location: bryce and joey’s room
“and remember what i told you, if you hear noises during the night, you can’t look under the bed or else you’ll probably be caught by some ghost. i’m pretty sure that this place could be haunted.” joey said as he walked with bryce towards their room, giving him instructions on what to do in case there was a ghost during the night. he waited for the other to open the door and then he made his way inside, looking around for a couple of moments, before he sat down on one of the beds and got his backpack off his shoulders and opened it, before taking pickle the cat from the inside. “don’t worry, he could breathe just fine… and you also can’t tell anyone that i brought him or else i think i’ll get in trouble. don’t worry, he won’t ruin anything.” he said as he placed pickle on his bed and petted him softly, before looking at bryce with a smile. “plus, it’s like… perfect that you’re sharing a room with us because pickle likes you. you saved him, so you’re his hero.” he said with a chuckle, as he looked around the room for a while.
bryce couldn’t help but to laugh periodically as he walked down the hall beside joey, listening to his lecture about ghosts and what to do, and what to not do. “do you really think this place is haunted? it does look like something out of a horror film.” he added, simply entertaining the conversation as he unlocked and opened the door to what would be their shared room. placing his belongings onto the floor, he pulled his phone out of his pocket. he had been getting ready to send a quick text to dallas just to check in when he saw a furry creature moving in his peripheral vision, causing his head to snap up. “you did not...” his words trailed off as he watched the other man place his pet onto the bed, jaw dropped only partially. “you really carried him around this entire time? i don’t know if i should be impressed, or call animal patrol on you.” he joked lightly, pushing himself off the bed and making his way over to the other. bryce gently picked up the animal, taking him into his arms and beginning to pet him; joey was right, luckily he knew pickle actually liked him. “but isn’t it too cold for him here?”

mac’s eyes narrow as he watches the people happily gliding around the ice rink in front of him . he’s got as far as putting the skates on , but he’s too afraid to break his ass after stepping one foot out onto the ice . turning to the person beside him with a sheepish grin , he nods towards the rink . “ you any good at this ? you gotta help a guy out , man . i don’t wanna go out there looking like a baby deer that’s just starting to walk . ”
bryce had many talents, but ice skating definitely wasn’t one of them. thankfully skylar had managed to give him a run down on at least the basics when they first met. the memory made him smile, but only reminded him on much he missed the blonde. he laced up the skates on his feet before looking up, just to make partial eye contact with the man standing beside him. letting out a small chuckle, he shook his head. “aw, i think you would make a cute bambi.” he joked, lips turning up into a grin. “honestly? i’ve been ice skating once before...and it was a fucking disaster.” he looked out onto the ring in front of them, watching as others lapped around with ease. he also noted how there were a few holding onto the rails with dear life and laughed to himself quietly before looking back over at the male. “you drink? i think i might need a few shots before going out there.”
i’d like to see brynlee and anyone. she’s hot all on her own, so some of you need to get to it. maybe monroe ? that’s a sandwich i’d like to be in the middle of. nico and noel would be hot if he could pull it off, but his head’s about as hard as a brick wall. and i know they’re already together, but a special mention goes out to bryce and dallas. they’re so cute, it makes me sick.
lily sat at the table she’d booked for her and bryce at tony’s. she’d managed to get them discounts with her now working there so it felt like a good choice for her and bryce to have a catch up without aria. “hey, it’s good to see you. how are you?”
bryce slid into the booth across the table from lily upon entering the pizzeria. he always enjoyed these small get togethers with the brunette. life had evidently been busy for the both of them, but it was much easier now that lily had come back to monarch. “i’m doing good...great actually.” he said, smiling as his mind quickly reminisced on recents events that happened in his life. he really was doing good. “i feel like we have a lot to catch up on. how are you, though? readjusting okay?”
“ i saw someone on tik tok take their pre - workout just straight . like … in powder form . no water to dissolve it . isn’t that gross ? ” dalton pauses for a beat . “ … should we try it next time ? i mean like … maybe it’s more efficient ? i dunno , i’m not a scientist . ”
“like completely dry scooping it? y’know, i have heard that apparently it’s absorbed faster that way, or some shit like that. still gives me cinnamon challenge vibes though.” bryce said, a chuckle quickly following his words. he looked down into his gym bag, which had a container of pre-workout in it. “i mean...should we try it? what’s the worst that will happen?”
