KLONOA: I’ve only had Cream for a day and a half but if anything happened to them I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.

     A disappointed click of the tongue when their tripping doesn’t work. But it’s okay; Yuck still has the upper hand and they know it, so for once keeping their temper in check is not the monumental task it usually would be. When the other reaches for the ring, keeping it away from him once more it child’s play.

     Now with more distance between them, Yuck grins cockily as they inspect their new prize between their fingers – its shiny surface already becoming duller with the grease and grime coating their fur. Not that Yuck cars about that – but the other probably does.

     “ Normally, I wouldn’t even care. Jewelry’s always about flauntin’ money or beauty – and I couldn’t care less about either of those. “

     Then, they throw the ring in the air and catch it into the palm of their hand, away from the other’s view as their grin widens.

     “ But power? Magical power? Now THAT’S what I’m talkin’ about. “ A condescending tilt of their head as they slowly close the distance between them. “ How about you tell me more about that? I won’t even beat the snot out of you since I’m in a good mood – and you’ll want to keep it that way. “

      KLONOA PURSES HIS LIPS INTO A FROWN, growing dreadfully silent following the not-rabbit’s words. Not that he felt any more intimidated than he already was ( which, even if he were, that wouldn’t have stopped him from acting, ) but the boy was clearly thinking. Not on what to say exactly, but how to get that RING back. It’s emerald was dull and lifeless, though it still clearly must have emanated power. Even if they got away with it, YUCK would have to figure out how to make it work.

        And making it work was a bit of a puzzle, indeed. Even KLONOA didn’t quite understand how it functioned. But, it was becoming clear to him what he’d have to do -- he’d have to lie. Play it cool, act like you don’t know what he’s talking about! Klonoa didn’t like lying to clear obstacles, but it seemed like in this case, he’d have no other choice!

        “ What do you mean, ‘MAGICAL POWER!’ the ring doesn’t have any magical power! ” So why act like it was so important, then? He could say it was a relative’s, which isn’t untrue. “ I-it was my dad’s, so quit it, and give it back! ”
