Laveyan satanists are so fucking boring and annoying. LaVey was a generic pos libertarian fuck wit who grasped onto vague occult concepts and built a business out of it.  He was a huckster and charlatan who staged magick ceremonies built with no regard to will and intent behind them, created only for shock value.   He grasped onto various occult symbols such as Baphomet and other things without care to their history or relevance.  They “looked satanic” so that was enough and his followers ate it up.  His survival of the fittest philosophy is incredibly ableist and ignorant as fuck.   It’s like LaVay made being a privileged white male into a religion. Seriously when I finally got around to getting a copy of the satanic bible I struggled to get though it because it was so juvenile and ridiculous.  What a fucking tool. There’s a reason Temple of Set came about and why you gotta pay a bunch of money to be a “card carrying” member of LaVay’s Con.  It’s a fucking joke.  A grand con. The left hand path is about finding your own way dogma be damned,  It’s not about being a total fuck wad.  I encourage all left hand path practitioners to consider that the left hand path is the COMPLETE path.  We are liberated to take what we will and to become the best entity that we can.   I appreciate that Laveyen satanism often serves as a gateway, but it’s deeply flawed and fucking ignorant towards other people who might not be as well off as you are.  News flash - you can be on top of the world one moment and the next you can have a brain aneurysm or be hit by a car.  Does your life suddenly mean nothing just because you’ve become dependent upon the charity of others? TLDR - LaVay was a libertarian fuckwit who knows nothing about magic who said a lot of shit that would appeal to young entitled white guys and you fucking ate it up.

LaVey is very 1966…. for better and for worse. We’re all humans, and they were humans just like us back then too. I’m grateful for the (albeit imperfect) trail he blazed, and I’m grateful for a critical look at how far we have yet to go. Both can be true. In fact, I think holding two, seemingly-opposed positions is very Baphometian. Let’s also give credit for everyone who puts themselves and their ideas, even criticisms, out there—past, present, and future.
