At least the river is same as old,
When the wind is still and the fire cold
Your presence is a relief, truth be told,
But even the fierce river is silent, less bold
I wonder if this world is damned,
We all suffer by somebodyâs hand
Why can nothing go as planned?
Why have my friends broken their band?
I think the blame may fall on me,
And for that, to you all, I truly am sorry
~ đ
[Azure just stared at the letter. He wasnât about to reply verbally, anyway.]
(I think weâre the ones who need to apologize.)
(Are we really? We did nothing.)
(What does the wind being still mean though? And the fire cold?)
(Maybe it refers to our siblings. Vio is wind, and Scarlet fire.)
(We still havenât found Vio.)
(I know.)
(If this world is damned, then maybe itâs our job to save it?)
(Thatâs one way to interpret itâŚ)
(Well⌠Iâm glad weâve heard from this person again.)
(Same.)
[With a sigh, Azure put the letter away. At least someone he knew seemed to be doing well.]
After some time, Scarlet ended up in Blueâs room.
As Arn had said earlier, he was reading s book, although it was hard to tell what it was. He seemed pretty absorbed in his task, not even looking up when she entered.
At the very least, he looked calmer. Not as panicked and depressed as when Scarlet had found him.
-@blueofthefoursword
*Scarlet walks in a wide circle around Blue to get in front of them and stands there till they notice she was there. She knew better than to touch Blue before that*
(shortened)
*Arn paused, then knelt down* It's okay... What did you want to ask me? Or Scarlet? Where's your pad and pen... Do you want those?
(He nodded, making sure to stay awfully silent.)
*Arn slowly got up, keeping his hands in the air as he walked towards the discarded notebook and picked it up and held it, and the pencil (tip facing him) towards Azure. He knew that his kid wouldn't speak again today, but just that one word was a great start*
Here you are... And remember, you deserve to be heard...
Do you, want me to leave yet, or is this question for me?
(He kept an eye on Arn the whole time, taking the pencil quickly.)
Thank you. This question isnât for you, so leave.
Okay. I'm sorry. I'll be downstairs.
*he ignores the pain in his chest as he turns and leaves. Aruna reaches out for him, confused and mad that Azure is pushing him away*
Is anything broken, Aruna? Are you alright?
*they pout and turn away from Azure, signing "fine" gruffly*
Good.
(He frowned, poking Aruna.)
Why are you upset? He offered to leave, if itâs about dad.
*'I want dad stay.'*
*they frown*
No. Dadâs not safe. I donât want him to hurt you.
*they frown*
*'(Dad) learning! Better now! Mean not! Save (you and me)'*
He attempted to exorcise me! He is unsafe!
(He stared at his writing for a bit, before scribbling it out. Scarlet was still able to read it before that though.)
*they let out a soft choked noise, then stared at the door before looking back at Azure*
But, he just promised he wouldn't. He just promised he'd keep us safe. He just saved us and kicked Grandpa out for wanting to do that! Why would he try to *they stop writing before changing their sentence* When did he? Before he understood? Doesn't that mean he's fixing himself? He doesn't act like he's going to do it again.
*another pause*
I don't mean to downplay what you went through, it must've hurt a lot, but he is trying to change. At least he seems to be. Can't you try to give him that? I mean, he called me a girl, his daughter for Hylia's sake. Before, he never ever would have, not with such honesty or conviction.
...
I'm sorry. I'm being dumb and mean again. I'm not Vio. I'm not Green. I don't know how to fix this or what to say. I'll just go to bed.
*then they drop the pen numbly and walk away to their bed and curl up*
I donât remember when he did. It was before my first encounter with⌠well, you know whom. He acted better when we met after you did whoever you did with those guys, but I just canât trust him. Imm glad he called you a girl though.
Itâs ok. You werenât trying to be.
(He left the paper where Svarlet could read, then laid down on his bed. He hadnât left it at all today.)
*the next morning, when they all woke, Scarlet's bed was empty. There was no sign she'd even slept in it*
*then Arn ran in, looking disheveled and terrified, clutching a note* Scarlet- *he sees her empty bed and his eyes go wide, tears welling up*
F[redacted]... That son of a mother f[redacted]ing b[redacted] shapes pig...
*he looks to Blue* Please... Tell me you heard something... Saw anything...? No, who am I kidding...
