Hawaii, USA: This 23 image panorama captured what looks like some zodiacal light on the right side of the image, airglow, glow from Kilauea Cauldron, and the glow of Hilo on the left. Im not too sure about the red glow in the air on the left, writes photographer Shane Black.

There are as many atoms in each molecule of your DNA as there are stars in the typical galaxy. This is true for dogs, and bears, and every living thing. We are, each of us, a little universe.

On Thursday, I went to a lecture by Gordon Squires of Caltech at the Glasgow Science Centreâs new planetarium. He mentioned having worked on the Spitzer Space Telescope, an infrared telescope launched in 2003. Inspired by this, here are a few pictures that have been taken by Spitzer.
1. Taken Under the âWingâ of the Small Magellanic Cloud
2. A Pinwheel Galaxy Rainbow

Stunningly clear view of the Bubble Nebula for Hubbleâs 26th birthday
On 24 April 1990, the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope was launched into orbit aboard the space shuttle Discovery as the first space telescope of its kind. To celebrate another year since it opened us a new window on the Universe, Hubble annually observes and captures a spectacular view of a special chosen object.
This year itâs the Bubble Nebula which lies 8 000 light-years away in the constellation Cassiopeia. Due to its very large size on the sky, previous Hubble images have only shown small sections of the nebula. Now, a mosaic of four images from Hubbleâs Wide Field Camera 3 allows us to see the whole object in one picture for the first time. You can read more about the nebula here.

Being brave doesnât mean you arenât scared. Being brave means you are scared, really scared, badly scared, and you do the right thing anyway.
