EPISODE  # 1     𝚃𝙷𝙴  𝙶𝚁𝙴𝙰𝚃  𝙶𝙾𝙾𝙳  𝙿𝙻𝙰𝙲𝙴.

to  truly  love  another  person  is  to  accept  that  the  work  of  loving  them  is  worth  the  pain  of  losing  them.

look,  i  love  a  good  ghost  story,  i  just  don’t  want  to  sleep  in  one.

i  have  a  story.

don’t  call  on  me ...   unless  it’s  an  emergency.   i’m  extraordinarily  busy.

i’m  a  lot  braver  than  people  think.

just  promise  me  that  when  you’re  keeping  us  all  safe,  you  keep  yourself  safe  first.

well,  i  forgive  you,  but  i’m  afraid  i  don’t  believe  you.

i  don’t  like  the  cellar.   it’s  perfectly  dreadful  down  there.

you're  in  none  of  this  alone. 

death  is  something  to  mourn,  not  fear.

why  do  the  bad  ones  get  to  come  back  and  not  them ?

i'm  sorry  i  didn't  do  worse.

every  time  i  see  you  marching  towards  the  house,  i  find  my  hand  drifting  towards  the  mop.

EPISODE  # 3     𝚃𝙷𝙴  𝚃𝚆𝙾  𝙵𝙰𝙲𝙴𝚂,  𝙿𝙰𝚁𝚃  𝙾𝙽𝙴

how  about  we  stay  here  tonight ?   just  in  case.

he  might  not  know  she’s  dead.

the  wrong  kind  of  love  can  fuck  you  up.

people  do,  don’t  they ?   mix  up  love  &  possession.

you’re  gonna  spend  the  rest  of  the  day  in  bed.

let  me  show  you  just  how  beautiful  you  are.  

i’m  so  sorry.

she haunts him. owen knows that hannah would have wanted him to find closure, to move on, but his heart still aches at her memory. owen misses her in subtle ways : he’ll be stirring cake batter and turn around with a spoonful of batter lifted from the bowl only to find there’s no one there to hand it to. he’ll ask the open air whether this newest recipe needs more salt or more butter. he’ll crack an egg as well as a terrible joke, and the smile will slip off of his face as a cold feeling blossoms in the pit of his stomach when there’s no exasperated response.  so clearly he remembers the days before she left him. though trapped between life and death, she felt so real to him, so alive. hardly spectral or ghostly was her laugh, her smile, her head gently resting on his shoulder — a dream that wasn’t a dream at all. 

what a life we could have had.

 “ i have, flora. ” his reply is more muted than he intends, betraying his true feelings. owen forces the sorrow, the grief, from his eyes and his voice. he gives a brief, slight smile. he’s happy to see flora again, but there’s something about the way she speaks that knits owen’s brow with concern. “ why? ‘re you having nightmares? ”

     ❛      i  wouldn’t  call  them  nightmares.      ❜     flora  isn’t  as  oblivious  as  she  once  was  when  she  was  younger.   she  can  pick  up  on  cues,  on  moments  where  there’s  a  flicker  of  sadness  or  a  hint  of  regret  plastered  across  another’s  features.   she’s  gotten  very  good  at  reading  a  room,  even  if  her  mind  wanders  every  so  often.   she’s  not  all  there,  her  father  would  murmur  to  eyes  that  stared  at  the  young  wingrave’s  far - off  gazes.   and  she  wasn’t.   a  very  crucial  part  of  her,  a  part  that  still  remained  trapped  among  the  grounds  of  bly   –––   that  part  was  missing.   it’s  a  feeling  she  could  only  imagine  owen  felt  at  the  thought  of  hannah.   she  didn’t  know  much,  but  she  knew  them.

     for  a  nightmare  to  be  ...  well,  just  that,  it’d  have  to  be  filled  with  unpleasantries,  but  it  wasn’t  all  bad.   there’s  hesitation  before  she  speaks  again.     ❛      they’re  dreams  ...  or  memories  that  are  perfectly  –––      ❜     she  cuts  herself  off,  the  word  dreadful  hanging  on  the  tip  of  her  tongue  as  flora’s  brain  continues  to  process  the  horrors  of  the  picture  show  it’d  been  presented  during  her  slumber.     ❛      they  were  about  bly.     ❜

          ❛   nothing !   ❜     she’s  almost  offended  at  how  he  thought  he  could  get  away  with  telling  such  foolish  lies.     ❛   miles,  you  absolute  joker.   tell  me  what  really  happened.   ❜     flora’s  gaze  doesn’t  stray  from  the  injury,  soft  eyes  shockingly  incapable  of  healing  on  the  spot.   she  fears  he  may  be  channeling  his  younger  self,  even  if  it’s  momentarily,  &  there’s  nothing  she  could  do  to  stop  it.   adults,  they  are !   there’s  been  discourse  within  the  walls  of  her  own  skull,  an  internal  war  over  whether  they’d  grown  up  too  fast  or  just  not  at  all.   then  again,  in  flora’s  mind,  she  was  also  unaware  of  what  could  have  possibly  sped  their  childhood  up.   they  were  normal,  weren’t  they ?