We have to get to town, now. Before it's too late.
Wha happened?
(Azure was already up, doing what he could to get ready without getting out of bed.)

(He noticed her, startling. After a moment to collect himself, he gestured for her to wai, before taking out a notebook and writing.)
Hey Scarlet. Are you ok? Itâs been ages since Iâd last seen you, and K was getting worried. I hope thatâŚ
(His eyes trialed down to the missing prosthetic.)
âŚah. Iâm sorry that happened. Losing a leg is painful⌠has adjusting been alright?
(He is wording made him seem a bit like Olive.!
*she gently takes the notebook and pencil*
Hey, Olive? Yeah, the leg was... Hard. Dad says the prosthetic is bad, so I get to go see Ruhi to get a good one. I don't really remember losing it though. I think I was unconscious when they cut it off.
Other than that, I think I'm good. I went to war.
(He was surprised by her doing it, but let her. He took the notebook and pencil back after reading.)
Olive. That prosthetic does look bad, comparing it to Greenâs for his arm, but Iâm sure Ruhi can do it.
Iâm glad you were unconscious. Being conscious for it is⌠not the best experience.
(He stared at the paper for a moment, before shaking his head.)
(He stared at you, then the paper, and then you again.)
You went to what? Oh my gosh⌠ar you ok? What happened? Which era was it? J swear, if anyone there seriously hurt youâŚ
(Seems like all of Blue was a bit protective.)
*she shrunk away and looked at the floor. She didn't write anything, but it was obvious by her reaction someone had seriously hurt her*
Right⌠well, are you doing better? Can I examine you to make sure youâre fine? Do you know who did it?
*she starts hastily writing*
I'm fine, everything is fine, you don't need to examine me, she's been dealt with it's fine
If youâre sure.
Has anything been on your mind lately though? Are you recovering well from that?
*her hand shakes over the pad before she glaces at the door and begins to write*
I feel... Disconnected from my identity. I thought being trans was the fix to it all but, now I don't know. Am I really a girl or am I just trying to fix something inside me? I don't know what to do, Olive. I feel so broken and used. I feel like a doll that's been cast aside after playtime is over and now that I don't have something to save or do, I am nothing.
What do you mean, disconnected from your identity? Disconnected how? Is it like⌠the âyouâ you know doesnât feel like itâs actual you, but instead someone else? I experience that a lot. Mainly with the others or with âBlueâ as a whole.
Youâre not broken though. Nor are you some doll for others to play with. I must be one too, then, if thatâs true. I promise that youâre something to me, ok?
Do you want to try and figure this out?
*she scrubs her face and nods*
Alright. Well⌠do you have any identity you do feel connected to? Do you have any experiences similar to the identity disconnect? Do yoh know what triggered it?
*Scarlet looks... Confused. She doesn't know how to answer and ends up curling up in a sad little ball*
He reached out to poke her gently.
Sorry. Where do you want to start?
*tears well in her eyes as she shakily signs*
*'I who? Want know I who.'*
You want to know who you are? Ok, umâŚ
Do you want me to give you nae suggestions? Any specific kind of name you want?
*she stares at her feet, or well foot. Did she deserve a name? Did she deserve to be seen as human after what she'd done?*
Scarlet? Was that too much? Do you want to do something else to help you figure out who you are?
*she shrugs, then looks at the paper*
I think Matilda, Bruce, Jenny, Agatha, and Nigel are good names, if it helps.
*She makes a little bit of a face at them. Nothing really stuck, or felt right*
So none of those⌠any idea of what could feel right?
*she pauses, thinking*
Amber? Or maybe Blaze? Aruna? Russet?
Those are all pretty names. Any of them stand out?
*she looks down, then taps "Aruna" before staring at you, then writing*
Is it okay if I don't feel like a girl...? Am I not trans anymore?
Aruna, huh? Thatâs a pretty name. Iâm glad itâs yours, Aruna.
(He nodded.)
It is. You could be genderfluid or something, though, not necessarily cis. How do you feel when you think about your time spent as a girl? Is it like how I feel when thinking about Lavender, where I canât imagine it, or I understand, but the feelings just donât click? Or something else?
*(?) thinks, then writes again*
It feels like me, but not me. Like everything that happened was someone else's memories, even though my body remembers the same. It's like looking through a foggy glass. I just feel disconnected to it. I feel... more like...