Skylar had kept herself locked inside her dorm for nearly four days, as crazy as that sounded she just left her room to get something to eat and to prove Ollie she was alright, even if they both knew that was just bullshit. She had spent four days crying, but how couldn’t she? Her cousin’s birthday was around the corner and she would not be able to celebrate it with Grace and Liam as they did back then. After going back and forth Bryce had actually won the argument, finally, Skylar caved and accepted that he was going to drive her to his place so she could at least be somewhere else. He had promised Sasha would help her keep her mind out of all that sorrow. As she heard someone knocking on the door the blonde walked downstairs. “ Hey ” she said softly looking up at her best friend. “ I guess I’m ready? ”
after texting with skylar back and forth and hearing about what was going on, it was safe to assume that bryce quickly became worried about the blonde. he knew that he probably practiced very unhealthy, and unpractical coping mechanisms, which is how he was able to pick up on the girls own self-destructive behavior almost immediately. he knew that she didn’t want to go out, that she didn’t really want to face society as she had been grieving almost all over again, he knew that better than anyone -- but he couldn’t just allow his best friend to sit there and rot. a change of scenery would be good for her; at least, that’s what he kept telling himself. he had been texting dallas as he approached the front door, eyes glued to his phone screen as one hand came up and gently knocked on the door. “hey, you.” he greeted softly as his eye shot up to meet her crystal blue ones. his lips turned up into a small smile after he released a soft, exhausted breath. “you didn’t really have to get ready. i promised that i wouldn’t drag you out anywhere that’s not my place. you’ll still be able to hide out...just...in a different place.”

“You’d think. I think it’d take a couple of years to get to the same size as you are right now.” Austin was happy with how his body looked but he was always looking for ways to improve it. “Banana and chocolate? Is that a good mix?” It seemed like an odd mix of ingredients to Austin. Although, he couldn’t judge it until he actually tried it. Maybe it would be his new favourite drink? “To the gym? Not as often as I would like too. I kind of get intimidated that people will judge me for not lifting as heavy weights as they can. I can remember some jacked-looking guy mocking me this one time I was in here. It put me off from coming back for a couple of weeks.”
“well, i’ve had a lot of help - so i can’t take much credit, really. it’s true what they say about eating, though. you gotta eat...a lot.” health and fitness had always been something that peeked bryce’s interest, something that he was passionate about. it only seemed right given his job, and the fact that he did have to be mindful about being in shape. “it is, actually - at least, it’s one of my personal favorites. you should try it, my treat.” he offered with another smile. normally he wouldn’t be this giving with a stranger, but the other man seemed pretty cool. and, there was no harm in attempting to be kind. “fuck them, honestly. they’re probably the one’s sitting on their asses flexing for snap. don’t let anyone make you feel bad for being here. i give you credit for just trying to better yourself, takes a lot.”

Dallas had been thinking a lot those past months. He had tried to think straight and not let his feelings blind him, he had to keep in mind what had happened to Bryce and his ex-girlfriend. He knew the male would be scared to label things, he could imagine but they had got to a point that it already felt they were living together. Dallas was so wiped for Bryce that, a simple joke about being his new dog's step-father made him smile like an idiot. The second he sent the message asking if he wanted them to live together he panicked, closing his eyes when he saw the other typing, but the second he asked if he wanted to be his boyfriend he threw the phone on the bed (making both dogs get scared by it) and he walked away, panicking, and just wishing he would not ruin everything. He couldn't lose Bryce. that the guy i’ve been falling for really wants to be with me Those words made Dallas jump off the bed, a wide smile on his lips, he was feeling on cloud 9. When he read his text, now telling him to come to his place, he instantly got his shoes on, grabbed his keys, got both dogs on their leash and walked outside the fraternity house.
It didn't take him much until he was knocking on the male's door, waiting for his soon-to-be-boyfriend to open the door to them. As he saw the male behind the door the dogs just barked in excitement. " Shh, I'm the one excited here " he said jokingly, now stepping close to the male, closing the gap between them, pressing his lips against his. "I'm here, what did you want to tell me?"
𝐛𝐫𝐲𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐳
these last few months had seemed like a whole year to bryce, the whirlwind of emotion seeming to knock him off his feet time and time again. when he originally came back from service this time around, he was grieving his past relationship, longing for a person he was so convinced was the love of his life, and desperately trying to fight to get that back. but in the process of fighting for some normalcy in his life, he had managed to fall for the only person that seemed to make things better; the one who made him feel safe, yet excited him beyond words; the one who somehow was the only thing that made him truly feel at home; dallas. there was no denying his feelings for the other man, and bryce was tired of running. he knew there was no use in running away or trying to hide from this any longer, dallas could see right through him. truth was, dallas knew him better than most, and he didn’t even have to try — a thought that scared bryce. he was completely vulnerable to dallas, his for the taking; and while dallas didn’t know this, he held so much power over bryce. the power to cherish and take care of his heart, or the power to destroy him completely. after almost three long months of trying to fight it, bryce knew there was no use. he was completely and whole-heartedly his.
