dropped lower.
Toward your stomach.
The movement was instinctive.
Reverent.
Heartbroken.
And when he looked back up at you again, his expression looked even more shattered somehow.
“You are carrying our baby,” he whispered like the realization was still destroying him in real time.
Your chest tightened violently.
“You didn’t know that when you touched her though. You didn’t even look at the box I left..for you” You words cracked.
That did it.
Jimin physically recoiled like you’d struck him.
“Fuck—” he choked out, dragging a shaking hand over his mouth.
Tears filled his eyes instantly.
“I know,” he whispered brokenly. “I know, baby, I know—”
“Stop calling me that right now. You don’t have the right to call me that.”
The sentence cut through the room immediately.
Jimin went completely silent.
And for the first time since arriving—
He looked scared of you.
“I don’t even know what to say or even how to make this right because I know I did the most terrible thing that you could do in a marriage and I know that I destroyed your trust in me-in us but Yn…I regret what I did. I-”
You cut him off, you didn’t mean to, but the words flew from your mouth faster than you wanted them to.
“Why’d you do this? Why would you do this to us?”
Jimin opened his mouth.
Then closed it again.
Because what explanation could possibly exist for something like this?
None that sounded good enough.
None that sounded human enough.
He thought of all the typical stuff that most probably would have said,
‘She didn’t mean anything,’
‘It was nothing to me,’
‘It just happened. I don’t know.’
‘I would take it back if I could.’ which he absolutely would but even that didn’t satisfy him.
He agreed with all of these excuses. She didn’t mean anything to him, he didn’t even remember her name. So it wasn’t meaningful. He didn’t plan on cheating; it wasn't something he planned for weeks by talking to different women on social media or even going places and seeking them out. It was something that just happened, as bad as that sounded.
Most of all, he would absolutely take it back if he could.
But all of it sounds like poor excuses to get out of the dog house.
You deserved the world, not the one he destroyed and tried to piece back together.
His chest rose unevenly as he stared at you, eyes full of panic and something even worse now—
Shame.
Deep, ugly shame.
“I don’t know how to explain this without sounding like the worst person alive,” he whispered hoarsely.
Your laugh cracked painfully through the kitchen.
“That’s because you are right now.”
The words visibly hit him.
But he nodded anyway.
Because he knew you were right.
“You are right. I’m the worst person ever to step foot in this room and… and I have no excuse,” he admitted quietly. “I don’t.”
“Then why?” you demanded again, tears slipping faster now. “Was I not enough for you? Did I not give you enough?”
Jimin’s head snapped up immediately.
“No.”
The answer came so fast it startled everyone in the room.
“No,” he repeated more firmly, stepping forward instinctively before stopping himself again. “Don’t ever say that.”
Your face twisted.
“How can’t I?”
“She had nothing to do with you,” Jimin said shakily. “Nothing. This wasn’t because of you. None of this had anything to do with you.”
“But you still touched her. You smiled at her with the same smile you gave me…you GIVE me…I might as well be the one on top of you.”
His breathing faltered instantly.
Fresh tears filled your eyes as well as his.
“You still let another woman into our home, into our bed.”
The last two words broke him.
Our bed.
Jimin looked physically ill again.
“I know,” he whispered, voice cracking hard. “I know and I can’t—I can’t fucking live with what I did to you.” He ran his hands through his hair roughly, a visual on how this was messing with him mentally. How everything he had was slipping away.
Taehyung’s jaw tightened from across the room while your friend rubbed slow circles against your back.
But your eyes never left Jimin’s.
“Did you even think about me?” you whispered. “At all?”
That question shattered him completely.
Because the horrifying truth?
In that moment—
No.
And realizing that now made him sick with himself.
Jimin dragged both hands through his hair one last time before looking at you again, completely wrecked.
“I wasn’t thinking,” he admitted brokenly. “And that’s what makes this so unforgivable.”
Silence swallowed the kitchen.
Then quietly:
“I would never intentionally hurt you.”
Your expression cracked instantly.
“But you did.”
You looked down at the floor shaking your head as you began to feel sick again but this time you couldn’t hold back.
Your breathing became uneven again.
Too fast.
Too shallow.
The room suddenly felt unbearably warm despite the chill still clinging to your skin from outside.
