Buying a wheelchair, hospital bed and learning how to use a hoyer lift has been some of the most depressing and stressful things I've done in a long time - I feel like my heart is sinking into my stomach. I also feel simultaneously grateful/ fortunate to have the resources to get the equipment -- it just stirs up whatever lingering unconscious denial that my Abuela got her leg amputated and that this physical loss has changed our family in really hard ways. I'm exhausted- feel like. Just keep moving grief instead of transforming it - I move grief here to there only to move it back here and then over there again....