he was already taken aback by dallas’ mention of the two potentially living together, which made sense considering dallas spent more time at his place than at the frat house at this point. but what really shook the male was the mention of the two being in an actual, legitimate relationship. his eyes continued to scan over the texts, attempting to process what was happening. the word boyfriend somehow being bolded through the screen. but he was calm — nervous, but calm. if anything, he was relieved. the same man that had quickly grown to be his best friend, his person, wanted bryce just as much as he wanted him. in a way, it seemed like the complicated puzzle that had always been their relationship was finally piecing together, and it was piecing together beautifully.
the man snapped out of his trance as he heard a knock on the door, a sound that was quickly followed by the whining and barking of his dog. he pulled a shirt over his bare torso and made his way to the door. a soft and warm smile quickly took over his features as he came face-to-face with dallas, and he couldn’t help but to gaze at him with loving, adoring eyes. soft laughter left him as the other man jokingly complained to the dogs. he leaned down to unlatch the leashes from the them before standing back up straight, just for his lips to come in contact with dallas’. he gently pulled the other further into the apartment mid kiss, gracefully closing the door behind them. he brought his hands up to the others face, holding him and pulling him in even closer, further deepening the kiss. for what seemed like the millionth time, bryce quickly grew intoxicated, hypnotized by the feeling of dallas’ lips on his own. and for what seemed like the millionth time, bryce was faced with the inevitable disappointment when the two pulled away.
“someone’s a bit eager, huh?” his lips turned up into a small smirk, his dark eyes still holding the same adoration for the other as they had just a few moments prior. “you told me that you don’t want to miss a single second with me, but you haven’t…because i’ve been yours since that night we met at that god awful house party in 2017, timing’s just never been on our side.” his voice was soft as he spoke, he had almost forgot that day was the first time he ever mentioned his long-lasting school boy crush on the other. there was a long pause in between, one that consisted of bryce looking deep into dallas’ blue-green eyes. as cliche and corny as it sounded, he felt like he could get completely lost in those eyes. he just found them so beautiful — he just found him so beautiful. “you’ve somehow managed to get me to fall for you over these last few months. you’ve been my light since i came back from afghanistan, and…and i don’t think i’ve ever been happier.” he smiled before continuing on, “and that fucking terrifies me, but also excites me…because it’s always been you.”
𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒔 𝒌 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒌
Dallas remembered the way they met back in Portland, how their paths managed to cross had been because of fate, he was sure. How could he meet someone as interesting and charming as the male? Someone that, back then had judged him or felt pity for his state. Bryce had managed to see through all the exterior and, even it hadn't been anything serious the fact that he had been able to spend time with the male had because the spark to keep going. trying to see him the next time he appeared in town. Dallas didn't really believe in those myths such as that red string that is tied to all the people's fingers that connects everyone with their soulmate, but ... if he did, he was sure the end of her string was laced on Bryce's finger. Dallas didn't know either how he managed to type those words on the screen of his phone, maybe it was the fact that when it came to Bryce he never had a second thought. All felt great if he was by his side. The only thing he wished as he texted him before dropping the phone on his phone was that the male said he wanted to be his boyfriend. As he had mentioned him in the past ... all Dallas wanted was him. They had managed to go from the friends with benefits base to being exclusive. He didn't want to spend a second of his life having doubts, life was too short for that, and Dallas knew that.
Dallas’ blue gaze moved down as the male unlatched the leashes, just allowing both dogs to rush inside the male as if it was Dallas' place. " You know you look amazing? " he mumbled into the kiss as Bryce just pulled him closer to him. Dallas kept his lips locked on the other's as he guided them inside. His hands fell to his sides as he felt the male deepening the kiss. Bryce had the power to just drive him crazy within seconds. As if it was something natural to the male, he took a step back as the door closed, finding his back against the door as Bryce's hands moved to cup both sides of his face. A soft groan left his lips the second they pulled away, he just wished they could stay like that forever. Dallas couldn't help chuckling at his words, he was always eager when it came to Bryce, he was sure he had noticed that. Dallas stayed still his hands still on the male's hips. The way those words came out of Bryce's lips, were just making Dallas incredibly happy, he was just over the moon, he couldn't believe that after all those years he had managed to make a difference in someone. Hearing he was the reason he had been his light when he came from Afghanistan just made him smile. " I've never been happier either," he told the other. " You don't understand? You've been always the one, I met you and I was just devastated, the chemo and everything were killing me but you ... the only thing I wanted was seeing you, you're one of the reasons why I just kept fighting " he told the other. He knew how easy could have been just giving up. " Bryce Cortez ... this will sound so fucking corny but ... do you wanna be my boyfriend? " he asked softly, just wishing he said yes.
