INTERIM VARIATION
Interim Variation explores historical trauma, identity displacement, and institutional language through abstraction and archival reconstruction. Using personal care records and defocused photographic imagery, the work examines the tension between clinical documentation and lived experience. Through fragmentation, redaction, and reconstruction, imposed narratives are reclaimed and transformed into a visual archive.
The work emerged from the existential emotions that follow familial rejection and destruction—suggesting art processes can allow the practitioner to understand an experience that otherwise a methodical approach could not.
