The Case Outline is as follows: Wocky Kitaki, a patient of Pal Meraktis, murdered him after finding out he lied about giving him a vital surgery. Here's what has been discussed so far.
First, we give a warm welcome back to Klavier Gavin, who has been gone from the court for a while, busy with his band, The Gavinners.
Wocky Kitaki is then called to the stand, to talk about his motive for the crime.
He explains that half a year ago, he was shot during a battle between rival gang families, with the bullet landing right next to his heart. He was immediately wheeled in for surgery by Meraktis, who failed to take out the bullet. Kitaki didn't know the bullet was still in there until earlier this month, and that's why he plotted to kill Meraktis; and ran into him in the park on the way to his clinic.
Gavin asked Kitaki if he knew how vital it is to get that bullet removed, who was unaware that he could die any day now if it can't be extracted soon, which made Kitaki go quiet.
Since Kitaki didn't have anything else to say, Wesley Stickler, the witness, went up to the stand.
He testified that he saw the two's standoff while on the way home from shopping, and saw Kitaki raise a pistol and shoot Meraktis square in the forehead.
Justice objected, having looked at the pistol in the court record and finding that it was fired twice, and not once like Stickler testified.
Klavier objects back that the pistol belonged to the Kitakis, so it could have been fired any time before that night.
Justice objected again, pointing out that Stickler claimed Meraktis was shot right in the forehead, when he was really shot in the right temple.
Stickler continued his testimony, adding on that he yelled at the two, attempting to diffuse the situation, to which Meraktis turned his head, and Kitaki fired, before tossing the gun and running away.
Justice and his assistant took another look at the pistol, before objecting, pointing out that the gun didn't have any fingerprints on it, and since he tossed it and ran, he didn't have time to wipe any prints off. Stickler thought harder about what he saw, choosing to call the item a "murderous weapon", and thinking it must've been the pistol, since that was the evidence that was shown.
The defense presented Stickler with Kitaki's knife, which was found stuck in the ground at the crime scene, with his fingerprints on it.
Although that proved Kitaki didn't throw down a gun, it did prove that Kitaki was in a face-off against the victim, with the intent to kill him.
Stickler then testified that he used his cellphone to call the police after Kitaki fled, and stayed at the scene in the 10 minutes it took them to arrive, and didn't see anyone else in the meantime.
Since the case seemed pretty cut-and-dry, the Judge was about to announce a verdict for Kitaki, before Wright screamed in fear, catching everyone's attention to her being held hostage!
The hostage-taker demanded court take a 20-minute recess, which the Judge had no other option but to agree to, lest another victim become apart of this case.
