But she couldn’t help but glance at him again. She didn’t want them to stand here and fumble over this. It was Steve and V’s life at the end of the day. She held her hand out to him, smiling softly. “C’mon, let’s get out of here before some crazy judge tries to tie us in a knot.”

"Maybe they will be." Danny nodded. He wasn't sure he agreed, but Tess's bubbly personality was definitely rubbing off on him. He just didn't want Steve and Veronica to go through what he had with Rachel. Danny was understandably a little jaded towards the idea of marriage now. He didn't think he'd ever get married again, but if anyone was going to change that, it was the goddess before him now.

Danny nodded again. "Let's go babe, I'm starving." He did feel pretty bad about what he'd said. Maybe she wouldn't think too much of it, though. He was just talking out his ass. Sometimes Danny had a tendency to do that.

She listened to him and progressively the high from the night sank away. She cleared her throat and put her shoes back on. “Well I hope she never comes back then. Because Veronica deserves to be happy,” She told him simply.

"We don’t have to if you don’t want to, just figured I would offer." She added. All previous notions about how he made her feel tucked away in a safe place now that he had made his feelings about whirlwind romance very plain.

Danny realized that he was a big dope. It was stupid for him to have said all of that rude stuff about Veronica, especially to Veronica's best friend. Steve likely would have punched him, had he heard it himself. And it wasn't exactly fair, Danny didn't even know Veronica. He just thought they were moving too fast and marriage wasn't the best option.

"I'm sorry." He chuckled nervously. "But don't you think that they might have made a huge mistake? I mean, they barely met and now they've gone and gotten married. Is she knocked up or something?" He had to ask. That would certainly explain a lot.

The brief little ceremony at the courthouse had been surprisingly…sweet. Tess wasn’t much of a wedding person herself, but Steve and Veronica seemed like they might actually have a shot. Their romance had been insanely whirlwind, but it was validated by the looks in their eyes through the whole thing. Big tough Navy SEAL guy with tears in his eyes. Yeah, she was never going to let him live that down, but she was happy for them.

Steve had carried Veronica out of the courthouse in his arms and Tess had taken a brief moment to sign some stuff as one of two witnesses. Then she promptly removed her heels, holding them both in one hand as she started to walk down the hallway. She was tall enough without them, and the dress only went to her knees so it wasn’t dragging around on the floor or anything.

She had been admiring her violet nail police on her toes, and looked up when she heard another set of footsteps, smiling brightly at Danny. “Hey,” She said. “Some wedding huh? Cheapest I’ve ever been to, no food!” She teased. She tried not to look into his eyes too much because she felt like her heart would hammer out of her chest every time.

She cleared her throat. “I was gonna find really greasy bad for me food. If you drive, I’ll buy.”

"This is Steve McGarrett we're talking about." Danny said. "He conveniently forgets his wallet whenever it's his turn to pay. And honestly I think it's crazy and not going to last. They don't even know each other, and no offense but she's not very likeable. But I don't know her as well as you do, maybe I'll change my mind later. Still it's very fast and the chances of it lasting are slim to none. Especially if Cath ever comes back."

He nodded. "Sure, it'd be nice to drive my car for once."
