We had some questions asked on the interest check, and we'll be answering them on this post that will be updated as we get more of them! You can also ask us questions on Neospring!
Saying you're proship but banning a lot of ships is a bit weird, don't you think? I will definitely lose interest if you keep the setting like that.
Hello! We are unsure as to where it has been said that there are banned ships, as in our Carrd it states that 'all characters and of-age/aged-up pairings will be allowed'. If a piece has NSFW or Dead Dove content goes, we understand that the pairings that would mainly fall under this umbrella are incestuous relationships and those that are between adults and minors. We have decided to not allow this content in the main SFW zine, as there are many countries that will not allow items with NSFW/DD content to be shipped to them.
When we say we are proship, we mean that everyone has the right to ship who/what they want because we're referring to fiction. Unless a creator actively makes hate/harassment posts or pieces, no other pieces will be considered to affect an applicant's standing outside of the ones submitted for the portfolio. All of the mods on the project are also proship, and regardless of what characters the ship is of, we ask that it be SFW/aged up for the zine for country & shipping regulations.
Will the inclusivity be extended to the contributors and feature mainly lgbtq+ people?
Yes! We will mainly showcase other LGBTQIA+ creators, though we will not be barring anyone from applying to the zine so long as they are 18+ and adhere to our guidelines!
Not a question but even if i don't know any charities, i'd like for it to be not only us-based, because i feel like charity zines focus too much on us-only charities.
Absolutely! We'd love to donate to an international queer-supporting charity/non-profit, which is why we requested for international groups first in the interest check. We understand that queerness does not end or begin in the United States or any other country, and we want to have the opportunity to support other queer people around the globe.
Are you expecting there to be any leftover sales?
We hope so! Should the project be physical, we plan on ordering more than anticipated to ensure that there are enough A-grade products to go around for those that pre-order the zine (as items can be damaged in shipping, printed a little incorrectly, etc.).
However, this depends entirely on how much product we have left. Since the goal is to give as much as we can to charity, we hope to provide our contributors with A-grade bundles and then the rest of the profits will be donated expressly once we finish leftovers and get everything shipped out. If there are more pieces than normal that are only slightly damaged or not quite high quality enough to sell as leftovers, the moderators will discuss how they will distribute these items when we grade them before shipping!
