Dressed for success! Wearable armor by Artist/activist Linda Stein Wonder Woman is a prevalent motif that Stein has incorporated into her work. The particular significance of her frequent use of Wonder Woman in her piece is because Wonder Woman was the first widely recognized female superhero in a genre which was previously dominated by male characters. Most important to Stein's message, however, is that she fought for equality but did so without killing anybody. She is a female protector who fights for the rights of both men and women alike

What an honor to work with Dan Makara and Joy Pereths of Essential Media to market his movie Irwin, A NY Story. A loving portrait of the sometimes irascible, sometimes charming but always engaging Irwin Hasen. Irwin is now 95 years old. He is one of our surviving witnesses to the rough and tumble of the Golden Age of Comics. Irwin was creator of Dondi and other notable icons from the glory days.

A college professor challenged my request to learn more than the 3 women directors and he asked me WHY. I was horrified that I had to EXPLAIN i needed to know more than Ida Lupino, Maya Deren and Mary PIckford could be my role models. He smirked and told me to consider another goal in the business. So it was that in 1994 with the passion to learn more about our legacy as women in film and to preserve it I brought an idea to the Board of NY Women in Film. Together we founded the Women's Film Preservation Fund. Today we have, save, preserved, restored more than 100 films in which women played a key creative role.
