A long time ago I made myself aware of a Spanish translation of Pokemon Blueleaf, currently sitting at 80k views. Spanish is one of my languages and it would've been my native tongue had I been born to my Mexican family in Mexico without American influence. The sprite work is wonderful. Well made.

Blueleaf is, to this day, the story I think of with the least amount of fondness. I spoke about it once and then never again, until I tentatively researched it and saw other people willing to read my story and having had enjoyed it.

With Blueleaf I wanted to try one main thing; create a narrator with a little bit of personality. But unfortunately, I ended up making a bitter, assholeish girl who, according to particular comments, came off as downright insufferable or annoying. I can see why. She was always meant to be mean, or angry at her circumstances, but I didn't manage to meet the middle ground of making her bitter while also making sure she didn't make the story unenjoyable. (Ironically, the video's narrator is a male voice).

Blueleaf itself was about the forceful erasure of Leaf from even the original Pokemon Blue game because she was not meant to be there. They had no room for her, and Red took over his place by force, going so far as to punish her existence in the game code with funny little iconography with red chains. He couldn't fully get rid of her or her influence on his game. It was a one-sided erasure of Leaf wanting nothing more to coexist, fawning against Red and trying to appease him during her own downfall and insisting she didn't mean any harm.

Now, see, Blueleaf gets a lot of comments that are essentially "Pokemon misogynist edition". It was only a little purposeful. In fact, the story was even topped off with a pretentious little "I learned something today" paragraph at the end.

I don't really have it in me to suggest people to read it. I don't care enough to delete it, and since the video exists it'd be pointless to, but I think there are better creepypastas to read.

I think it's a little funny that it's my least favorite yet arguably most popular though, hah.

I retold Strangled Red, and have several Glitchy Red takes, but as far as that goes, it's just SR, GR, and Hell Bell I wanted to retell. Hellseeker is different enough from Hell Bell that it could be argued as a different story; it's not meant to replace the original Hell Bell.

Retelling pokemon creepypastas is a slippery slope because people tend to consider the authors completely unapproachable, and to some extent that would be true when it comes to stories like Glitchy Red or Hell Bell (for the latter, trust me that I tried before I went ahead with Hellseeker), but just because it's old doesn't mean it's public domain. EEeEE for example still has an author that is around, same with Pokemon Dead Channel, etc., and even Lost Silver has the game creator who is, at this point, the closest we will ever get to its owner.

I find myself wary of wanting to rewrite old pokepasta stories for the reason that some of the authors may still be around and it'd be rude to do so. Some stories though I just feel are perfect as they are (Lost Silver), and if it's not broken, why fix it?

Lost Silver and Snow on Mount Silver. The former is hardly a written pokepasta more it is a romhack.

The stories are full of tragedy and cruel ends for seemingly no reason at all. There was nothing that Gold did to get punished, there was nothing he did to die as an unknown trainer, surrounded by his mistakes in a self-made purgatory from his own stubbornness and refusal to acknowledge that he's dead. I like to interpret Lost Silver as Gold refusing to move on. The unown are desperately trying to help him-- "HE DIED", they spell, only ever in third person, as though they aren't speaking Gold's words but instead what he refuses to hear. To me, Lost Silver is a story about how guilt completely consumes a person and alters their perception as to where they won't understand the facts presented to them. Gold refuses to acknowledge his pain, but after he does, he can finally move on.

Hellseeker follows Dust, the new Sinnoh champion, and is a derivative of Hell Bell. This is an ongoing project and although I haven't had the time to work on it due to school and work, it is my favorite and most fond. It doesn't have any feelings of embarrassment attached, nor does it bring personal bad feelings due to the culture surrounding it. Dust is well-cherished by my friends and I appreciate them truly enjoying Dust enough to want to see his story play out.

someone out there has cyndaquil used ember as their favorite creepypasta, finds comfort in seeing a distress mirror their own and show them they're not alone through my glitchy red, or have dust as their favorite character. silent fans who genuinely want to see hellseeker through its completion and silent fans who tell all their friends about the stories i create. people who are probably intimidated by me too, haha.

i kind of have a difficulty of acknowledging that my existence leaves an impact one way or another, but i find it in the sense of how many friends i've made through my creations. people who were fans of my stories who would silently create simply because they enjoyed it without feeling the need to prove it to me. genuinely, that's surreal.

after therapy i got to reading. and i had a really good cry. cuz the pasta made me feel a lot of like, guilt or somefin, from like, seeing the in game protagonist doing something horrific unintentionally and other people very clearly not approving of that. after the beginning i kinda expected a hyperrealistic blood bath with black eyes and stuff, and i did not get what i expected, which is probably good

recently i tried to read it for a second time, and i didn't even get halfway through cuz i was being too insane to focus lol

Hello, hello! Thank you for spending time reading Cyndaquil Used Ember. It was my first ever attempt at a Pokepasta. I admit that it was very spontaneous and abrupt, rushed and a little messy especially because I went the route of telling it in the setting of someone playing through the game. Despite all that, though, people enjoyed Cyndaquil Used Ember and went out of their way to draw art depicting scenes within my story, analyze Silver and his actions, and feel emotional over Gold's fate and how such a simple little accident ruined his life and Silver's.

Cyndaquil Used Ember was recently rewritten by one of my friends, in the hopes that someone I trusted could bring out the main events of CUE in the way I hoped for it to be written. The main story is more about Silver's pain - his haunting, his misery, the great lengths he would go to destroy Gold and bring upon the same pain that he felt. However, it was the player's acknowledgement of the events that forced the punishment unto Gold. If they had just kept playing without trying to reset, the game could have continued as normal, just without the rival.

This newer rendition focuses more on Gold and heightens how the punishment of this death is more psychological. CUE brings out external blame against Gold, whereas the newer version- Flame Waltz- focuses more on internal blame.

In a way, the original serves mostly how Silver after death thinks Gold should be treated, and how the townspeople react to this pain that he's caused. Flame Waltz gives Gold more sympathy, because at the end of the day he is just a child who made a mistake that costed Silver his life.
