The two girls sat next to each other during recess, sharing sips of soda and having idle conversation. Paige had slim pink lips, gently locking around the mouth of the soda bottle- she was so put together. She looked confident, gorgeous- catching the sunlight like tinted glass, reflecting it so beautifully and uniquely.
"So, what's up with those guys who were bothering you?" Paige broke the thin layer of silence, tilting her head- well-maintained locks shifting to her shoulder.
"Oh, goodness.. Well-" Abby huffed quietly, twiddling her fingers- trying to stare down at her feet. She thought it was gross how her own chest was in the way.
( "ABBY! ZZIPPP!" Why? Paige is her friend! "OOOHH, YOU DON'T GET ITT!" )
"I'm not sure, honestly-" Abby continued, "I don't know them but honestly.. It's not a big deal."
"It looked like they were bullying you, dude. That sounds like a big deal." Paige narrowed her eyes, but not in scrutiny- it was worry. Abby didn't understand that look. She may have involved parents, but she grew out of being the subject of their sympathy- it's been forever since she's seen eyes that cared about her. Especially a strangers.
"I know, I-.. They're just playing, I bet. Boys are just like that."
"Pffh! M'kay, and I'll just go play with them too!" Paige got up from the spot in the grass they were sitting, clenching her fists. "I'll show them what a girl is like!"
"What?!-" Abby got to her feet too, watching in horror as Paige marched up to one of the boys who had thrown an apple at the brunette during lunch. Her eyes only widened further when she saw Paige's arm reel back.
( "THIS GIRLS BAD NEWS! ABBY JUST MET HER AND SHE JUST THREW HANDS!" )
( She's on our side, though! Isn't that nice? )
( "NO! SHE'LL DRAG US DOWN WITH HER, HURT ABBY IN THE LONG RUN! SHE'S A BRUTE!" )
( I think it wouldn't hurt to give her a chance..? )
