re: "Link shouldn't be a girl in any official capacity", the tl;dr that I understood from your explanation is that you feel Link shouldn't be officially made into a girl, rather than that you feel Link specifically shouldn't have been a girl from jump (rather, that Link specifically should have been a boy) even had, for example, he not been made decades ago when male video game heroes were just expected. Is that more or less accurate?
What you're saying looks more difficult to read than it should be, but perhaps that's just because I literally just woke up... I think that is not accurate, so I'll try to be more concise.
I think it would be fine if Link had been designed as a girl from the start, but Link should be whatever his creators want him to be, and not what we, the players, retroactively want him to be - especially when there are so many different types of players with different interests.
He is a specific character with a specific identity, and I think his current presentation is perfect as is. I think that identity should be preserved in official media, because that is who he has become over the years, and the character we've all connected to during our time with the franchise.
I'm more than happy to keep drawing Link as a woman, but don't NEED him to be anything other than who he is within official media.

Female Link Friday Summer Fun 03
Could you elaborate on why you think "Link shouldn't be a girl in any official capacity"?
Link is a character with a unique identity and personality -- he is simply EXPRESSED in a manner to be universally relatable. He has a specific identity in the games, as subtle as it is. His personalities become even more obvious in official media outside of the games.
So he's not some identity-less RPG hero that's meant to be anyone we want him to be, but rather, a character that anyone can RELATE to.
Link is not us, but instead someone we aspire to be like. Nor is he our stand-in meant to represent us, but rather, our connection -- our link -- to those worlds. We see through his eyes, not the other way around. I don't think he needs to change, nor does he become more valuable by changing.
Of course, nothing about Link's character is reliant on him being male. Although he is male, he is not explicitly "a man" in his identity -- he comes off as quite neutral. If his creator wanted to take the ESSENCE of a character and put it in a new container, like a female form, that's totally creatively legal.
But the creators do not want to do that -- and there's nothing wrong with that, nor should there be any expectation for them to. I also don't think the general desire for a Female Link is rooted in what "feels right" for the character. Rather, it seems to be much more of an appeal to our own interests & vanities -- a desire to see what WE want to see in his character. I don't think that's a compelling enough reason for it to be done in official media -- in fact, I think that's more reason NOT to do it.
Instead, I think that's where fans get to shine. With the freedom of our own creativity, we can take this universally relatable hero, create art, and say: "THIS is MY Link, a version of this recognizable, predefined character that I connected with, curated through the lens of my own life and interests -- unique to me." Whether that Link is male or female, its uniquely ours -- but we recognize and appreciate the official Link for who he is underneath and across our varied interpretations. In fact, we connect with one another through that single predefined identity.
Not only is that exceptionally cool, as we can all have our own diverse interpretations of that character -- it's a testament to the strength in his official design philosophy, not in spite of it, and I think that aspect of his specific identity is worth preserving in his official media.
That probably comes off as weird, abstract, and complicated thinking.

What is it exactly that appeals to you about femlink? Is there some character or design trait that made you go hmm I should Rule 63 this character?
I think I've talked about this once or twice over the last decade, though I can't remember everything I've said about it. There's certainly a lot of unique details I've attached to the idea, like fetishes or philosophies, but they don't matter anymore nowadays.
In its simplest form, however, it's a mixture of: - I have a strong emotional connection to Link as a character. - I like concept of a cool female adventuring hero. - Sex appeal.
The first depiction of a Female Link I ever saw was a sketch of TP Link by yazirou, and a NSFW doujin cover of OoT Link long ago. There was a an attraction to those artworks but I also liked the idea of playing with gender, and a character that felt both masculine & feminine at once.
But as I've grown older...
With exception to the sexy or experimental pieces, my Link is almost indistinguishable from a normal Link. Although I don't think Link needs to be female (and he probably shouldn't be in an official capacity), at this point I just see my Female Link akin to an 'official' Link that simply never was -- albeit with breasts... Just a cool version of a character I already love and a unique way for me to contribute to that world that is uniquely my own (though that usually takes a back seat to pinups now).

love how you draw link with massive balloon boobies and a really tiny waist! Its so creative nobody has ever thought to make girl Link sexy before!
Super creative!
Sometimes I draw her with smaller breasts or super muscly too, but you guys don't seem to like those artworks as much though, so those works are much less creative.

Have you ever drawn a young version of femlink, like from Ocarina of Time or Windwaker? Most of the drawings Ive seen of them are adult femlink (likely for obvious reasons), but I think the concept of the kid hero is pretty intertwined with zelda and a lot of the games in the series. I know the concept of femlink isn't always fundamentally sexual so I hope the question doesn't come across as being too weird.
It's not too weird. Though I've also been on the internet a long time and seen a wide breath of human artistic expression, so whatever. It is also worth noting that while a lot of my Female Links ARE sexy artworks, a great many of them are not. Thus, I don't think your question warranted any suspicion.
Since I tend to draw most of my influence from the Downfall Timeline games, I don't usually draw other mainline interpretations. When I WAS a kid in 6th-8th grade, I did used to draw a bunch of comics in which Toon Link (male) and I went on adventures, but that was the extent of it and is now lost media.
I've drawn maybe a small few, but they're scattered across many years. I've been drawing this stuff since, like, 2007.
Most of my WW-style Links were technically adult (but dwarf-like) and I've drawn something inspired by Ptype89's OoT FemLink once (which is in a weird in-between state? I don't know if she's oppai loli or what?) So not exactly what you're looking for, but still conceptually close.
Still. I'll share some of what might most line up with your question -- nudity inbound, and some are a little sexy (so now you're all weird).
Stop me if you've heard this one. Do you think the great deku gi--
Haven't heard that one.
Do you think fem deku gives good head? like does she take notes from others about it and then divert all the allmight power in her body into her throat
No, because Deku Link can't use a sword for some reason and is thus incapable of decapitating anyone. And no one can hold a sword with their throat unless they're Sif, the Great Grey Wolf from One Piece.

Is it okay if I draw nsfw of some of your OCs?
Feel free.
Although I understand not everyone agrees, my general philosophy is that people should draw what they want without needing permission. I wish to be free and think others should be afforded the same.
If I want to draw NSFW art of someone's OCs, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Then I would withhold it - thus maintaining dominance over them.
So, Elayne got bit, so she’s like half vampire right? Hence what happened in that one comic where she bit another vampire’s neck, or is it that her canine’s are just fangs?
That's a comic I've not heard of in a long time.
The specific portrayal of Elayne in that comic no longer matches my current understanding of the character (she was a very different character at the time), so do consider its story to be mostly not-canon.
However, although she IS likened to a vampire in many illustrations even now, the point of that specific scene was to show off the brutality of the hunter when no other option was available -- it is a very CRUDE bite (as early Elayne was much more akin to a Barbarian).
It is my understanding that ANY human could do the same -- but we have mental barriers preventing us from biting down on humanoid flesh as hard as we can. So you or I could do that if we weren't cowards. Ignoring the stylized expressive overabundance of blood erupting from the body that is often common in media.
As for whether she is half-vampire... Hm.... HMM... She's... interesting. I perceive her to be human -- at the very least. In all the ways that matter.