*(?) takes a pause*
Like, my pronouns should be they/them or something.
I feel that way when I think about what the others did. Is there anything else that accompanies that?
They/them? Ok, I can do that.
What do you mean by 'accompanies'?
*they lean into your side*
(The recoiled a bit, but relaxed somewhat after a moment.)
As in, does anything show up alongside the amnesi?
Amnesia? It's not really amnesia. At least it doesn't feel like it. I remember everything it just remembers like a window rather than an experience.
Iâve heard that called emotional amnesia.
Does it feel like youâre not alone?
Kinda? Yes but no? I don't know, this is dumb, I bet it's nothing and I'm just making things up for more attention.
What do you mean by âyes but also noâ?
(He actually scoffed when he read that.)
Making it up for attention? Youâre the last person whoâd do that. Besides, youâd tell grandpa about this if you were doing that, since you only want attention.
I donât think itâs nothing.
*they look up at you and sniffles, then hugs Olive. They were tired and confused and didn't know what to do. They really were the baby everyone seemed to treat them as. Maybe they should just go back to that and everything would go back to normal and bad stuff would stop happening. It must've been their fault all this happened, they strayed from the normal, they fought back against being the baby and now everyone is having bad stuff happening to them and it's all their fault*
(He flinched for a moment, obviously panicked, but after a few seconds, settled and was able to calm himself and enough to hug back.)
(He wasnât about to speak, but he wished that he would, just to try and reassure Aruna.)
*that, unfortunately, is when their grandfather came in. He saw Aruna hugging Olive and wrenched them back*
Don't you touch that freak! And you, what were you doing!? Are you trying to get your brother possessed as well!? Why do you still have a room!? You should be in a closet until these demons are gone!
*Aruna covers their ears and crouches down, shaking from the yelling*
(Again, Olive flinched, freezing up for a moment before he forced himself to calm down.)
For one, theyâre not my brother. Theyâre my sister. Theyâre my wonderful sister, and you better respect that.
As for what I was doing, I was trying to comfort them. They were upset about something.
(He wasnât about to tell their grandpa about Arunaâs identity crisis. Tha was an invasion of privacy.)
(He just stared at the ground for the bit about demons though. He didnât want to respond. Especially when he knew the consequences for lying about that.)
*he snarls and glares down at Aruna*
You! What is all this nonsense about being a girl!? You don't go to this- this *thing* for comfort! He's dangerous!
*he sighs* It's a good thing I've been looking at conversion camps. I *knew* I needed one for someone here.
*he glares around the room as Aruna becomes terrified before their grandfather sees the other handwriting on the notebook, then glares back at Blue* You- you've got your *brother* possessed!?
*he looks back at Aruna and shoves them back* We outta lock the both of you up for this!
*then the door opened. Arn walked in with Clock behind him, he freezes at the scene. Obviously he was just as scared of his dad as his kids were*
...dad? What- what are you doing? What's happening in here?
This freak- *he points to Blue* Has infected your son and has got him thinking he can be a girl! And now he's also demon possessed!
*Arn looks at Aruna, sees the fear she has, then looks back at his dad* What are you talking about? Nothing is wrong with my *daughter*.
Oh so you're playing into it now!?
Playing- this isn't a game dad...!
We need the priest here, now! An exorcism is in order for both of your sons!
*Arn goes silent before he sees his kids, then something in him snaps. He steps forward and in front of Blue after gently pulling Aruna behind him* No.
No? What-
I mean no! Dad! They aren't possessed! They are freaks! My daughter is allowed to be who she wants! And if she wants to be a girl then that's fine with me! What isn't fine is their grandfather throwing them around like ragdolls and treating them like he hates them! That is unacceptable and- and because of it you are not welcome in this house!
*their grandfather laughs* I own the deed, I pay for this place!
Not anymore! *He shouts back, standing surer* The deed was transferred to me when you transferred your business over to me after you retired! Now get your shit and get out! I will not let you torment my kids because of your old fashioned bigoted ideas about how the mind works!
*the room goes silent before their grandfather scoffs and leaves the room, leaving Arn panting and shaking. He didn't want his kids to see that he was terrified in this moment and just kneeled down and turned to them* Are you both alright...?
(Azure just backed away from Arn. A no, then.)
Aruna, are you ok? Iâm sorry I didnât help you more.