You pressed a trembling hand against your stomach instinctively as nausea rolled through you hard enough to make you wince.
Jimin noticed immediately.
His entire body tensed.
“Baby—”
“Don’t,” you whispered quickly. “Please”
But your voice sounded weak now.
Your friend crouched beside you instantly.
“Yn? Look at me.”
You tried.
You really tried.
But the room was starting to blur around the edges.
“I think I’m gonna be sick…”
The sentence barely left your mouth before Jimin moved automatically.
The reaction was immediate.
Instinctive.
Years of loving you overriding every other thought in his head.
He crossed the kitchen in seconds—
Only to stop abruptly when you recoiled again.
The look on his face shattered something in the room.
Because for the first time since he’d known you—
You looked afraid to let him touch you.
Jimin’s breathing staggered violently.
But despite it clearly killing him, he forced himself to stay where he was.
“Okay,” he whispered shakily. “Okay, I won’t touch you but please let me help…”
Your friend carefully guided you off the stool while Taehyung moved toward the sink for water.
“Slow breaths,” she murmured gently. “Come on, focus on me.”
Tears burned your eyes instantly.
“I’m trying,” you whispered helplessly.
Jimin looked completely frantic now.
“Do we need a doctor?” he asked immediately. “Should we call someone? Is the baby okay?”
The panic in his voice echoed through the kitchen. It came natural to him. He wasn’t sure if he was still a husband but at the end of the day, whether you liked it or not, he was an expecting father. The expecting father of your child.
He couldn’t help but to panic.
Your chest tightened painfully.
Because this was the man who once laid awake researching prenatal vitamins before you were even pregnant.
The man who kissed your stomach jokingly every month after another failed test.
The man who wanted this child more than anything.
And he ruined it.
Fresh tears spilled down your cheeks.
“You don’t get to care now,” you whispered brokenly.
The words hit Jimin so hard he physically flinched.
“Please don’t say that,” he whispered. “I’ll always care about our child.”
“Why not?” Your voice cracked. “You weren’t thinking about us earlier.”
Jimin squeezed his eyes shut immediately like the sentence physically hurt.
“I know,” he choked out. “Fuck—I know, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care.”
Taehyung returned quietly with water while your friend rubbed soothing circles against your back.
But Jimin couldn’t stop staring at you.
At your trembling hands.
At the tears running down your face.
At the hand still protectively resting over your stomach.
And for the first time that entire night—
Real fear settled into his expression.
Not fear of losing the argument.
Not fear of Taehyung throwing him out.
Fear that the stress he caused could hurt you.
Or the baby. Especially after many months of trying. It would destroy him if anything happened to this miracle God gave him that he wasn’t too sure if he deserved.
“Oh God…” he whispered faintly to himself “let me fix this…”
“I’m sure you and the baby are fine. This might just be too much for you to handle right now. You need to rest.” Taehyung said softly, Jimin looked up again.
“I agree, I can take us home-”
“No. She’s going to lay down and rest. You two can talk more in the morning. We’re ending it now.” your friend said sternly before looking up at Taehyung for back up as she led you into their guest room.
Jimin felt defeated. He knew that this was going to be hard, but he didn’t think he’d have to fight against friends. Taehyung crossed his arms and turned to Jimin.
“Hyung…you need to rest too. Not because you deserve to but because you need to get your head straight if you want to save your marriage..”
He didn’t wait for Jimin to answer, he headed toward the guest room to check on you guys.
Jimin slept on the couch.
Not because anyone forced him.
Because he knew he didn’t deserve to be near you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morning sunlight filtered softly through the kitchen windows, far too gentle for how heavy everything still felt.
You barely slept.
Every time you closed your eyes, you saw it again.
Jimin’s face.
That woman.
The white box hitting the floor.
Your stomach turned uneasily as you stepped quietly into the kitchen wearing one of your friend’s oversized sweaters.
The house was silent.
Almost peaceful.
For half a second, you forgot.
Then you saw him.
Jimin sat alone at the kitchen island, still wearing yesterday’s clothes.
And he looked awful.
His hair was messy, dark circles sitting heavily beneath swollen eyes like he hadn’t slept for even a second. His phone rested abandoned near his hand beside an untouched cup of coffee that had long gone cold.
At the sound of your footsteps, his head lifted immediately.
