Zeus purposely turing Thalia into a tree is a great twist for an adaptation that is trying to expand the lore and explore complex themes while staying true to the heart of the books. Im excited to see how the consequences of that action by Zeus play out

(Also Thalia 100% chooses to become a Hunter to take herself off the board and to not be used as a weapon by Zeus, that's how they are gonna frame her decision im sure)

Also, this is an excellent use of adaptation and media with the flashbacks to Luke, Thalia, and Annabeth's time on the road. No longer being limited to Percy's pov and not having the time constraints of a movie makes this possible
