Overwhelmed with college debt

It's not only our parents and us that will be effected by the debt crisis but our future generations will be brought up living in rations because their parents will still be paying off loans. And when they decide to go to college it may not even be an option if the rates keep going up each year.

He's right when he says it will take awhile but as of now no movements have been made to change the debt problem. Doing nothing isn't way to go, something NEEDS to be ddone and soon

student loans aren't all bad. They allow practically everyone to recieve education but after college is over the struggles occur when the student is expected to come up with a monthly payment, its hard enough to find a high paying job to go off on your own let alone pay off thousands of dollars to college.

When 79% of people who took out college loans are saying it wasnt worth it you know there is a problem. These loans will haunt youfor many many years after you have gotten your degree. It's not right .

This would be a great way to try to get the economy back up. once students can pay out their loans they will be able to spend their money on other things and get jobs and support themselves this could spike the economy

i agree with everything said in this blog, the only way to lower the debts is to decrease the need to borrow money. In doing so less people would be using government money to pay for schooling. isnt this a logical way to get rid of the millions suffering from the college debt?

If the government depends oon graduates why are they making it so hard for people to go to to college and get an education? We're supposed to be trying to get our economy back up running but all we seem to be doing is cresting more financial problems for everyone.

By the looks of it we'll still be paying off our college debt when we're old. It's going to take our entire lives to pay off this money since the economy is so bad. All of the money earned will go soley to paying off these debts and we wont be able to go out and live on our own.

there is no escaping the debt once you aquire it . its a trap that the government get puts us in. im not saying we shouldnt have to pay at all . but there is no reason for why the amount of debt has increased so much.

There should be more relief programs for the middle class going to college. When people aren't able to get an education due to money there is a huge problem. 

college debt is more than credit card debt?! How are we expected to get out of this mess. We'll be living home forever. something needs to be done to fix this problem

this is messed up why would government make it based so the wealthy can go to college when most of the country is in the middle class? The job market is bad and college is more expensive we're being set up for failure. Especially if the "grace period is taken away.

Why is college so expensive it wasn't always this way! the total tuition of 4 years is about what just 1 semester costs now. what happened to make it this way? the cost has to plan on going down either it just gets more and more expensive every year.

Since the economy is bad and families incomes aren't as high more families are forced to borrow government money. Just since 200 the amount of people attending college has gone up. This just causes a vicious cycle of borrowing money that we don't have, it's never going to get better at the rate we are going. 

How does this makes sence? This debt could effect a student for 20 or 30 years if they havve gone to school for years. It could possibly haunt students for the rest of their lives. High college debt will make it harder to move out on their own and pay other bills. How would this be considered a "good debt"?!

It's a widely known problem what can we do to help? College debt is going to put our country into more financial troubles. When will it stop?

I don't understand. Both of my parents are extremely hard working, my dad works 3 jobs to support our family. I have three sisters, two older ones who are twins. Both of them applied for financial aid and they maybe recieved $200 dollars because my parents "made too much money." How could we have too  much money when the ydon't even know if they can go to school next semester because they don't have the money? It just adds more  oda debt to struggling college students.
