I LOVE SAGE OF TRUTH

Sage is even more fascinating of a character than I ever previously envisioned.

Like, he takes the revelation that he's the singular instance of the Fount of Knowledge in all of time-space to not corrupt like a fucking champ, for one, even going as far as to exposit on his own mentality from the days he almost reached that exact same breaking point such that TK could better understand Ultshamil's own present methodology, and the contradictory nature of it therein. He seems pretty nonplussed about the fact that he's apparently cosmically predisposed to being miserable and evil. (Timekeeper divulging that that even in universes where the Fount doesn't corrupt on his own terms something usually else spurs it on is what makes this especially existentially horrific! Delicious!)

He's just so cheerily matter-of-fact about everything. The world, his past, and his present interests/intentions-but he doesn't tend to even be nudged into divulging any personal information to begin with, which is how we end up with this fascinating gray area on exactly what he's thinking and feeling at any given time and what his opinions on cookiekind even are. He's mild-mannered and accepting of his role as a truthsayer in an almost Buddhist fashion? But also, like, will readily turn around and concede that he would do the same amount of timeline editing that Ultshamil has if in his shoes. Total transparency in his interest in changing the past (to a "reasonable" extent).

"All the cookies interesting enough to watch would disappear" I think most clearly outlines the way Sage approaches the world; he's amicable, generally interested in the greater good, and all around pretty well-adjusted, but its clear that the way he survived his experience as the Fount involved him shifting into an inherently self-centered mentality. The contrast between what he himself states about how the Fount struggled because he had no personal connections, to the Sage finding it only Mildly Interesting when TK asked who he is is really telling, to me? It strikes me as if he eliminated any amount of a shit he had to give about any other cookies from his mind provided they aren't able to keep in step with him intellectually, and any exceptions such as TK themself make for a fun novelty more than a long-term connection.
