Russian Artist Elena Limkina Reveals Her Mysterious Sketchbook To The World, And It’s Full Of Visual Secrets.

If you’ve got an old soul, you’ll be enamored by the delightfully old-fashioned work of Moscow-based artist Elena Limkina. Every week, she offers the world a glimpse into her personal sketchbook, and its pages tell vivid stories of nature, architecture, and classical paintings.

Though Limkina specializes in watercolour materials, she’s also very handy with a dip pen, and uses both to bring shadows and luminosity, respectively, to various botanical and scientific illustrations. “I have been painting since childhood,” she writes on her official website. “I’ve been studying medical engineering, but my passion for fine arts has taken precedence.” A wide variety of influences have clearly come to bear on her style, such as Baroque, Renaissance, and perhaps a touch of modernism; her flower paintings wouldn’t look out of place in the portfolio of Georgia O'Keefe.

The Art of Carlos Fernandez

Carlos Fernandez, a freelance illustrator based in Madrid, Spain. He studied Editorial Illustration and Comic at “College of Professional Drawing” ESDIP. He is capable of adopting different skills, from pencil´s care for the details to a digital line, trying to be merged realism and fantasy. Although his work tends to a personal style, he shows interest and ability to adapt to new themes without closing doors to any creative process.

S|PyroGif and The Fish Tank Effect

Laurent Fradet is a 35 year old Parisian who has for the past many years been working as a VFX artist in film and television but is now switching to vehicle design.  However, in a story I have seen played out many times, he has been bitten by the gif bug and now describes himself as ‘One more guy making gifs” on his Tumblr page.  He is in pursuit of making something ‘mesmerizing’ in what he calls ‘the Fish Tank Effect’.  In this particular slice of his very wide ranging work, the fish are the balls that flow through his beautifully realized 3D constructions.  See if you think that they are mesmerizing.  I bet you do.
