I love how much Dr Who says fuck capitalism there is in the 90s novels.

the "fuck capitalism" spirit of the wilderness era leading into Nine is literally unparalleled - but i love the ongoing sentiment throughout the older series. there's so much connection between capitalism and pollution as well. Spearhead from Space/Terror of the Autons, The Green Death, and The Sun Makers, just off the top of my head. so, all i can say is i'm glad that the show only became more outright with this message during the wilderness era, and that RTD really explored anti-capitalism as the spirit of the show.

You know what I would love to see? The doctor in the dark and the master in the light one episode. In terms of mise-en-scene and also like. Metaphorically. I would LOVE to see it. RTD please.

THIS, and: what if they both regenerated and we didn't know who was who?

i originally had this idea in a different post, but what if the doctor and the master woke up in some sort of prison or facility, both having regenerated, and they didn't know who was who? they'd have to cooperate to escape.

based on the way they act, the audience can assume That One must be the master - the cantankerous, blundering, rude one - and That Other One must be the doctor - the nice, helpful, smart one.

and at the end, it's the other way around.

I love the Doctor Who fandom because some people blog about the latest series and make guesses at what’ll happen next while others are working through an infinite extended universe and talking about characters I’ve never heard of in my life and others are solely focused on one single character or pairing from like 30 years before they were born and it’s all so amazing.

Doctor Who is kind of weird as a fandom because we don’t really have Big Name Fans. They’ve all either quarreled with the rest of the fandom in like 1995 and gone off to sulk in a corner since then, or they’ve ended up making the show.
