Completely missed the Donnie takeover for the weekly magma due to being horrendously busy with school, but I still wanted to draw something to show appreciation for my favorite turt!

I’ve always wondered what it would be like for Donnie to meet his future selves, as he alluded to the possibility in the movie, and I thought it would be interesting to see him interacting and working together with them! So, I drew both my bad future (far left) and good future (far right) Donnies to triple down on the ourple takeover

There are a lot of posts on my dash this morning about book Stratt vs Movie Stratt that, to me, largely miss the point that they are in fact the same character, it's just that book Stratt isn't finished yet. Wier didn't know how to give Stratt the empathy and humanity that drives her to do what she does—and she does have it, she must, she loves earth and she loves the people or she wouldn't do what she does, she's not in it for fame or glory or her own personal gain, she's doing it to save earth—because he's honestly not so great at writing complex multidimensional characters. I saw a post that tried to posit that it's because the book is from Grace's POV and he sees her as a no-nonsense hard ass...but the movie is also from Grace's POV! We're never privy to anything happening that Grace isn't also a part of. It's just that the film writers and Sandra Hüller made sure to communicate to us that Eva Stratt isn't a twist villain who throws Grace under the bus with zero regrets. She's doing this to save her people and her planet. She liked Grace. It sucks. She's ruthless, but she's more than that.

So when people compare the characters in the book as different entities I'm just like. But that doesn't count. That was a rough draft. It wasn't done cooking yet.

And it pissed me off so badly that I spent the ENTIRE WORK DAY today compiling evidence from every project my team has ever done for her, pulling past emails she’d sent us, putting together an entire case proving that she had been the problem all along. That she got projects mixed up, that she’d made requests that were nonsensical, literally everything you could possibly imagine. Screenshots of emails, reports we’d submitted, EVERYTHING.

This woman in particular has been terrorizing my team for years, her name is almost a slur in my office, I had simply had ENOUGH of her.

I put all of this evidence together and sent it to all of my bosses at 4:30pm. Then I took a long break to eat a sweet treat and drink some tea.

After my break, my bosses all called in an emergency meeting with me and they said they read my report and fucking loved it. And I sat on a teams call with my boss’ boss as she wrote my nemesis the scathing email I had always fantasized about sending, using the evidence I’d compiled, and hit send.
