Like “Supergroups”?  Me too, but if you don’t know what those are, an example of a “supergroup” would be the all-time famous rock band “Journey.”  But is that one (”Journey”) the only “supergroup” that’s out there? Of course not, another example is the band “Angels and Airwaves,” which is lead by Blink 182 front-man “Tom DeLonge.” So if you’re into that sort of thing, here’s “The Adventure” by Angels and Airwaves (and I’ll try to post one or two more songs from that band on here as well, since they’re awesome).

“Bleachers” is a band where it seems like every single song they ever do, no matter what it is, is extremely catchy.  That’s not an easy feat for any musical act, but somehow it seems like they do almost always pull that off.  So here’s “I Miss Those Days” by (you guessed it) “Bleachers.” Though this is a rock solid song, the only thing that may seem amiss is the music video itself.  While this is in fact the real official video from the official “Bleachers” channel (and I made sure it was), the video is strange in that it seems like it was done in one entire single shot, which is not standard; but hey, if you could make every song that you wrote sound “catchy,” no matter what the song is, then I guess it’s cool that you could do a video like this one in one entire shot, so -- there you go.

Has anyone ever noticed this type of music seems to have gained prominence during the 2010s, and there was nothing like it before exactly (per se)?  An example of this type of song in general would be “Don’t Listen to a Word I Say” by “Of Monsters and Men,“ and while not exactly as cool (says me) as “Bleachers” or “The 1975″ (both of which have tracks posted below), here’s “Fire and the Flood” by “Vance Joy.”

There’s a very serious argument to made, that “The Sound” is the best song by the 1975 (and if you haven’t heard that song you should listen to it), but this one, “Somebody Else,” is also very, very good.  The 1975 is an English band, and this particular track shows off their distinctively British sound that is somewhat reminiscent of “Tears for Fears.”  It also shows how versatile this band is insofar as they are not a one hit wonder. So if you’re looking for a great track -- here’s “Somebody Else,” by “The 1975.”

Looking for a band that’s not just “catchy,” but reliably catchy all the time?  That would be “Bleachers.”  So check out their song -- “Don’t Take The Money.”

This song is somewhat reminiscent of “Rise Above This” by Seether in terms of its musical sound, its lyrics, and also its “intent”;  it’s all typical however somewhat for the band Rise Against.  Regardless, it’s an interesting song -- so this is “Audience Of One (Ghost Note Symphonies)” by (you guessed it) “Rise Against.”

“Rise Against” is not exactly my kind of band, but the reality is, this is a tremendous rock song -- so it’s my kind of track.  This, just like the previous songs in the previous two posts, is simply a well done, well put together track.  Feel free to check it out.

I just don’t think this song is as good as the previous one, but it’s by the same artist -- “Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.”  It’s also from a different album of theirs, which is entitled “Midnight.” However, while it’s not as good as what you’ll find on their album “The Lion, The Beast, The Beat,” Grace Potter and the Nocturnals are an amazing band, and there’s no doubt that this track isn’t a “good old rock song” from a band great at putting rock songs together.   So if you’re just looking for a great rock song, give this track a try, but if you want something by them which is even slightly more awesome, check out the one below and give that a try.

This album above by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals is singularly awesome, and one of it’s greatest songs is the song the the album itself is named after -- “The Lion, The Beast, The Beat”.  However, though it’s a really hot track, it’s not the only great one on the album, so another one worth listening to is posted right here -- so as they say in Chicago, this is, “The Divide” by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.

I first heard Snow Patrol (a band from Northern Ireland), in 2008 with their hit single “Take Back the City,” a song about their “city” of Belfast Northern Ireland.  They’re an awesome alternative rock act, and they still have their own very unique sound, and you can hear it right here with a song from their album “Fallen Empires” -- here’s “Called Out in the Dark” by Snow Patrol.

Usually Gavin Rossdale headlines as the lead singer from “Bush,” but not always. Like the legendary singer Steve Perry from “Journey,” he also has his own solo career. So here’s another track from Gavin Rossdale’s solo album “Wanderlust.”  This track is “The Skin I’m in.”

Linkin Park has been around since 2000; their debut album being titled “Hybrid Theory.”  Here’s one from their third studio album “Minutes to Midnight” -- this is “Leave Out All the Rest.” Great track.

Gavin Rossdale is an incredible musician who’s been around for a very long time; he’s brought us such classics as “Adrenaline”, and “Glycerine,” and now here’s another great track from him -- “Love remains the same.”

This was one of my favorite bands during the mid-2000s, and the above is their signature song from that time; so, this is -- “Take Back the City” by “Snow Patrol.”  This band is from Northern Ireland, and the “city” in the song they’re singing about is Belfast, the largest city of the same.
