It's possible one of your files was skipped by mistake, which caused the rebuild to fail with a network error. Skipping files should now be handled properly, and you'll get logs explaining why any files were skipped.
That was a bug with the rename feature! Should be all fixed now
This one is really difficult to find the cause of without knowing what those two files are and with no look into your database for what might be wrong. Hopefully with the new error logs there will be more context given on why those two files don't appear in your game.
hi could i ask, what do i do with cc magic if i want to download your mod manager? do i fully uninstall it?
Only if you want to! It’s completely fine if you want to keep both around.
If you decide to switch, PlumbobForge has a built-in migration tool that will automatically move your CC Magic files over (sets and configurations don’t get moved, yet). And if you ever change your mind, you can manually move your files back to CC Magic’s folder anytime.
If you do keep both installed, just make sure you don't run them both at the same time or try rebuilding with one when the files are in the other one’s folder!
Hi how did you program your sims 3 mod manager? In which language is it built? Might be noob questions but I'm curious! Also how much did it take you and how did you learn?
PlumbobForge is written in Vue and C#/.NET. It’s a nearly 4 month long project, but most of the work was done in the last month. I’m currently unemployed so I have too much free time on my hands
I never had much experience with .NET beforehand, so PlumbobForge was quite lot to undertake for a desktop project. Many people don’t know this, but CC Magic is open source and all of its code is up on GitHub. Being able to reference CC Magic’s codebase in my own made everything go so much faster
I’ve had something with programming since I was a kid, but it didn't get serious until my high school web development classes. Webdev has always been my main domain, so this is actually my first time making a standalone app instead of a website! Sadly it shows with how many breaking bugs are now showing up, kind of makes me wish I waited with the release instead of pushing it out so early! But I have to endure it for now
Hi love, just letting you know the current version filters build-buy objects as presets and seems to be duplicating what you put in <3
Hey! Thank you so much for letting me know! It should be fixed in the latest 0.1.6 version. Please update, run 'recheck package types' in the settings, and let me know if everything looks fine now or if anything's still mistagged or duplicated!
For the technical side of why this was happening: PlumbobForge sorts files based on internal resource tags. Main categories (CAS, Build-Buy, and Other) are simple, but sub-sorting becomes way more tricky because different items often share those. You could say it becomes a game of tag... In this case, Build-Buy objects and CAS presets happen to share a tag that was being used for detection. Because the app was checking for CAS items before checking for Build-Buy, it misidentified them as presets. Swapping the order fixed the issue! While testing that fix, I also caught a bug where some sliders were getting mistagged as skins and cleaned that up too.

oh man, seems like i need more than just one tester
PlumbobForge - TS3 CC Manager
I've been using CC Magic for over 10 years. But it hasn't seen an update in over 10 years. It requires additional software to run and misses the features I've always wanted, so I decided to create my own. PlumbobForge takes what made CC Magic so great and improves on it
Modern UI - Simple to use and understand. It's easy to get the hang of it
Smart Filtering - You can filter your CAS files by categories (Hair, Clothes, Skintones, Sliders, Presets, etc.) with filtering for more types of files potentially coming in the future *wink*
Supported files - .package and .sims3pack fully supported. Worlds fully supported.
Smart Configurations - Worlds, lots, and sims can be disabled, enabled, and fully work with Configurations
Item Details - A name is too long? Rename it. Need to quickly find the source? Search it on Google
No required dependencies - Just install and start
Compression - Enabled by default, can be turned off, with options to pick from (from 'Low' to 'Very High')
Troubleshooting - Auto-fix system to check for errors if anything went wrong for you
It wouldn't be possible without CC Magic and just like it, it's completely open source, ad-free, and the only online connection it does is checking for updates. It's still very early in development. I had a friend help me with testing on their machine but we might've missed some bugs, but I'm looking forward to fixing and always improving.
