Ringed-Cross Brotherhood

Many Years before the first schism.

An esteemed Brother of the monastery of the ninefold body, together with his son, took on the study of the Text the nature of the first dawn.

They studied the letters written down there and learned the methods by which they may be combined.

After three years of study, they recited the letters combined through the methods they had learned and from them, a man was formed.

The man clad in rays had four letters written on his forehead and the two men fell to their knees and shielded their eyes from Its radiance.

In Its left hand, the man held a knife, with it, It carved through the third letter and Its radiance diminished.

The son despaired and said,

"Why have you removed the third from the tetrad?"

It replied,

"You have learned the letters and the methods and in speaking them you have diminished Gods radiance. A human should never perform a miracle, as long as proof of such a miracle exists, the tetrad will remain a lie."

The Brother asked,

"Is there a way we can atone for our transgression?"

When the Brother understood what had happened he went to chastise his Son, but the man no longer clad in rays intervened.

It replied,

"Repeat the letters and invert the method through which they are combined. Repeat them with intense focus and only with the intention to defile and to destroy and I shall be returned to the Dust from which I have risen"

But the son pitied his creation and could not speak only with the intent to destroy and so his voice faltered.

So as the Brother of the ninefold body and his son recited again the letters, Its radiance diminished further, yet It did not turn to Dust.

It spoke to the Brother,

"Do not punish him for this failure, I know it is cruel to ask a Creator to undo his Creation. Your Voice did not falter, so your transgression is undone."

Then It spoke to the son,
