He was just about done checking inventory, but when Briar perked up with some mint, the alpha couldn't help the smile. It was always nice to be looked after by his pack.

When he was thanked, Briar offered his alpha a small nod. "Just chew on it, roll it around your mouth, tastes nice. Cleans the breath a little too," Briar winked at Levi playfully. "You always can leave your responsibilities, you just choose not to." Briar turned towards Levi again, crossing back. "That's why we've lasted as long as we have, I guess," Briar smiled a bit. "Yes, I'll tag along. Can't have you getting lost. Ready?" Briar asked, rocking back on his heels.

"Listen, I didn't become second in command by chance. You won't find an alchemist more skilled in my pack; in any pack," the alpha blurted, a little irritated by the frustrating conversation they were having... Or perhaps it was the lack of sleep that had him over the edge. One way or another, he found the need to breathe in and relax both his shoulders and his attitude a little.

He sighed, leaned his back against the wall of the cabin and faced his visitor once again, his blue eyes showing a gentler shade of blue than before.

“Listen, I didn’t become second in command by chance. He sighed, leaned his back against the wall of the cabin and faced his visitor once again, his blue eyes showing a gentler shade of blue than before.

“Whatever it is you need, I can make it,” Levi added. “So what’s it gonna be? Ointment? Sterility potion? Something to help you sleep? Stronger wine?”

“First of all, I wasn’t questioning that,” Briar replied as the alpha had his little episode. He stood their patiently, tugging at the strap of his satchel. Bundles of herbs and sprigs of grasses could be seen peaking out of the pockets. He watched the alpha closely, not even flinching at the outburst. He must have caught the wolf at a tense time. 

“All I asked is if you have experience with poppy bulbs. Healers need more pain tinctures and if you’re not careful with it, it can be poisonous.” Briar shrugged, stepping closer. “Everything okay, sir? You seem...” Briar’s eyes bounced over the alpha’s features. “Tired.”