His entire expression softened the second he saw you.
Like pure instinct.
“Hi,” he said quietly.
The word sounded careful.
Tentative.
You hated that your chest still reacted to his voice.
You didn’t answer right away.
Jimin noticed.
Of course he did.
His fingers tightened slightly around the mug in his hands before he slowly stood from the stool.
“I made tea,” he said softly. “The ginger kind you like when your stomach hurts.”
The sentence nearly broke you.
Because it was so normal.
So painfully normal.
Like he didn’t destroy your life less than twelve hours ago.
Your throat tightened as you looked away quickly.
“Thank you.”
It was polite.
Distant.
And somehow that hurt Jimin more than yelling ever could.
He swallowed hard before carefully pouring the tea into a mug anyway, adding honey without even asking because he already knew how you liked it.
The familiarity of it made your eyes sting instantly.
He slid the mug gently across the counter toward you.
But didn’t come closer. He knew better.
You noticed that too.
“You should eat something,” he murmured after a moment. “Especially right now.”
Your grip tightened around the warm mug.
Right now.
Pregnant.
The reality still didn’t feel real.
“I’m not hungry.”
Jimin’s jaw tightened subtly with concern.
“You need to try.”
The softness in his voice almost sounded pleading.
You looked up then for the first time that morning.
And immediately wished you hadn’t.
Because he looked devastated.
Not dramatic.
Not manipulative.
Just genuinely destroyed.
His eyes were bloodshot like he’d spent the entire night torturing himself with what happened.
Which… he probably had.
Silence stretched painfully between you.
Then quietly:
“Did you sleep at all?”
The question slipped out before you could stop it.
Jimin blinked slightly like he hadn’t expected you to ask him anything.
Then he gave a weak shake of his head.
“No.”
Your chest ached despite yourself.
You hated that it did.
Jimin noticed the expression on your face immediately and looked down.
“I know you probably hate me right now,” he whispered hoarsely.
You stared at the tea in your hands.
“I don’t know what I feel.”
That answer visibly shook him.
Because hatred?
Hatred still had emotion in it.
But uncertainty?
Distance?
That terrified him.
Jimin’s voice became quieter.
“I meant what I said last night.”
You looked at him carefully.
“I love you,” he whispered. “More than anything. I’m going to fix this. No matter how long it takes me. I’m not letting us slip from our fingers. Not when we have our rainbow baby growing inside of you…”
Fresh tears burned your eyes instantly. The mention of our rainbow baby and fixing it didn’t immediately comfort you but it reminded you of the pain he caused.
Because the worst part?
You still believed him.
And maybe that hurt more than the cheating itself.

ꔫ wc: 2.8k
ꔫ warnings: obsessive nature, obsessive nature, SMUT, quiet intimacy, toxic tenderness, "he notices things about her", artistic lonely man energy.
ꔫ synopsis: Being Kim Taehyung’s assistant should’ve been your first warning.
He’s emotionally unpredictable, impossible to read, and has a habit of pulling people into his orbit without realizing how hard they fall.
One moment he’s distant for days.
The next he’s asking if you’ve eaten, fixing your necklace clasp with quiet hands, and looking at you like he expects you to understand him better than anyone else.
Somewhere along the way, taking care of him stopped feeling like a job.
The first thing you noticed about Kim Taehyung is that he never walks into a room like he belongs there.
Which is strange considering every room bends around him anyway.
Staff members straighten when he passes.
Managers lower their voices.
Makeup artists hover nervously like they’re handling something delicate and unpredictable.
But Taehyung himself looks detached from all of it.
Black hoodie.
Messy dark hair tucked beneath a beanie.
Large headphones around his neck.
Expression unreadable.
He doesn’t greet anyone when he enters the studio.
Just walk straight past them.
You glance down at the clipboard in your hands.
Schedule changes. Wardrobe confirmations. Dinner reservation moved to eight.
Again.
You were new to the scene but you weren’t new to being an assistant to an idol.
Just an idol like Taehyung.
“Don’t take it personally if he ignores you,” one of the stylists murmurs beside you. “He’s weird at first.”
“At first?” you whisper.
She snorts.
Before you can ask what that means, movement catches your attention.
Taehyung stopped walking.
Halfway across the studio floor, he turns slightly.
