I totally love the volunteering idea! Zinnia def is the sort of person that has like, food drives and charity events at her comic shop like ALL THE TIME, so Iām sure if Peter like noticed her, idk, flyer for a Thanksgiving Comic-Read-A-Thon to support the local food pantry and homeless shelter and so stopped by and dropped off some blankets/clothes/food/etc one day at her shop, Zinnia would have been like:Ā āOMG THANK YOU! YOU ARE SUCH A GREAT HELP! PEOPLE WILL BE SO GRATEFUL! YOUāRE FANTASTIC, PLEASE TAKE A COOKIE!ā before going back to reading a comic book out loud to a bunch of kids gathered around her. And I could see that possibly charming Peter so he like, idk, kept coming back and helping out and it started becoming like a ~thing~ with them and became a flirtation and eventually a cute relationship!!!!
And yea, Iām definitely here for the breakup being some sort of misunderstanding, especially bc Zinnia is like, still pining after Peter and like!!!! New Rules by Dua Lipa is her LIFE THEME now after their breakup.
So like, I think she has a lot of unresolved feelings and thoughts about the whole thing, so maybe likeā¦ Peter THOUGHT he clearly broke up with Zinnia, but she thought they were on, like, just a bit of a pause? Until she saw him with someone else and he like, stopped returning her calls/texts as quickly as he used to? And so suddenly she was like:Ā āohā¦. oh, I guessā¦ I guess we broke up??????ā
And like, because itās all unresolved on her side, I agree that one: itās probably been at least like a year/year and a half since they broke up, and two: theyāre friendly, but Zinnia is likeā¦. much more reserved around him than she was even before they were dating, which is kinda against her nature?
Idk, thoughts???? Iām so excite about them tbh. I canāt handle it.

ANYWAY aldkjflasjflasdjflj that would have toTALLY charmed him!!!!! Also, I feel like heās not used to people who donāt know him that well taking a liking to him that quickly???? And just thinking heās this great person???? And I think that would also help to fuel his attraction??? Like just the fact that she can tell his heart is in the right place, because thatās often something he has a hard time trying to convey lmaoĀ
alksdjflkajflkajf UGH omg!!!!! Thatās so awful!!!!!!! (I LOVE IT!!!!) So I can see Peter basically breaking up with her and doing it in this very weird and cryptic way b/c heās not great with words or emotions and thinking they are on the same page, but they are toTALLY NOT!!!!!!!!!!! And like, as far as why he broke up with her in the first place, it honestly might have been because he was suddenly starting to have feelings for bLYTHE out of nO WHERE and that probably really disarmed him but also made him feel guilty to have feelings for someone while he was with someone else which probably only added to the weird way in which he broke up with her haha and he 100%% didnāt tell her he had feelings for someone else, so the reasoning behind it wasnāt even that clear, which probably also helped her to believe that this was just a temporary thing???? like I feel like he probably vaguely brought up that he was really busy right now as though that was enough to end a relationship haha and god heās such a mess iām so sorry!!!!!
Also, I feel like he thought he was probably breaking up with her in the best way possible ??? And if he was just more honest with her she might not have all of this complicated unresolved feelings if she had gotten more closure/understood that things were over instead of this weird in between and then sudden end and #facepalm iām so sorry about him!!!!!!Ā