𝐛𝐫𝐲𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐳
bryce pulled away from he kiss just momentarily, brows furrowed as dark eyes flickering quickly back and forth between the others eyes and lips, the corner of his lips turning up into a small smirk. “i’m in a t-shirt and sweats.” he chuckled, teasing him lightly. if anything, the thought only made him smile — especially considering that dallas had always managed to take his breath away, no matter what he was wearing. he smiled into the kiss as their lips met just seconds later, a soft hum vibrating off and leaving him at the intoxicating taste of the other, a feeling that only grew as he felt the others hands rest on his hips. their movements were fluid as he took a step forwards and the other took a step back, causing dallas to be gently pressed against the door. he pressed one more final kiss onto the males lips, the gesture soft, tender, almost loving. but even as the two pulled away from the heated moment, they still held onto each other; dallas’ hands still resting on his hips and his own hands continuing to cradle his face, as if the two were scared to really pull away. in a way, he was. it took everything to not let go of him.
he normally was very good at remaining neutral, masking any and all of his emotions in the moment; and yet his features grew soft, almost like a little kid, and he looked at the other male with eyes full of pure adoration and love for the other. whatever walls bryce still had up, now dismantling as dallas spoke. you’ve always been the one…you’re one of the reasons why i just kept fighting. his words were like loving wrecking ball, knocking down and destroying whatever had been standing between him and bryce’s heart. there was absolutely no way that he could run away from him now; and quite frankly, he didn’t want to. this felt good, he felt happy — and for the first time, he was done trying to run away from happiness. he was speechless in that moment, but in the best way possible. timing was finally on their side, was finally on his side. “depends…” he was finally able to get out after a few moments, his lips turned up into a cheeky smirk. “are you sure you want to risk your dogs loving me more than you?” he asked jokingly, referencing to their texts from earlier that day. a soft, breathy chuckle left his lips and he leaned back in, pressing another soft kiss onto his lips. “yes.” he breathed out, his voice just a mere whisper. the word was punctuated by another soft kiss. “i’m yours, dallas.”
𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒔 𝒌 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒌
Dallas chuckled at his words, he couldn't help chuckling at his eyebrows furrowed at his comment. " And you still manage to look good in a t-shirt and sweats, I would be happy to hear that compliment " he smiled, just before their lips were pressed against the others. When Bryce was that close to him he could just feel that butterfly sensation in his stomach, yet he could assure it was the whole zoo. The way the male made him feel was something he never felt before, maybe because he had always had him in the back of his mind. Dalla's hands stayed on the other's side, not wanting to be too far away from him, after his messages, that was going to be a nice conversation and the last thing he wanted to do was miss a single word. His eyes moved to find his honey ones, just getting lost. There was just something intoxicating in him, and it was something that he was sure that he would never get tired of.
Dallas had known Bryce for a while, he had that expression, that just told the rest her was a tough guy, that he didn't show emotions. Yet, that wasn't what he felt when he was with him, at least when he looked at him with those soulful brown eyes he could swear he could make him all soft. He wished he could just admit that he had fallen for the male so quick, yet he just wanted to keep him close, he didn't want to do things too quickly, but every time he got lost in his eyes he was a little more sure that he was falling for him hard. As he finally heard Bryce reply he wasn't just so confused, yet he just couldn't help chuckling at his following words. " If in the end of the day you give me the chance to be with you I don't mind if they love you more " he smiled. As he told him that he wanted to be his boyfriend Dallas couldn't help smiling as he felt Bryce's lips on his. " I'm yours, Bryce " he said back now moving his hands to cup the other's cheeks, pulling him closer to him, kissing him softly. That had been one of the happiest days in his life. Dallas couldn't get enough of the other and he just wanted to keep kissing him forever.

nb: bryce accompanies dallas to his appointment after being asked a few days prior, providing as much emotional support as he can to the other, and ultimately showing and expressing his adoration for dallas. still a work in progress. @dallaskstarkmu
𝐛𝐫𝐲𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐳
bryce didn't know what to make of it when dallas texted him a few days prior, asking for him to accompany him to one of his doctors appointments. while bryce knew about the others treatment and health problems throughout the years, and while the two seemed to be getting closer this time around, this seemed to be uncharted territory - even for bryce. he knew that his nerves didn't stem from the fact that he was almost completely terrified of doctors and anything medical related, but more so of what this meant to him. he couldn't stomach the possibility of hearing bad news about dallas, the one person who deserved the world in bryce's eyes. he was genuinely beginning to care about the other, and that terrified him. the man sat there beside the other in the waiting room, his knee bouncing feverishly as he flipped through an old edition of a people's magazine that sat on the coffee table, a lame attempt to distract his mind, really. "prince william, the making of a modern king," he read the title of an article out loud, his voice audible but quiet. "i don't know why they're planning for the future. i'm convinced queen lizzy is immortal at this point." he said with a nervous chuckle, his eyes diverting away from the text to look up at the other male. "you okay?"
𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒔 𝒌 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒌
after a year un remison the male just felt immortal, even if that was just too far to be true. after that long time fighting he could say he won the battle, but he didn't want to jinx it. if he was honest he asked bryce to come with him because he felt safe around the male. they were at the waiting room dallas was just scrolling through his phone as they waited, it wasn't the first time he found himself there but seeing bryce that nervous warmed his heart. "im okay, bryce" he smiled "you're the one who is not" dallas pointed out, now his hand moving to hold his. "It's going to be alright" he smiled.
𝐛𝐫𝐲𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐳
bryce looked at the other male with furrowed bryce, quickly shaking his head in denial. "i'm fine. wonderful, actually. it's a beautiful day to talk to doctors." he said in a breath, releasing another soft, nervous chuckle. still, he easily accepted the others hands, lacing his fingers through the others and holding for almost dear life. how was dallas being so chill right now? the bouncing of his leg only ceased slightly under the others touch. he stood quiet for a few long moments, his thumb stroking the others hand gently. "i came out to my sister the other day." he said randomly, silently cursing himself. "that literally has nothing to do with anything, but at least if i pass out from embarrassment now there's doctors and nurses to save me." he joked, laughter leaving his lips. "this is just a check up? you've been feeling okay?"
𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒔 𝒌 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒌
"you wanted to talk about queen Elisabeth.... that doesn't make me think you're alright" he pointed out. dallas caressed th back of his hand with his thumb, just trying to calm him down. a warm smile tugged the corners of his lips at Bryce's words. "you did ... wow, what did she say?" he asked. "You're not going to pass out, and either way im here" he smiled. "yes, it's a check up... if i wasn't feeling alright i wouldn't have driven us here"
𝐛𝐫𝐲𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐳
"long live the queen, am i right?" bryce said jokingly, a smile teasing his lips. it was his way of lightening up the mood, and attempting to bounce back from his anxiety. he didn't want the other to think he couldn't handle being here. he just couldn't handle the mere thought of something bad happening to him. he simply nodded and looked over at the blue eyed male, his lips pressed in a soft line as he gave him a soft, sheepish smile. "she was actually pretty cool about it. i knew she would be, but there was still that anxiety, y'know?" he rambled on. "okay, okay...i'm just checking."
𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒔 𝒌 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒌
dallas shook his head at his words. "You're right" he nodded with a smile on his lips. thr male knew it wasn't the best thing being there, he would have to ask Bryce if being there made him too anxious, if it was he wouldn't ask him next time, he just didn't want him to felt that way. "im glad she was" he smiled "of course, i was terrified when i toldy parents" he chuckled. "bryce i don't want to generate you this anxiety, im sorry you're feeling like this" he said softly.
𝐛𝐫𝐲𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐳
"how did they react? your parents, i mean." bryce asked, his voice soft. with the exception of sky and dallas (for obvious reasons), allison had been the only one that he confided in on the topic. there was still a lot the man had to figure out, but if there was one thing he was certain, it was that he felt something for dallas, something that was more than just the physical connection. his eyes scanned around the waiting room once more, but quickly diverted back towards the other male as he heard the other speak. "hey, no, i'm fine." he immediately stated, giving his hand a gentle squeeze before continuing. "i wouldn't have agreed to coming if i didn't think i could handle it. i just - i care about you. i always have - but i promise you i'm okay." he ensured, his lips turning up into a soft smile. "besides, i kinda like this quality time. it's like we're an old married couple." he lightly chuckled.
𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒔 𝒌 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒌
dallas laughed at the memory of his parents reaction. "well i sat them after my father's shift and a i just to them i thought i liked guys" he explained. "i was seventeen or something, i think they got happy about the fact i was thinking something that had nothing to do with the cancer" dallas confessed. "you should have seen me reading how to make things better, well actually that's how i turned vegan" the male explained. a soft smiled appeared on his lips as he heard bryce cared about him, he would have liked being able to kiss him in that moment yet, he didn't want to make things awkward. "i would not consider this quality time, we're in a hospital" he smiled. "ill take you out after this" he told him. he wanted to add something but he heard someone calling his name. "let's go" he smiled at bryce as he got up from his seat.