His eyes land on you.
Not casually either.
Directly.
Like he knew exactly where you were the moment he walked in.
The room continues moving around him.
People talking.
Racks rolling across the floor.
Music playing softly overhead.
But for some reason it suddenly feels quiet.
You straighten awkwardly under the weight of his stare.
Then—
He walks toward you. Not the director. Not his manager.
You.
Your grip tightens around the clipboard as he stops in front of you.
Up close, he’s even harder to read.
Pretty in an unfair, almost disorienting way. But exhausted too. Like he hasn’t slept properly in days. With a schedule like this, that wasn’t hard to believe. His gaze flickers briefly to your company ID badge before returning to your face.
“You’re new.”
It isn’t a question.
You nod carefully. “Assistant coordinator.”
“Hm.”
That’s it.
Just a low hum like he’s thinking about something you aren’t part of yet.
Then unexpectedly:
“You seem calm.”
Your brows lift slightly. “...Thank you?”
Another long stare.
And for one strange second, you get the unsettling feeling he’s trying to memorize you.
Then he reaches up, gently pulls one side of his headphones off, and says:
“Come with me today.”
Your mouth parts.
“I— sorry?”
“My assistant quit.”
He says it casually.
Like commenting on the weather.
Behind you, someone nearly chokes.
“Did he just?” one makeup artist said, “She has no idea what she’s in for if she goes with him.” another said.
“You can organize things, right?” he asks.
You blink. “I mean… yes, but I’m assigned to—”
“You’ll do fine.”
And then—
before you can properly respond—
He turns and walks away expecting you to follow.
No explanation. No discussion. Just complete certainty.
The entire room goes silent.
One of the managers mutters:
“Oh no.” he mumbled, “Go ahead and find another assistant. This one isn’t going to last long.”
~~~~~~~
The company building is nearly empty by the time Taehyung finally finishes reviewing edits.
Your eyes burn from staring at schedules all day.
Taehyung had you running around like a chicken with your head cut off. When he wanted something, he wanted it done right then and there. There were no negotiations. He had you look over 100s of pictures he took for a popular magazine in Korea, then he had you look over the interview questions without prior knowledge of what he wanted to answer and wanted to refuse, then to top it all off when one of the managers messed up his coffee order he expected you to go get a new one.
Now you were staring at 100s of emails that wanted Taehyung to either promote their product, become a brand ambassador or just come do an interview with them. It wouldn’t be so bad if you didn’t have to also review BTS’ schedules as well to make sure they don’t clash with one another.
The members as a group and as individuals were in high demand. Reading these emails was like reading an encyclopedia.
Across the lounge, one of the managers gives you a sympathetic look while gathering her things.
“Good luck,” she whispers on her way out. You nod and wave before looking back down at your ipad.
You don’t even have the energy to ask what that means.
The door shuts behind her.
Silence settles over the room.
Taehyung is sprawled across the couch with his phone balanced lazily against his chest, long legs stretched out beneath the low table.
For the first time all day, he looks still.
Not restless.
Not distracted.
Just tired.
You glance at the clock.
11:43 PM.
Carefully, you close the ipad in your lap.
“I finished reorganizing tomorrow’s schedule,” you say quietly. “I also moved your fitting to the afternoon since the photographer requested—”
“Okay.”
You blink.
Okay?
That’s the fastest he’s answered anything all day.
You stand slowly, gathering papers into neat stacks.
“Well…” You hesitate awkwardly. “Goodnight, Taehyung-ssi.”
No response.
You look up.
He’s already looking at you.
That same steady stare from earlier.
Unnerving.
Focused.
Like he’s listening to something beyond your words.
Then:
“Did you eat today?”
Your fingers pause against the folders.
“…What?”
“You forgot.”
You stare at him.
“How would you know that?”
A small shrug.
“You get quieter when you’re hungry.”
Taehyung sits up slowly.
“Come eat.”
You glance toward the clock again. “It’s almost midnight.”
“Hm.”
“That’s your response?”
Another shrug.
“I don’t want to eat alone. Order some Japchae and get yourself whatever you want.”
He said tossing his phone on the table before you before heading to the bathroom to freshen up.
You paused for a second before taking his phone into your hands and ordering some food.
The weight of the phone in your hand felt heavier than it should have.
