Wanderlust is consuming me. My mind is constantly planning wild adventures and changing discussed ones. I feel the need to escape. Book a one-way flight and wake up in some exotic country or fly home and hug my friends that I miss dearly and can’t stop dreaming about. This life of travel is what I always wanted and I long to keep moving. But then after a few months of backpacking, I’ll crave somewhere to call home. Do I stay in this captivating country so isolated from everyone or do I move on thankful to have called NZ home. These are my daily thoughts. Back and forth. Up and down. Alarms went off at 3am for our sunrise hike on the Tongariro Crossing. The five of us hopped in one car to drive to the entrance only to find the weather not on our side. Rather than hiking in the rain we opted for hanging at natural hot springs in Taupo then headed back to try again for sunset. We reached the peak of the trek, the top of the Red Crater, but could hardly see a thing through the thick clouds. When they finally parted, we were rewarded with this view. I've always been a thrill-seeker, a risk-taker so as soon as @ryan_domenico pointed to this cliff, I happily found a way down. Standing on the edge as the waves crashed on the rocks below, I could feel the sea mist on my skin and my heart beating faster and faster. My curious mind wondered if I'd survive if I fell and as I hung over a bit further to look down, Ryan shouted "got it" and I snapped back to reality and stepped away. As I sit for photos watching Mother Nature paint the sky, a sense of calm euphoria envelops my body and I know that everything is right in this present moment. Hidden somewhere in the North Island is a secret waterfall with dangerous and restricted access. Knowing this @ryan_domenico and I couldn't resist and our curiosity and love for adventure took over. Hearts racing, limbs sore, we arrived at the waterfall in absolute awe of its power and beauty. I dove in, cursing the frigid temperature and swam up for a closer look. Sunrises are my new favorite time of the day. I won't lie, I'm a sleep snob so when the alarm screams and it's still dark, I struggle to drag myself out of bed. But then I do and I watch the world wake up like a big yawn stretching colors across the sky. With the sun on my face I can't help but smile, knowing this will be a good day. (at Lake Tarawera)

The past few days @Ryan_domenico and I have cruised all over Bay of Plenty & Coromandel in Ronda 🚌catching every sunrise and sunset and loving every second. Although the sky didn't shine with color and the mosquitos attacked my ankles, this captivating waterfall was worth the stop. (at Owharoa Falls)
