He would be where she had left him, sitting at the desk. The only sign of him having actually moved was the way he had changed in his posture, leaning back and head lightly tipped in a way that revealed his eyes had closed. A power nap, it seemed, though his head came upright and covered his eyes as they opened.
Undertaker didn’t move until she approached the desk, and a clawed hand reaching out for the box.
“It will be safe,” he seemed to hum; words bereft of the warble. A soothing tone, comforting – hypnotically so. “I promise you, m’lady.”
when she arrived, she stared at him. his hand reached out for the box. she held it tightly to her person as she stared down at him. cold and emptiness filled her eyes. never had she let anyone touch this box. at least, not anyone who would live to tell about it. her eyes narrowed to him, but a smile so fake formed on her face.❝regardless of what lies or truths you might speak, if something should happen to what is in this box...you have been warned.❞ she said straight forward. his promise was empty to her and meant nothing. she had seen people promise lies through their teeth as if it was as simple as breathing. her hands were tight around the box as she brought it forward towards his hand. it was soon placed there, but before she would let go she would stare at him, taking in every detail about him. everything he looked like, so if needed, she would find him, no matter what should something happen.❝you are the only person i have willingly handed this too. do not make it so you will regret this.❞ she stated before finally letting go, to make absolute clarity that he would not be in a good situation should anything happen to it.