𝐛𝐫𝐲𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐳
bryce’s lips turned up into a soft smile as dallas went on to talk about his parents. he wouldn’t admit it at the risk of embarrassing himself, but there was a lot he found admirable about the other male. the way he took everything with such ease, such grace — that resilience that a lot of people didn’t have, including bryce, that made him truly special. bryce could listen to him talk about himself all day; there wasn’t a single thing he didn’t want to know. before he could comment any further, dallas’ name had been called. he dropped the others hand as he got up from his seat, immediately following the other male past the nurse and into a private room. bryce stood out of the way, leaning against the wall, arms crossed over his chest. he watched as the nurse took his vital signs and asked him a series of basically questions. it was then he realized just how important this was, at least, to him. bryce felt as though he was stepping into a private, intimate portion of dallas’ life, and while that would normally send the man running for the hills, he accepted it for what it was. him being there for one of his closest friends. once the nurse walked out of the room, bryce grabbed one of the empty chairs, dragging it next to where dallas had been sitting. “maybe i should take consider going at least vegetarian, your blood pressure is good.” he said with a smile as he took a seat. he knew he didn’t have long before the doctor walked in, so he decided to keep things short and sweet.
𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒔 𝒌 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒌
There was something in talking about Bryce that always felt comfortable, he could talk to him for hours, he wasn’t scared of talking about deep topics ( not that he was shy or anything around the rest, he just didn’t talk much about those deep topics if he didn’t trust them). He hadn’t taken anyone with him to his doctor’s appointments before, just because there was something in him that, even if he was good in that moment, that didn’t want people to treat him differently. He felt alright and that was the only thing that mattered. The way Bryce dropped his hand as he heard the nurse calling his name made an amused smiled appear on his lips. “Chill” he smiled as he walked inside the room where the nurse checked his vital signs, if he was honest that was something normal for him, it was something he just got used to with time. His eyes moved from time to time to meet Bryce’s honey gaze, as if he was wordlessly telling him everything was alright, that he could just relax. “I’m sure you’re alright” he chuckled “I would not be beginning if any of this had happened” the male assured. As the doctor appeared in the room Dallas got up from his seat just to shake the man’s hand as he sat on his chair. The male told the oncologist the list of things he had had to memory after finding himself sitting there every 3 months. He assured that so far, he still got kind of fatigued, but he knew that was part of the side effects and trouble concentrating and for time to time trouble sleeping. The doctor took a look a at his medical story, just revising if there was any new medicines, vitamins, herbs, or supplements he was taking. Dallas took a second to look at Bryce, flashing a smile at the male.

“i’m chill, promise.” bryce assured with a smile. his gaze had diverted away from the male and towards the door as it swung open and dallas’ doctor came into view. bryce gave the stranger a soft smile, introducing himself briefly and shaking the others hand. the man sat there quietly, listening as dallas and the doctors conversed about what had been happening over the last few months. he slouched back in his seat slightly, adjusting the hat on his head before crossing his arms over his chest to make himself more comfortable. there was a brief pause between the two men as the doctor began reviewing dallas’ chart, in which bryce took that moment to gaze over at the brunette, returning the soft smile. “has he gotten any labs done recently? how’s his thyroid function looking?” he randomly asked, looking back over towards the doctor as he broke the moment of silence. he had secretly done a bit of research before accompanying the other male to his appointment. “and his blood count’s okay? i guess i’m just concerned about whether or not him being tired is a result of the treatment, or anemia.” he then added, leaning over slightly, resting his forearms onto his knees. he listened carefully as the doctor began speaking, nodding every so often to show that he was understanding.

“You know that you can’t fool me right?” he asked with a teasingly smile on his lips as Bryce assured him that he was chill. Dallas’ blue gaze was locked on Bryce as he briefly introduced himself to the doctor before he shook his hand, it made the male smile. He had never taken anyone to his appointments, at least if that person was part of his family. Dallas’ eyes were locked on the doctor as he talked, yet he could feel Bryce shifting in his place, making him take a quick look before he just looked back at the doctor. The second he heard Bryce asking he couldn’t help but fix his gaze on him, he had asked him to come with him a couple of days ago, yet the way he asked made him realize he had been reading, it made him flash him a soft grin. Even if he should be focused on the doctor’s words he just couldn’t, his eyes were moving back and forth to look at Bryce, the way he worried about him just made him smiled. Skip some time As he shook once more his hand Dallas walked outside of the room with Bryce close behind him. “You read about thyroid cancer before coming?” he asked, yet he already knew the answer to that. “That was cute” he smiled.

