I have been turning over these words by Vimala a lot because they walk alongside a belief I hold to be true: when we communicate what we perceive inwardly as ourselves outwardly to others, in the hope of a resonistic response, energetic bonds are formed. Like hooks and eyes, potential comes together. You can feel the gravitational or magnetic weight of those connections whenever you bring those you hold dear to the forefront of mind: family, friend, lover, self.

The word "relationship" holds a sincerity of resonance and a conscious acceptance of these connections formed energetically between the perceived self and another. Your thoughts and feelings for one another form a "Rosen" type bridge between all that makes up the "you" and all that makes the "them".

...a vast array of sensors, bonded and communicating beyond time, space, and defenses, all collectively riding the SHIP of RELATING to one another. If anything, friction solidifies those bonds; true meta-lurgy 😉… perhaps just not in what we would call a pleasurable way. All relationships are relationships in every sense of the word. They go deeper than pleasures and dislikes; they cross boundaries, borders, defenses, and dimensions, beyond reason and realities, straight back to what brought you together in the first place. The way I see it, everything has a defense mechanism in reality, which is constantly being adjusted in relation to reality.

I think defenses shield from the conscious mind the true meaning, necessity, or any connection beyond what is perceived by the ego... but when defenses are laid aside, then two can perceive, as one, the true need and necessity of relating at all. Two points of the same ocean realizing we are made of the same water.

I have been wondering, reading, and waiting for this tiny mention to be explained since page 95 of Assassin's Apprentice. I hold the assumption that the "man talking to himself" mentioned during this passage was the Fool and Ratsy, but who is the "She" who tests loyalty?

Then, there is this passage in Book 2, page 404, regarding the recounted travels of Chade Fallstar...