Your thumb hovered over the screen, the bright display illuminating the confusion you had been suppressing all day. It was just Japchae and a side dish—a simple late-night meal—yet this sudden pivot from the demanding, unpredictable idol to a man concerned about your appetite felt like a trap you weren't prepared for.
All day, he had treated you like a machine, a tool to fix his schedule and fetch his coffee, but now he was looking at you with that unsettling, focused intensity, noticing the subtle shifts in your mood that even you hadn't fully acknowledged.
You navigated the app with practiced efficiency, your mind racing faster than your fingers.
Was this part of the "unpredictability" the files had warned you about? One moment he was the eccentric artist who expected you to read his mind, and the next, he was the only person in the building who realized you hadn't eaten since dawn. Very unlike you.
The sound of the bathroom door clicking open startled you. Taehyung emerged, his messy dark hair now damp at the edges and the beanie gone, making him look younger and even more vulnerable than before. He didn't say anything at first, just walked over and reclaimed his spot on the couch, watching you with that same unreadable expression.
"Ordered?" he asked, his voice a low vibration in the quiet lounge.
You nodded, handing him back the phone while avoiding his gaze.
"It’ll be here in twenty minutes."
He hummed—that same low, private sound—and for a fleeting second, the space between you felt less like an idol and an assistant and more like two people lost in the same late-night silence.
Like promised, the food arrived without any problems. As Taehyung pulled the food from the bags he realized it was very little for two people. So little they didn’t even include a second pair of chopsticks.
“Did you get something for yourself?” he asked.
“I didn’t want anything too heavy so I got some Baechu” you said softly.
He didn’t respond. Instead he just sat down.
He took the japchae and divided it evenly between you and him. He reached over and grabbed his bag, pulling out a cutlery set his parents gifted him and the members long ago that he became accustomed to carrying around.
“Sit”
It wasn’t a question or a request.
You sat in front of the table on your knees while Taehyung sat with one leg propped up and his arm resting on his knee as he already started eating.
“Eat” he said in between chews before grabbing his phone to check the group chat he and the members shared.
“You didn’t have to share. I would have been okay until I got home-”
“You haven’t eaten all day. Neither have I, let’s work on that.”
That was the last thing he said before returning his attention back to his phone, fully expecting you to eat.
↝Ship(s): Kim Namjoon x reader & Kim Taehyung x reader
↝Genre: based on the game "We Happy Few"
↝Word count: 3.1k
↝Rating: 18+
↝Warnings: Language, alcohol, controlled environments, and drugs are heavily mentioned. Lots of secrets and lying :( Joon doesn't trust Taehyung. Taehyung doesn't care. more warnings as the chapters come!
↝Summary: Taehyung has been through a lot in his 27 years of living. He has had many heartbreaks. He's been lied to, cheated on, and disrespected time and time again. He realizes that he isn't the problem. Everyone else is. So he committed most of his twenties to finding a solution. And after years, he finally found it...and you are going to help him get it. No matter what.
A World of hurt. Pain. Chaos and lies. A place that Taehyung knew too well. From the time he was a young child, it's been constant heartbreak and despair. Once one storm came and went, another would roll in, not allowing him to take a breath, not even a second. And once he thought he had found a friend or a companion...it was always too good to be true. They always used him and took him for granted.
Most would fall into their pity and accept their fate. But to Taehyung, this was his opportunity to change the world around him...and create a new one.
He studied for years. Became an activist. Even went as far as becoming a general to gain some type of control over the dreadful town, an even more dreadful country. But even if he was well respected and never in need of a thing, it still wasn't bringing him happiness. People still found ways to hurt him and make him feel less than despite him working hard and being respectful. People don't think like him. They didn't have the capacity to do so.
And that's the problem.
After all these years he finally figured out, that it wasn't him. It was everyone else. No matter how much light you throw into the world, darkness is always bound to be present. He was the light and everyone around him was the darkness. He figured...
"If everyone thought as I do, or better yet not think at all, no one would be hurt. Pain and suffering can't possibly exist if you can't think. Or if you can't remember your past."