many didn't know this about bryce, but he worried... a lot. that's all he did when he was overseas; worried about his friends, his family, what every one was up to, if they were all okay, everything. now that he was back home, he still had those worries. allison, skylar, lily, vedette, dallas. are they okay? would they tell me if they weren't? are they in any trouble? would they tell me if they were? while he put up a good front, his mind was always constantly racing, constantly assuming the absolute worst. and in that moment, his 'i don't care' persona just couldn't triumph the concern he had over dallas' well being. someone he bumped into so periodically prior to monarch, someone who just two years ago the man only simply had flirtatious conversations that only lead to sex -- suddenly was one of the people bryce wanted to protect the most. the man that occupied bryce's thoughts for weeks after every little random encounter over the years, was now the one bryce thought about constantly, worried about, longed for. and he wanted to savor every single moment, wanted to savor him -- at least, for as long as he could.
TIME JUMP
bryce sat there as the doctor spoke, explaining to both him and dallas what was happening. he felt a little better as the pair walked out of the examination room, making their way out of the small outpatient office. bryce walked closely behind dallas, shoving his hands into the front pockets of his jeans. his eyes were down, watching his feet as the two walked. how could he already care about someone who he’s just built a friendship with so much? were they even friends? dallas wouldn’t have just brought him to such an intimate, vulnerable setting if bryce was just his fuck buddy, right? he was lost in thought, looking at his feet as his mind wandered; the repetition of left foot after right foot almost making him feel at ease, setting his thoughts into place. hearing the other male speak caused bryce to dart his head back up, immediately turning his head to look over at the male. the corner of his lips turned up into the slightest bit of a smile before he turned to look straight ahead. “it’s really no big deal.” he simply shrugged it off, taking in a deep breath, taking in the scent of cleaner, rubber gloves, and medicine that made the hospital such a distinguished setting.

It was true that when they, met Dallas was at his lowest, there was something in him that even, if he wanted to keep going he just couldn’t. When he met Bryce that day there was a spark that just ignited, just as if he waited every single second just to know if the male would call him, or he asked him to meet. As if Bryce was the only treatment he needed, as if chemo was just something secondary (when it wasn’t). Dallas found himself even if it had been years thinking about the male and there wasn’t much he could do to keep him away, he craved him, and not in a physical way, he only needed having him close, the rest didn’t matter when he was around. He just wanted was time next to him.
TIME JUMP
“No big deal?” he asked with a raised eyebrow, not really believing he was saying that, not after he researched and everything. “You researched and everything, that means a lot, Bryce” he told him, his eyes moving to meet his for a second, yet he just looked away after a couple of second, maybe he didn’t t mean the same to him. The brunette guided them outside. “ So you still wanna go out to eat something or?”

bryce picked his head up as dallas spoke, looking at him with furrowed brows. did his words get misinterpreted? it seemed as though the two broke off eye contact at the same time, bryce looking ahead and occasionally down at his feet as the two continued to walk through the hospital to get outside. his mind wandered a bit. “hey, wait.” bryce called out, his voice audible enough, but still soft. he reached out and grabbed dallas’ hand, halting both of their movements once they made it to the car. “it’s no big deal to me because i’m starting to care about you...and knowing what you’re going through and making sure you’re okay is the least i could do.” his eyes were filled with sincerity as he spoke. there were only a limited amount of people he genuinely, whole heartedly cared about — and for those people, the man would make the world go off its axis and do nearly the impossible to make sure they were happy and okay. that was just the side that he didn’t show often, the side he so professionally kept hidden. “i don’t want you to take that as i don’t care, or that i didn’t want to be here...because that couldn’t be further from the truth.” it was actually a good feeling to know that dallas wanted him around, especially for something as intimate and vulnerable as this. it was validating in a way, and made bryce feel just the tiniest bit special...as ironic as that sounds, considering this time was about dallas and his well-being. giving the other male a small smile, he brought his hand up to his lips, pressing a soft kiss onto the top before ultimately letting go. “yeah, i could go for something to eat.” really, he was down to go and do whatever with the other male; he was genuinely beginning to enjoy the others company, and found himself craving the others presence more and more. as long as they were together, bryce didn’t really care about what they did.

if he was honest he was honest the fact that bryce was there was a big deal for him. he had never asked anyone to come with him to come with him to those follow-up sessions. he wasn't scared of people knowing about his past, he was sure everyone knew by now, yet that was just so personal. until bryce spoke dallas was focused on walking, he didn't want to bother him more, it was enough. dallas' eyes dropped to his hands together. at his words dallas couldn't help feeling ashamed. "i think i misunderstood your words" he told the male, his cheeks burning red. "sorry, i panicked, i just, you're the first one ive asked to come so ... ive been more nervous because if you than the fact we came to a doctor appointment. dallas smiled as he kissed the back of his hand. "lets go somewhere" he shook her head. "lets just go wherever you want" he told the other. "i don't mind where we go" he told the other.

