I'm being told that it may be a good thing to have a pinned post so folks can know a little more about me, B!

I made this page so I could talk about music and to hopefully maybe find more people that care when I talk about music.

As for who I am, I am a 23 year old bi cis male who uses he/him pronouns.

I tend to talk about 90s music, though I was not alive for it when it was releasing, I did grow up listening to it and have a great fondness for it. If you have any song you might like me to talk about, send me a message about it. I'll give it a listen and tell you what I think! I may even include it in one of my posts.

Oddly enough this song gets me pumped up. The bass intro, the build up, and the payoff all get me to a point where I feel ready for anything.

The debut album of one of my favorite bands, this is a very strange album, with a lot of spoken word over interesting samples, drum beats, and upright bass. It scratches an itch for weird music and it does so very well. I'm a big fan of the bass in specific. Upright bass sounds so different from bass guitar and it makes for a sound I just can't get enough of. I am so happy I got to see this band live twice when they reformed. I hope they do more stuff together.

While not "Late Night Trains" specifically, I found this band ages ago because another song on this album, "Used Blood," was used on a GTA 5 radio station.

For some reason, after listening to the whole album, even after years of not listening to it, "Late Night Trains" remains in my brain. I had the Chorus stuck in my head and I had to search for the song again after forgetting the band and title of the song. When I found it again, that was a great feeling.

I have only just recently begun to listen to STP, and I started with this album. I think it was a good album to start off on because I quite enjoyed it. The vocals are what I expect from grunge, that being full of 90s angst. The instrumentals are really nice and I'd especially like to bring attention to the bass. It is present and not just in the background at all times, which makes me happy as a bassist.

While not one of the "big four" of grunge, that being Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains (all of which I will talk about on this page at some point) I definitely think Stone Temple Pilots should be in talks about the best grunge acts of the era.

Imagine my surprise earlier today when I stumble upon not only a new Red Vox song, but the promise of a second Red Vox album coming this year? I wasn't expecting it, but it is certainly a nice surprise, can't wait.

Genuinely one of the best albums to come out of the 2010s. This one takes you places. I'm a big fan of the vocals, and the instruments do not disappoint either. I am a huge fan of psychedelic rock, and blues being in the mix is exactly as incredible as I hoped it would be.

This song has been constantly stuck in my head since I first heard it a couple years ago.

The album it's on is really good, made by Matt Cameron of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, as well as John McBain of Monster Magnet. It also features Josh Homme of QotSA on specific songs, Teen Lambchop included.

One of my favorite albums ever. Greek band Psycada brings us a psych album that sounds like venturing into a jungle and looking at the wildlife.

Decided I'd choose a track from one of my favorite 90s albums. I'll probably talk about Shame in it's own daily album at some point, but for now, I'll just talk about My Fingers. this track has religious themes backed by a good bass line and genuinely interesting vocals and vocal effects. Very 90s.

The vocalist, Shawn Smith, and this band in general, are very underrated when it comes to the Grunge movement.

Alright. Something you should know about ol' B is that my favorite band ever is Blind Melon. While I'll certainly talk about the self titled album soon, I wanted to start with this one.

My favorite album from these guys rotates pretty often between this one and the self titled, as they were the only 2 released before the tragic death of their lead vocalist, Shannon Hoon. They released Nico after Shannon's death, and it does feature him, but, since he died before the album was completed, it is unfinished, and while I love it, the idea of what could have been simply makes me too sad to call it my favorite.

Every song on this album is a banger, and a lot of them are quite sad, given Shannon's battle with drug addiction and willingness to write about it in his songs.

New Life is especially heartbreaking, with the premise of the song being Shannon's hope that the birth of his daughter would give him the kick he needed to stay sober. Knowing what we know now, it's tragic.

"Me and Michael, solid as they come"

Ever have an uninteresting song? Apparently all you gotta do to fix it is make it gay, according to this song.

This song originated as a track called "Me and my girl," and MGMT, rightly so, figured this song was a little too boring, so they changed it to "Me and Michael" which made the song much more eye catching.

It's a really solid 80s-esque synth-pop song but it would not have the staying power in my mind that it has now if it were just "me and my girl"

Hadn't listened to this one in a while but I remembered liking it.

Wow did this one blow me away. Incredible instrumentals, vocals that have the perfect effects on them at all times. The bass is some of my favorites out there.

This album cover very much matches the ethereal nature of the songs the album contains.

Did you know this is actually a photograph? It is apparently some Christmas lights against a blue background that were shot with long exposure.

The blue and red look very nice together and the whispy lights remind me of long exposure shots of traffic where the lights are all over the place like this:

I chose this song in particular because it sounds like jingling keys and it makes my brain good (ADHD)

This album is a lazy summer in the form of music. The sounds of laying on a beach doing nothing in particular, just soaking in the sun, maybe having a drink. At least that's how I picture myself when listening to this album. If it were possible to relax in this heat, that's how I'd be, and this is the album I'd listen to.

Fun Fact! the title of this album, LAHS, refers to a common misspelling of the name of the band. Allah-Las > Allah-Lahs
