[She called out into the apartment for @ask-kyuthedollchild]

[She grinned, before pausing and pointing to Fukichi]

[Fukichi spoke in his booming voice with bright eyes. He cleared his throat]

Now, let’s go pick up Jouno, shall we?!

[Leading the group to the van that they normally used for operations, Fukichi drove them to the hospital. Almost within seconds of being there, Teruko had climbed out onto the roof with a megaphone to summon @ask-jouno]

He quickly changes form hospital clothes to his uniform and drags his feet out of the building. Giovanni tried to stop him, but got knocked off.

*Tachihara with the full Hunting Dog uniform almost falls down the stairs to join them as soon as he can.*

[Fukuchi grinned]

[She glared at Tachihara, leaning forwards to whisper in his ear]

[The vehicle came to a stop]

I needed this.

The onsen is going to be fun.

-

[ The pancakes arrive. Fukuzawa’s stack of mascarpone-chocolate delight looks like a masterpiece. He cannot wait to dig in. ]

[ He picks up his fork and knife, seemingly about to cut into the pancakes, but then pauses with a grimace on his face. ]

Hm. This won’t do.

…Mori-dono, please.

[ He gestures for Mori to give him some room, which the doctor does, and then draws the katana at his side. Without batting an eye, Fukuzawa silently slices into the stack, separating it into several astonishingly clean, bite-sized pieces. ]

There.

Fine. 

[He politely slices into his own delicious stack of pancakes, the whipped cream already melting off, fruit sliding down. He sticks a piece with his fork, slowly bringing it to his mouth. He pauses halfway, mischievous grin growing.]

Would you like a taste, Fukuzawa-kun~?

[He holds the ladden fork over to Fukuzawa, circling it around as if trying to entice a baby.]

[ Fukuzawa does not look up from his plate, where he is practically shoveling pieces of pancake into his mouth, no doubt in an attempt to minimize the time spent in Mori’s company. The American does not bother him nearly as much.

Fine~ Perhaps our third compatriot is more interested.

[He leans across the table, (”accidentally” shoving Fukuzawa, making him almost faceplant into his meal) making eyes at Fitzgerald. He points the fork at him, staring him dead in the eyes, a challenge clearly written across his expression.]

Suddenly, he lifts his head and looks Mori straight in the eye. ]

Sure.

[ Fitzgerald leans over and takes the bite of pancake into his mouth, chewing slowly, as if to savor the concoction. ]

Thank you, dear chap! It’s delicious.

No problem~

Mind if I…?

[Mori points a fork at Fitzgerald’s plate before quickly swiping a bite.] 

Delicious~

[Mori eats a bit of his own meal quietly, while Fukuzawa gobbles his food like a dying man and Fitzgerald dines like a Roman statue in a Build A Bear. 

Mori eats excruciatingly slowly. He cuts each piece at 1/10 speed and fully and completely chews every single bite. He makes a big show of putting his utensils down to sip his coffee, sighing in relief as the caffeine hits his bloodstream.

 Fukuzawa has finished at this point and is trying to flag the waitress down, to which Mori responds by stretching in delight of his meal and covering her view.]

On second thought, I will have some after all.

[ Without changing his expression, Fukuzawa leans over, picks up the remainder of Mori’s pancakes onto his own fork, clearing the plate, and then eats the entire thing in one, big bite. ]

You’re very kind.

Fukuzawa-dono… I guess I’ll have to order something else~

[When the waitress pulls up, Mori cuts off Fukuzawa and orders another round of pancakes for himself. She leaves with mild concern in her eyes.]

[ It is time for the last resort. ]

Mori-dono, please excuse me. I need to use the restroom.

Don’t fall in~

[Once Fukuzawa has scurried away, Mori slides back into the booth.]

And then there were two…

Good meal! Unfortunately, I have a meeting to get to, myself.

You know, I believe I have enough coupons for all of these pancake sets…

[ He scrolls through his phone for a few seconds. ]

[The waitress comes back with Mori’s second round of pancakes and performs the money/coupon transaction.]

You should go along; I’ll stay to finish up if you don’t mind~

[Finally, peace and quiet.]

Mori-dono, my apologies, something came up and I have to leave. Please accept this to cover my share.

[ Fukuzawa walks in and asks for a table for one. The restaurant is fairly empty, so the hostess takes him to a booth intended for four to give him more space. ]

Perfect.

Fukuzawa-dono? What a coincidence meeting you here~

[He slides into the booth, the same side of Fukuzawa, and scoots close to him on purpose, but pretends to not notice. He peers over at Fukuzawa’s menu pensively with a smirk.]

[ Fukuzawa looks like someone just told him his goldfish died. He sighs. ]

[ Fitzgerald walks up and slides into the same booth on the opposite side, grabbing a menu from the stand. ]

What are the chances…

[He sneaks another look at Fukuzawa’s menu.]

I’m having pancakes.

[ Fitzgerald quickly flips through the menu in his hand. ]

Ah, that’s right, my weekly coupon is only for the caramel-honey pancakes. Okay! All set.

Your couponing hobby bring you to this fateful meeting today, Fitzgerald-san? Otherwise, I have to say, I’ve not seen you around much.

[Mori dramatically covers his face, leaning over the table.]

Not that I ever have a break long enough from the chaos that is work to see many people… 

[ Fukuzawa gives Mori a look, then turns to the waitress, who just got talked over. He places an order for his usual mascarpone-chocolate pancakes and a black coffee, then gestures to Fitzgerald, who shouts out ‘caramel-honey pancakes please!’ The waitress writes down their order and leaves.

He sits back, turning his attention back to the Port Mafia boss. ]

Fukuzawa-dono, you really should get out of the office more! All that stress is going to give you grey hairs- Oh wait~

[Mori chuckles, tossing his deliciously black hair back, not a shine of white in sight.]

[ Fitzgerald smiles softly, gaze still focused downward. Suddenly, he looks up at Fukuzawa. ]

Nothing to worry about~? That’s a way to gloss things over, Fukuzawa-dono~~

[Mori sighs and switches his arms so he’s tilted toward Fukuzawa. The visual displeasure on Fukuzawa’s face bring endless amusement to Mori.

The waitress comes back, plates in hand, eyeing the two uncomfortably as they glare at each other. Fitzgerald looks simply delighted to be there.

Once the meals are set and the waitress have left, Mori claps his hands in joy.]

At first I only went keep him company, but then I developed a taste for their mascarpone-chocolate pancakes. They’re a little on the sweet side, but go well with black coffee.

Maybe I’ll go alone. Catch up on some reading.