"A happy person with no history"
He decided to change the world as you knew it. He decided to create something that would erase life's "happy accidents". It would be like Bob Ross waking up one morning and creating his own world. It's perfect and since he was well respected and looked up to, it wasn't too hard for him to get everything he needed to begin his New World 2.0 project. After, all the tests, all the fails, and trials. He finally got his solution. One simple pill. One pill to solve life's biggest problems.
It was a mind-altering pill. Once consumed, you were met with a state of pure bliss. Nothing, not even a bounced check could bring you anger. You as well as every encounter on this pill became...
Unbelievably chipper.
Even your sight changed and the world around you became bright and shining. Glistening with happiness and peace. Few people reported that they saw happy fairies and such. You were in a complete bliss of LA LA land.
Amazing right?
Of course, it is. Who wouldn't want to be happy all the time? Who wouldn't want instant happiness with just one pill? Who would dare go against everything happy?
Who wouldn't want to forget their past?
"Finally..." Taehyung took his seat in front of a microscope in his pristine laboratory, something that he had put together once he graduated, he felt accomplished
You agreed with Taehyung's point of view. You thought that happiness is a choice but it shouldn't be something that's so hard to obtain. But as you continued to work alongside Taehyung, you started to see things that were a bit...off.
Many of the testers would forget simple things like locking their doors, and where they may have placed their keys. Some forgot how to tie their shoes or their shoes altogether. It wasn't too big of a concern but you did find it odd since this drug was only to change your mood, not alter your mind. Since the pill was still in its early stages, you thought with more work and research it would fix itself. But you still told Taehyung about it, just so he's aware.
"Everything is moving smoothly. The only slight issue would be that they're becoming forgetful. It's mainly small things like locking doors and tying shoes. It'll come back to them after a few moments but they forget every time after taking the pill. It's not a pressing matter but I thought I'd let you know." You said holding onto your clipboard as both you and Taehuyng observed the testers. He took your findings and read over them closely, followed by a smile.
"That does not concern me and it should concern you either. Some things are okay to forget...as long as they're happy darling. That's all we care about."
He handed you back your clipboard and gave you a reassuring smile, heading to the exit, leaving you to finish up your work before leaving yourself. You sighed and turned back to the tester to get a better observation. You saw something you hadn't realized before.
While on the pill, their pupils were significantly smaller than normal and they had a falsified smile plastered on their faces. The smile for sure didn't look genuine, it looked like a smile you would give to someone you didn't care for but you had to be kind. It kind of freaked you out a bit.
Nevertheless, they all reported being happy and joyful.
Maybe even too happy and joyful.
As long as they stayed in this phase, it wouldn't be too bad.
It's too late now to make any changes, in just a few weeks you will be presenting this supplement. You can't turn back.
~~~~~~~~~~~
20201320
Taehyung put out an ad offering money and the chance to be in a magazine that wanted to interview him and the testers to anyone who was willing to try out Joy. The conditions were simple.
All they had to do was show up and take the joy, then go on with their daily lives. Then they or their family would come and give reports on how they felt (and)or how they reacted to things.
Especially negative things.
You greeted the townies like you did every morning, handing their preferred flavor of joy. Strawberry, Chocolate, Vanilla, or on special occasions, mixed berries. Stopping at Clara, a newlywed and new mother, you smiled, "Hello Clara, how's the baby?" To your surprise, she frowns, rather confused.
"Baby? Who had a child beloved?" she asked genuinely causing you to let out a small laugh, thinking she was just pulling your leg.
"No seriously, what's it like being a mother? How's baby Liam?" you asked again handing her the supplement and finally seeing her confused face. "Mmm," she started.
"I think you have me mistaken for someone else love, I haven't got a child. I hardly have a spouse darling" She responded, taking the joy and leaving you dumbfounded.
You knew some things would be forgetful but a child? Especially a child she sees every single day? How could one forget a child especially one that they carried for nine months?
He is the smartest man in town. Too smart, some would say. He used to work with Taehyung until they had a little disagreement over the terms and agreements. Around the same time, Joon got an amazing offer to work on the council, so leaving wasn't that hard. Along with Kim Seokjin, they make the decisions according to the towns they are over. So, Namjoon will be the golden ticket to get this supplement passed.
Sadly, Namjoon didn't agree with the "joy" pill. He didn't like the fact of someone dictating someone's happiness, even if it promoted safer environments. He thought happiness should come to someone voluntarily, not forced. He hated that you were working on this project because he didn't want to step on your toes. He saw how proud you were. He knew you had good intentions but he knew Taehyung did not.
