Science fiction story:
My name is David, and I am a scientist. It is the year 2046 and the world has gone through a catastrophic process of drought. First, the temperature began to rise, reaching extreme heat which caused the rivers to dry faster, then it stopped raining for long periods which caused the sea to begin to lower its water levels which at the end resulted in wars for the fight for water. Governments tried to calm down the population, but the world was running out of resources, so the U.N. hired me and my colleagues Elkin and Meiling to create a time machine with the help of our robots and travel back in time to prevent this disaster.
After several tests, we were able to finish the time machine thanks to our robots and our talking dog Paco, so we go back to 1980 to avoid this disgrace and to raise awareness of the dangers of water wastage. When we got to the past I said, “We had to call around all the presidents of the main world powers to find out the causes of the catastrophe”, already at the meeting Elkin explained our situation and said, “we need your help now because in the future we will have no water to drink.” Then, we discovered that we were the guilty ones for the disappearance of the water since human beings are the cause of global warming, which will consequently dry up the seas. Even though the damage had already started, we did not give up and Meiling proposed that every 6 months the rivers and oceans be cleaned massively so that when the world reaches 2046 the water does not disappear. In addition, she said “it is necessary to give talks with reflective videos to kindergartens so that children grow up with the mentality of taking care of the planet and recycling materials that can be reused”.
Finally, our robots came looking for us to return to the present. When we arrived, our dog Paco shouted with emotion and told us "You are heroes, finally we have water". We realized that the world had changed since the water had returned. Furthermore, people have also changed since the new generations grew up with a no-pollution mentality and we learned that if we are all willing to help, we can save our source of life which is water.