a soft sigh escaped his lips as he heard dallas speak, his lips turning up into a sympathetic smile. “don’t be sorry. i’m sorry for saying it’s not a big deal...i didn’t know how important this was to you.” he spoke softly, his eyes meeting the others. he so desperately wanted to hold the other in that moment, noticing his cheeks turn into the slightest shade of pink. “i was also a bit nervous, if i didn’t already make that obvious in the waiting room.” he chuckled softly, laughing at his own expense. “but this was also important to me. you’re important to me. and...i can’t lie, it’s kinda nice knowing i’m one of your firsts.” he ended off his statement with another chuckle, a soft smile spreading across his lips. if he was honest, knowing that just made him want to be with the man more. “i think i saw a small diner hidden down the street as we were driving. wanna go check that place out?”
𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒔 𝒌 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒌
Dallas shook his head at his apologise, it was a normal mistake, he would not hold it against the other. "Don't apologise it's alright" Dallas smiled softly. "It was pretty important I was so surprised you wanted to come" he confessed. He knew they were something more than friends, just because they had been seeing each other but if he had said he didn't want to be there he would not be mad or anything. "well ... hospitals make people nervous" he shrugged, a soft chuckle falling from his lips. you’re important to me. Dallas was the one who didn't know what to say at that moment, that was just ... the best he had heard, for a second he forgot that his doctor told them that, so far, he was doing good. "Of course, you're my first" he assured. "Sure" he nodded, now taking his car keys out of his pocket and unlocking the doors as they walked towards it, his hand reached to hold Bryce's for a second. "Thanks for being here with me" he smiled, his gaze dropped to his lips for a second before he looked back at his honey gaze. Dallas smiled as he dropped his hand and walked to the other side of the car, stopping himself before he opened the door. "Wait ... wanna drive us there? You're the one who saw that dinner"

“there’s no place i’d rather be.” bryce spoke softly, a small smile creeping his lips as he looked down, watching as their fingers gracefully intertwined with one another. the movement was so fluid, as if it had just come natural for the two. and bryce felt something that he was sure he hadn’t felt before; his stomach felt like it was in knots, continuously turning, but also a fluttering sensation taking over his body. is this what it felt like to have butterflies? it only lasted for a second, though, as the two parted ways to go towards their designated seat of the car. bryce was just about to open up the door to the passengers side when he heard dallas’ question, causing him to look up quickly. another smile spread across his lips as he gave the other a small nod, almost immediately making his way towards the other side of the car. “yeah, but first…” his words trailed off as he approached the other male. he picked his hands up slowly, gently cupping the others face and pulling him in for a soft, short kiss. he wondered if dallas could feel it too, the butterflies and passion that laid between the two after every touch, every kiss, no matter how small. did bryce’s burning desire for the man radiate off of him? could dallas sense that he was quickly falling for him, that he had an affect on him like no other? these were questions bryce immediately shook away, pushing them to the back of his mind as he pulled away from the kiss, his thumbs gently stroking up and down dallas’ stubbled jaw. “i really am glad you’re okay, stark.” he finally spoke, his hands now dropping down to the others, taking the car keys from the other.

As Bryce confessed that there was no place he would rather be Dallas could feel a smile tugging the corners of his lips. Maybe things weren't as bad as he thought, he had for sure misunderstood his words. Dallas had made a huge effort deciding to bring someone with him that wasn't his parents, after all, they had been the ones sitting by his side when that whole mess started. Dallas felt that he hadn't slept at night, not because of the actual appointment but letting the other see in fact who he really was. The brunette male smiled back at the other as he made his way to the other side of the car, he was about to walk towards the passenger's seat when he felt Bryce's hand cupping his cheek before his lips moved to press against his. Dallas hummed softly against his lips, wishing they didn't really have to pull away. Dallas was just realizing that he was little by little falling from Bryce, in a way that scared him, after a couple of months the male had him all wiped for him. Yet, he wanted to scare him, making things different, he knew what had happened to him with his last girlfriend, the last thing he wanted was rushing things. His blue gaze moved to meet Bryce's darker one, a genuine smile on his lips. " I'm glad you came with me " he said softly, now handing the keys to the other. " Thanks for coming with me, I owe you a big one " he told the other as he started walking to the other side of the car.