"How was work princess? Anything new?" He asked rubbing small circles against the middle of your back.
You hummed, "Work was the same as usual although something weird did occur today." Namjoon raised his eyebrow slightly before answering, "Like?"
"You know Mrs. Johnson is one of the 20 that we've pulled to try out Joy right? Well, today I asked her about her baby but she told me that she didn't have one. She even implied that she wasn't married. She seemed completely confused when I asked." You said wrapping your arm around Joonie's torso and holding onto him tightly. His hand slightly paused in the middle of your back as you continued.
"Is that right?"
"Mmm, yeah. Either she seriously lost her mind or she's an amazing actress."
"It's actually funny that you said that," Joon frowned, "I was talking to Ty'Rik earlier this afternoon and he told me Clara wasn't herself." You sat up a little, laying your chin gently on Joon's shoulder. "Yeah? What all did he say?"
"She's been rather forgetful," Joon continued. "She has no real grasp of reality. She's still her positive self but it's more overbearing. He could speak about something realistically, not so negative or positive and she'll become angry. "
You frowned and listened to your fiancé's words. "Is that a side effect?" He asked. You shook your head.
"Well yes and no. Being forgetful, yes, unfortunately, but being overly positive and offended when someone says something negative isn't. Joy is supposed to suppress those negative feelings, making them disappear altogether. Even if someone around you is being negative, it shouldn't have an effect on a person that's on Joy."
The wheels in Joon's head were turning. If he had any doubts about stopping this thing from being on the street. He didn't anymore. He didn't want to go against you nor did he want to discredit all the hard work you and Taehyung did, but day by day he was hearing more things about this Drug that didn't sit right with him. As much as he was proud of how far you've come, he couldn't risk the lives of the townies.
"Maybe this isn't a good idea, my love."
"It's still being worked on! It'll be perfected soon" You kissed your future husband.
The day of the presentation came and you were nervous. You and Taehyung had been perfecting this for a year and it all comes down to this. Of course, it still has its flaws still, but it was nothing that you couldn't fix. You were proud of this and you knew Taehyung was just as proud.
"Why should I make this...supplement a part of everyday living? Why can't we just leave it up for the townies to choose, whether or not they want to? It seems a little demanding"
Seokjin asked looking over the paperwork with Joon. Namjoon kept looking through the data, the reports, your notes, and Taehyungs. It didn't match up. Your notes were very similar to Taehyung's but very different from what you would tell him.
"Because this pill will not only keep the people of this town happy and content, it'll keep the crime rates down, no one will have to worry about their safety, their belongings. If everyone is happy and getting along, there won't be any need to worry. This will be the safest town on earth for children, women, and men alike! Who wouldn't want to live in peace? It's like living in Heaven before you die and you..."
Taehyung smiled and sat back in his chair before continuing, "You'll be the one man on this forsaken earth, That has 100 percent control over his people. Everyone, everyone, will be dying to know how you did it. How-"
"You speak of the townies as if they're puppets, in need of control. They are not." Joon interrupted.
Almost instantly, your eyes shot right at Joon's, pleading with him not to go any further. "I assure you, it's not like that," You said cheerfully, deeply hoping Joon would leave it where it was.
Taehyung chuckled, rubbing your shoulders. "No, no. Not puppets, that would be rude of me. I see the townies as people that need a bit more guidance." Joon adjusted himself in his chair.
"So shoving a mind-altering drug down their throat is the way to do it?"
"Mind-altering? That's insane, that would make me a monster. I don't want to change their mind, I want to change the way they think. Think of it as you going to a bar and having a drink with friends or a lovely night out with your stunning, beautiful wife, you know, Something fun but not all the memorable?" Taehyung smirked.
Your head snapped at Tae frowning. Joon opened his mouth to speak but Seokjin raised his hand and looked over at Joon. "I understand you are concerned Joon, People should have the choice if they choose to participate,"
Joon nodded. "However," Seokjin continued, "I think we should give it a test run, just to see how it goes. It shouldn't be too harmful How long does it take effect?"
"It's effective immediately. As soon as you take it, it induces happiness and euphoria, it shouldn't affect everyday life" you said, "It's just like taking a vitamin daily, or as needed."
