Bones of Ancients

Here we have the game’s villains with a quick bounce test!  Meet Phyllip, Dunya, and their daughter, Alazalah.  Wild and wiley, who are these mysterious people?

This account is rather quiet, but until we have more going on, there isn’t much to say!

As of today, Nov. 30th, B of A is still about 1/3 of the way written–although we’ve added in a few more scenes and new screen for coding!  Hint, hint, spoiler alert, but you might get to pick what outfit you want Birqua to wear in a couple scenes!  As well as being an artist and coding challenge, that’s taken up most of my time this month.

The art is undergoing a few changes: I’m changing the lines from flat-black to matching what the outlines are surrounding, and adding in shading.  It’s going to look so much nicer when I’m done though!

The battle system is still a work in progress.  This is the biggest coding challenge for me at the moment, and I think worrying about it so much is stalling me.  But it feels like I can’t move forward until it’s finished, but I am really struggling with implementing it... but this is definitely not going to stop me!

The art for the battles has been my refuge from the battle system itself, and I have three more battle sprites that I will post shortly!

I think this is officially my first post!  I wanted to give some updates about where the game is at, and what I've been working on.  Sorry I haven't posted anything since the account was first made, but I needed some time to work up my courage!

As of today, Oct. 31st, B of A is about 1/3 of the way written--and that's just the script, not the entire coding aspect!  I'm still writing it out, and working on the art in the meantime while I figure out every twist and turn (and every romance)!

The art is about 1/3 done as well; the line-art and basic colors for most of the main talk sprites are complete, with some sprites having multiple outfits and arm positions already!  The background art has been put on the backburner since that's my weakness.

The battle system is also a work in progress.  It's a turn-based battle system kind of like pokemon, with items and a variety of attacks based on which character is doing the actions.  I'm ironing out the kinks here with my sister and a lot of help from the Ren'py forums.

The art for the battles has been my most recent priority, and it's going to be done in pixel art!  I have the battle sprites complete for all five of the playable main characters who engage in the battle system, as well as their basic bounce and blinking animations.
