The Eastern tiger swallowtail (Papilio glaucus) is a large, common butterfly in eastern North America, known for its bright yellow wings with black stripes, though females can also be dark-colored as a mimicry of toxic butterflies. It has a wingspan of 3 to 5.5 inches and is often seen in gardens, meadows, and woodlands, feeding on nectar and puddling for minerals.

Callosamia angulifera, the tuliptree silkmoth or giant silkmoth, is a moth of the family Saturniidae. It is found in North America from Massachusetts east through central New York, southern Ontario, and southern Michigan to central Illinois, south to the Florida panhandle and Mississippi. The wingspan is 80–110 mm.

Alaus oculatus can reach a length of about 25–45 millimetres (1.0–1.8 in). They have an elongated body, black in color throughout. The pronotum exhibits a large oval patch of darker scales, framed in white, on each side - the common name of the beetle derives from this feature. 

Dryocampa rubicunda, the rosy maple moth, is a small North American moth in the family Saturniidae, also known as the great silk moths. It was first described by Johan Christian Fabricius in 1793. The species is known for its wooly body and pink and yellow coloration, which varies from cream or white to bright pink or yellow.

Stereum hirsutum, commonly known as the false turkey tail, hairy stereum, or hairy curtain crust, is a fungus typically forming multiple brackets on dead wood. It is also a plant pathogen infecting peach trees. S. hirsutum is in turn parasitised by certain other species such as the fungus Tremella aurantia. Substrates for S. hirsutum include dead limbs and trunks of both hardwoods and conifers.