Namjoon couldn't believe what he was hearing. He didn't want to step on your toes or anything but he couldn't believe you or Seokjin couldn't see through Taehyung's empty promises. Displeasure was all over his face, and he didn't care to hide it.
"You can't be serious? Mrs. Johnson forgot about her child and her husband. Is that not concerning enough?" Joon whispered to Sekojin.
Seokjin nodded before turning to Taehyung.
"It's my understanding that Mrs. Johnson has shown reports of extreme forgetfulness. Forgetting her young child and husband. What do you have to say for that?"
You were choked up. You didn't think Namjoon would go back to Seokjin and tell him what you've told him in confidence. Even Taehyung was taken by surprise but he couldn't let it show that long.
"Yes, that is true. Mrs. Johnson is a rare case. We're running a few tests to see if they are underlining effects that we've missed with the batch she had but I assure you, that the new batch does not have the same effect."
Seokjin turned to Namjoon and whispered "Listen, I say we give them a month, see how it works, and then allow the townies to decide if this is a great choice. Besides," he paused looking at you then back at Joon. "I don't think you want to upset the future wife"
"My fiancee's and I relationship has nothing to do with my decisions as a general on this council. So I would much prefer that we keep outside relationships, outside. Here, no matter friend or wife, the lives of the townies are my main concern."
Seokjin sighed and nodded. "I understand that."
Namjoon was stern. You of course meant a lot to him and he usually agrees with your mindset since it's a lot like his. But this is something he could never agree on, not even for his engagement. Not even for you.
Taehyung chuckled upon hearing Namjoon's statement to Seokjin. "That's too bad. I'd put my wife's well-being over everything..even the townies." Taehyung challenged.
"She is a townie. She's included"
"But she's firstly your wife than a simple townie"
"In here, as I stated, she's someone who's advertising something for the townies. So for now, none of that matters."
Joon turned the TV off as this was the 7th time he had seen the same commercial in the past hour. He couldn't believe that it was already being advertised like this when the meeting was only held a few mornings ago.
It had only been a few days since it became a temporary law that everyone had to take this daily supplement. Joon wasn't even going to attempt to take the supplement. He hadn't tried it and didn't plan on it.
He knew that pissed you off but he couldn't agree. He couldn't, not with all the side effects, the stories you told him, and from the meeting? He was positive there was a hidden agenda somewhere. Dropping the remote on the table he headed back to your home office, leaning on the door frame.
"Princess, are you sure this is really the best thing for the townies? You said it yourself, Clara Johnson forgot about her husband and her newborn baby, that's abnormal. What happens to them if they both take it? What happens to baby Liam?"
Joon asked genuinely concerned for the well-being of the helpless child.
You've been in this yelling match all day. You turned to Joon and sighed. He's been asking questions nonstop which was fine but it seems like no matter what answer you gave, it was never enough.
"She must have gotten a bad batch, I don't think anything to worry about. Quite frankly, Liam is going to have a safe place to live and play, he'll have a safe place to flourish. Like our children will."
You said setting down your papers and walking towards Joon, wrapping your arms around his torso.
"If we even have children. We don't even know if it's safe to take while pregnant. You said that there were some formulations that you weren't there for. And honestly, if it makes you forget stuff I don't think want you to take this either." He spat.
You sighed and ran your fingers through your hair, hanging your head back onto your shoulders, sighing loudly.
"You said you supported me and that what Tae and I were could be a great thing." You said.
"I did, but it's one thing to have it as a choice and to force it. You failed to mention that you both had plans to make this a law and force everyone but children to take this." You began to play with your fingers.
"We-well, I didn't necessarily know he was going to make it a law, I simply thought we were just getting it approved. I didn't have any intentions of going any further" You answered truthfully.
Joon's face fell. How is no one seeing the red flags he's been seeing?
"Baby," he started as he sat in front of you and gripped your hand. "Don't you see this as a problem? You're his partner and he didn't even tell you his plans? There is no telling what he’s doing behind your back"
You sighed. "Maybe it just slipped his mind or he told me and I just forgot baby. Joonie, I wouldn't do anything or make anything that would hurt this world, our future, our friends, and definitely not you." You said holding his hand.
"Please, just trust me..."
