They landed in a pitch black tunnel. Alice caught Narcissa, making sure she didn’t injure herself when she plunged onto the stone floor. It was such a familiar interaction for them, but it made Narcissa’s heart beat out of her chest. She squeezed Alice’s hand tightly, hoping Alice would feel something in their touch. A coldness maybe? Or the faint buzz of Dark magic… but her hand felt small and ordinary in Alice’s. Their touch was warm and loving as always. A sick feeling of disgust stirred inside Narcissa. She pulled away. Her soul was contaminated. How could she dare to touch someone like Alice? It couldn’t be right. There had always been something rotten about Narcissa. Festering inside of her, ugly and dangerous. She bore the marks of someone who had experienced evil. Who had been forged by it. What if it rubbed off? What if she infected Alice?  She’d be better off without you, whispered a voice in the back of Narcissa’s mind. The voice was right. Alice was good and Narcissa was weak. She would ruin her.
