i can be a little weird about camp rock as a treat

the series has to tell essentially the same story as the first film, though liberties may be taken. for example i aged the characters up two years to give it more breathing room.

it should be a period piece (but it doesn't have to be). styling should feel lived in and recognizable of the era. band tees, ipods, mitchie uploads her music to her myspace page but everyone is moving to facebook. late seasons i think tess wears a wide brimmed hat.

pilot opens famously to shane partying in a hotel room to super rich kids frank ocean. blurry and faceless shots, simultaneously exuberant and sad. cut to: a camp rock title card, plain text over the shot so it's reminiscent of the first film. parallel to mitchie inching around her house sticking camp brochures in odd places ala offscreen in the original.

it's an 8 episode series, six weeks of camp with two flashback episodes. shane and tess for the first season probably, tess would get us in la sooner as a primer while the show primarily takes place at camp. season two i think nate and caitlyn get a combined flashback episode about them at camp as kids. season 3 it's jason.
