Neighborhood Beat: Flatbush - Juan Carlos Pinto

BRP participated in Sustainable Flatbushes' "Greening Flatbush: Garden Where You Are" annual event held at the historic Flatbush Reformed Church where they host their composting and gardening initiatives. Entire families participated, celebrating community gardening, neighborhood greening, urban agriculture and recycling. BRP provided flower pots, recycled glass, tile, adhesives and instructed participants on creating their very own pot mosaics. The day culminate with a delicious community dinner and some great live music. We're looking forward to returning and contributing next year.  

The Brooklyn Recycle Project was honored to dedicate a Mosaic to the great Poet, Actor and Lower East Side Community leader Bittman “Bimbo” Rivas at Two Boots Pizzeria on Avenue A. The unveiling was attended by Bimbos’ Family, friends, colleagues and members of his community. The Villager covered the unveiling:

The Brooklyn Recycle Project and graffiti artist RIMX collaborate on an NYPD car for BWAC's "Tales of Breukelen" show on September 17th.

On July 28th, the Brooklyn Recycle Project installed six glass-decorated wooden panels in the lobby of PS 217 in Brooklyn, NY.
