I love Wayne’s World. I swear the amount of love I have for this movie and this entire comedy franchise could never fit into one short box of text

since it’s my hyperfixation it’s quite literally one of the only reasons I get up in the morning. at times I feel kinda pathetic about how attached I am to this stupid movie about these two goobers goofing around doing random sh t haha, but I mean it makes me happy so who cares amirite?

I first discovered Wayne’s World thru its SNL sketches. I think it was a year ago, I had my tv on this weird comedy channel that was just playing a whole bunch of old SNL episodes from the 90s or something, and I was watching it out of boredom, and they played a Wayne’s World sketch and so that was my first experience with ww ever

I don’t know what it was, but like the first time I saw them…..idk something about wayne and garth’s personalities was really charming to me. I discovered the two movie spinoffs later and my hyperfixation only got worse from there so to speak ;^;

Garth was my favorite right off the bat. I know he canonically has ADHD and shows a lot of symptoms of autism and as somebody who falls somewhere under the broad umbrella of neurodivergence (I suspect it’s autism, I’m not diagnosed but I’ve been showing a lot of the symptoms since I was young) I’m always getting a lot of sh t for not being able to act “normal” or do anything right, so ig seeing someone who acts just like me, even if it’s just a fictional character, being loved and accepted for who they are with a bunch of friends, it gives me some sort of hope that I’ll find someone like that in my life or something, I dunno

okay this is a very cool and very badass Garth Algar costume redesign I came up with over the past few days and uhhhhh yeah this is probably how I’m gonna draw him from now on

I’m mainly in love with his helmet from the “we fear change” scene in the movie, the first time I saw it on his head I KNEW it would make a perfect accessory for a character redesign

I was initially planning on making this a lil animation compilation, but I HATE animating because I’m a slow drawer—it takes me ONE WHOLE DAY for something as small as a SIMPLE ANIMATIC so I just gave up and tweened PNG cutouts of all the characters because it’s ten times faster

HELLO TUMBLR!!!! I’m really excited today because I JUST WROTE MY FIRST WAYNE’S WORLD FIC OVER ON MY FRESH NEW AO3 ACC!!! HELL YEAH!!!

it’s called “Lamps” (you’ll find out why when you read the whole thing) and basically it’s just a little one shot I wrote about the modern versions Wayne and Garth. In the late days of June I had a fic idea about the aftermath of Wayne coming out to his family/friends and stuff, and 1 month later here we are 😵‍💫

yes, it is a little angsty. One thing about me is that it’s just easier for me to write sad stuff, especially if that’s all that’s running thru my head at the time. I liked writing angst a lot back then because I find it really easy to express my emotions through characters/roleplay

BUT……this fic does have a hopeful ending, so it’s not all tragedy, so to speak, haha. but hear me out……I COULD give yall a happier, fluffier snarestrings fic if yall want. just need to know if I’m actually a good writer first, XD

last night I had a weird dream that I was in this alternate universe, where not only did Austin Powers have a 3 movie trilogy, it also had an entire 5 part book series spinoff as well as a 3D platformer adventure game developed by Ubisoft

it was in this same dream that I was sitting in a middle school cafeteria and this random girl who was obviously hyperfixated on the franchise asked to sit next to me and then started talking about the lore of the whole franchise in elaborate detail, everything from the book series to the games. I also remember she had this shirt on that said “AUSTIN POWERS FOR PRESIDENT 2016” and she was wearing my little pony sneakers for some reason

AYYYYY IT’S CITY LIMITS WAYNE!!!! yeah I’ve seen this video before, maybe 3 months ago or something? It still baffles me how different Wayne’s character used to be back in his early development days (his hair is so pretty…. (╥﹏╥) ) but for the most part he seems to act the same way he does in his more modern adaptations.

lots of lore about his character here, he says that Chris (the guy at 0:48, I’m assuming he’s the host of this show or something? idk bro I ain’t got time to research allat rn 😭) is his cousin, he had a band named “Bloodjun” during this time, and he reveals at 2:52 that he knows how to play the drums, in addition to learning guitar. he also has a girlfriend named Nancy during this time aswell.

personally my favorite part is when Wayne was screwing around with all the buttons in the control panel at 6:37, idk what it is I just found it funny how easily amused he was messing with the control panel lmao

I’ve had this theory in my head for a LONG time now, and i think I’ve amassed enough evidence that i can confidently say this: i have a theory that garth algar has a thing for violence and is probably smart enough to kill somebody if he was pushed far enough

hear me out here—i mean he dropped a lot of hints at being into like, gore/violent movies and TV shows and stuff???? like in that one Wayne’s World SNL sketch he went all crazy talking about sum “mental squirrels biting people’s faces off” (1st video) and in the contract scene from the first WW movie he told us about a Twilight Zone episode where someone’s tongue got cut off and turned into its own reproducing organism which he thought was “pretty cool” (2nd video) so he definitely has an interest for that kinda stuff

Garth: ”They should’ve made it- like- y’know “Dances with Squirrels” with like, mental squirrels biting people’s faces off! WAAAAHHHHGGHHHHH!”

remembered that I was an unemployed bum so I spent a half hour trying to find the names of all wayne & garth’s friends/the side characters from the movies

I know they’re just minor characters and their whole purpose is to further wayne & garth’s plot but RAAAAAH I love them as much as i love wayne+garth as well ;-;

there is barely any info about them given in canon, but that’s also a good thing because if ur writing a fanfic you don’t gotta worry about mischaracterizing them (heheh…i of all people should know……foreshadowing???!?)
