"Whatever floats your boat, I've seen you use weirder shit anyways." Larger than life weapons that had appeared they were more suited for decoration than killing. Sometimes, it was easy to forget that Nier was completely human compared to the rest of them, with the feats he did. That was why everyone looked up to him, if she could point that out. 

Small talk. It wasn't an unheard thing in the group, but it wasn't something she really did, more towards using her attacks than words. Back at home anyway, with no shades here and barely any worries, there...wasn't anything else to do. 

"'Residing here'? Don't make it sound like I've settled down all of a sudden, it's just like back in our world." Born to fighting, she'd die from fighting as well. Nier should think so too. "I sleep outside still, don't go to the indoor markets even if strangely the people here don't care so much about what I wear and what I am. Said people also like to go around acting like they have the biggest balls and boast about themselves. Talked to some of 'em, it went okay. Et cetera, et cetera, I'm living." 

"So you’re saying we can get out, that this…world is what. Housing innocent people?" One mess after another, the older man couldn’t fully believe this situation he was somehow placed in. Gripping his sword tighter, Nier flung the wooden blade into the ground. "You suffered again, and now Emil and Yonah…" Curse this never ending circle of despair, they would need to figure a way out, or defeat who ever was behind this. "Have you thought of any ideas to kill the bastards here?" While they weren’t shades or replicant or whatever Devola and Popola explained, the urge to rid whatever was in his path to Yonah boiled in his veins. 

"…it’s good to see you again though." 

"If a way out was found, there wouldn't be many people here. Thought there was a way before but it had sound like it was too good. Later, I learned that it was. And plenty of these assholes are hardly innocent." Her short meetings taught her as such. When Nier reacted in anger, she could sympathize - being plucked away from familiarity and friends took a short toll on her. With a raised brow she looked at the other. "Hm. As for that, the little shits are more tricky than you think. They did take your weapons and I'm guessing your magic as well. Like me. When I got my weapon I only saw them through that weird glass. If only death meant something here." Smart bastards, it was the only thing keeping her back from putting her foot up their respective asses.

    “Kainé…” he gruffed out, regaining his train of thought and straightened. “You’re alive.” How was this even possible? He killed her with the help of Tyrann and his blade, easing her pain as a shade quickly before she suffered anymore. Even if she asked him to explain himself, the overwhelming feeling of seeing her safe and well kept him from wrapping his arms around her tightly or something worse. Somehow she was safe, and it was all that mattered. Instead, he looked over her once more, making sure she wouldn’t disappear and folded his arms.

"Tch, what should I say?" she started, crossing her arms. "I got captured by those bastard scientists and been stuck in this shithole ever since. They say it's for 'experiments' but feeling like a rat stuck in a cage isn't comforting, no matter how well decorated it is. Doesn't help that they managed to limit my strength somehow too, got my weapon back at least." And did that help her a lot; fighting with toothpicks is an awful experience, though they had long been used as firewood. "You lucky bastard, you missed the cold I had to go through. It felt like my ass was going to fall off.

She wasn’t coming up, granted the water is cold but she’s made of sturder stuff than that. Kagura’s hands started to twitch and grasp the air as he got stressed of the situation. 

" That stupid woman, what the hell is she doing!? " 

He dropped his sword on a safe spot and threw off his cape mid-air as he leaped down into the water.  The initial shock from the cold water was almost unbearable. Kagura couldn’t see anything in the dark water until he saw change in the light reflections. Take a wild shot he dashes down and swings his hand at where the reflection interruption was. 

His hand caught something and he hold onto it with his dear life. The cold of the water starting to numb his body forcing him to activate his dark flame manipulation. The fire made his body warmer but the bubbles from the flames made it hard to see. 

Reaching back up to the surface, like swimming towards the end of the tunnel, he breaches the water surface and gasps in air, quickly lifting and pushing Kainé back onto safe ground, dragging her to where he put his sword, he swept her in his large cape in an attempt to dry and warm her.

Oh no….

" I’m gonna have to kiss a dude…  " he whispers to himself with much bitter taste in his mouth. 

Of course, the stressed out Kagura did not think this through clearly. He did not consider to check Kainé for life signs or status and just blindly assumed for the worst.

A muddied mind, and finally looking around to understand exactly what had happened - since it felt like too much time had passed, even if she thought about it - turning over to where her hand had stayed cupped over.

"Oh."

Confusion turned to wide-eyed as she stared at the man whose mouth she currently had her hand on, which Kainé then slowly removed as the events that had happened came back. For the most part anyways, a bit fuzzy near the end with the darkness of the water engulfed her but considering she wasn't dead and just in pain, cold, and what she realized was that cape of his, then she could come to the conclusion that he had saved her.

At this point, maybe he expected Kainé to blow up at him - as she normally would have at any little moment - but instead turned her direction toward the lake that was the cause of all this. Well, fuck that lake, and the snow too. With pursed lips, she turned her attention back at him. His actions proved himself and she always had a history of being unable of simply saying 'thank you' so...

Raising a hand to first check the flower in her hair she said, "Looks like I'll help you out then for that adventure shit; consider it me paying you back." For saving her, he didn't have to; death meant nothing when one could be revived easily enough here. Hell, he probably even shouldn't have in the first place. 

If that wasn't what he expected from her, she didn't show it, going to lean up due to not being the type to taking it easy and went about fixing the braid for her hair. Strangely, she realized, it stayed warm around here; ah, from him, Kainé thought as the burns showed themselves. Made enough sense.
