If they change the translation so much of what “love trio” stands for and is will be lost. Iruma seeing them as his soulmates, romantic or platonic, means that no matter what they complete and complement him in ways that no other’s ever will. And it goes beyond just him. Azz never felt true friendships with anyone and held himself to his name and title while Clara became content with being used if it meant any sort of connection with others. Their relationship is one built on pure trust, love, and understanding. Azz and Clara are as much Iruma’s soulmates as he is theirs and to take that away from them would undermine the whole theme of wtdsik which is greed. They are allowed to be greedy in only having the title and bond of soulmates reserved for them because it truly is the only word that encapsulates who they are together and to each other

Basically hit the nail on the head! My thinking was that they actually had a very easy time with both her first and last names. Iruma came up with Aiko, which means “love” and “child”, keeping in line with him introducing human world words while her last name became Valac Asmodeus Sullivan. Valac first bc she’s the one who “Carried this love child for the three of us!”(I think she’d jokingly say smth like that) and then Sullivan last bc while Aiko looks like the perfect mix of Clara and Azz they didn’t want anyone questioning that she was any less Iruma’s child as well
