He’s never heard of any brother of Layton’s, but then again, the idea isn’t impossible—he doesn’t know much at all about the family history.

He doesn’t want to sound insensitive, and he’d be uncomfortable if asked about why he had been adopted, too. ❝ Sorry . I’d just like to know more about my father, is all . He never spoke much of his life while I was growing up . There’s no need to answer that . ❞

Oh, Hershel hadn’t spoken to his own adoptive son about his life? Well color him not surprised because sadly Desmond was exactly the same. Never once did he mention his own past to his wife for the few years they were together and married. ‘ It’s a tragic tale, really. ‘ He began, wondering if perhaps the boy was ready, though he seemed so egar to know perhaps they should just speak of this over some tea.
