Hospitals are so fun. They tell you to arrive at 6:30 AM for your laparoscopy, but you have to be fasting, meaning no food 6 hours before and no water 2 hours before you get there. You get a room and after 2 hours of waiting you ask when it's your turn for the laparoscopy. They say at around 1 pm but tell you not to eat or drink in case the surgery plan changes. I was allowed a tiny sip of water at around 8 am (after begging a nurse). I haven't eaten anything in 17 hours and no water apart from that tiny sip in the last 7 hours. And I still have two more hours to wait here (best case). Why the hell did I get up at 5 am in the morning to get ready and drive to the hospital when they make me wait for over 6 hours here?