*they shake their head*
I'm so sorry kids... I-... *He chokes up, then holds out his hands for them to take* You're not monsters or freaks or anything he told you... You're perfect and wonderful and I love you both so much... I won't ever, *ever* let him near either of you again. I promise.
(Azure looked saddened by Arunaâs reply.)
(Their dadâs talking only earned a nod from Azure, who refused to take his hand.)
(Arn was lying anyway. Heâd let them get hurt again and again and again and again and againâ)
(Meanwhile, Clock made it a point to hug Aruna.)
Iâm sorry. So sorry I wasnât there. Are you hurt? Youâre not going to try anything, rightâŚ?
*Aruna pulls away to crawl into Arn's arms, tearing up*
*Arn just hugs them and when he talks, Blue can't tell if it was directed to all of the kids or to himself* ...I'm so sorry... You were never supposed to be hurt like this... I promised myself I'd never become him...! What have I done...!?
(She just watched as Aruna did that, then realizedâŚ)
Is this a pattern?
(Clock seemed as mad as she could be, with her numbness.)
I think so.
Can I fight him?
F-fight? Oh no no no no...! You could get hurt...!
*he smiles shakily* I'd rather you three stay in here... Where it's... Safe...
*he trails off, then looks to Blue* ...at least... It used to be...
*then Arn gets up, carrying Aruna who has refused to let go and looks out the window* ...Blue... Um... The house should be done tomorrow. We just need to add in the protection enchantments... Would you... Like me to help you move in? Or would you rather your sister and her- hm?
*he looks down at Aruna who sighs "T-H-E-Y" and he nods, looking back at Blue* Okay, would you rather your sister and *their* friend to help you?
*then he looks back at Aruna* Did I say that right?
*she nods and he smiles* Good...
I just got back from a war. I think I can handle myself⌠please, Scarlet, can I fight him?
(Azure shook his head.)
I want them to help. Not you. You stay far away.
(He seemed scared still. Probably from the remarks about him being a demon.-possessed freak.)
(Cloc seemed to have a realization though.)
Hey, Scarlet? Was he calling people like me demonically possessed? Am I a freak too
*Scarlet tears up and shakes her head, and Arn nods solemnly to Blue's remark*
Okay... Listen everyone, my father is... An a[redacted]. He really is. He doesn't understand and refuses to understand.
Whatever he was talking about, it isn't true, I promise. And Blue? I promise I won't come near the move in at all. I love you, kiddo.
The kids in Kokiri Forest act the same though. So he has to be right.
(Azure just nodded, only relaxing slightly.)
Thank you.
(Clock walked up to Aruna, poking them.)
Can I make sure you arenât hurt? Or hug you?
Wh-what? No, no they aren't right about that....
I'm sorry you grew up with that, kiddo...
*Aruna slowly crawls out of her father's arms and hugs Clock*
They were justified. I was a non-Kokiri, andâŚ
(She started when hugged, getting herself off, but hugged back tightly.)
*Arn shakes his head* Clock, bullying is *never* justified.
I donât think it was that bad. Scarlet can confirm. Sheâs seen the Kokiri talk to me.
Speaking of which⌠Scarlet, would it be too cruel of me to say that I think your grandpa should go to the Lost Woods?
(She pulled away from the hug, staring at Scarlet in confusion.)
*she frowns*
*'(List) 1, bad much. Talk you, bad talk, same? Bad. No. (List) 2, My grandfather? (Grandfather) needs to go to L-O-S-T W-O-O-D-S.'*
Youâre exaggerating. They didnât talk about me that badly.
Iâm glad weâre in agreement though.
*'Lies.'* *they sign about the first part before stumbling over to Azure and ending up falling again, because of the prosthetic, and into Azure*
O-oh Hylia! Are you both alright!? *Arn doesn't get close, but he is watching carefully to check for any damage or tears*
(Azure fel over, clearly surprised. He steadied Aruna after a bit though.)
(He nodded. He was fine. He was definitely fine.)
Isâ
(He began speaking, but decided to shut up immediately, looking scared.)
She knew better than to touch Blue before that*
(He noticed her, startling.

After some time, Scarlet ended up in Blueâs room.
As Arn had said earlier, he was reading s book, although it was hard to tell what it was. He seemed pretty absorbed in his task, not even looking up when she entered.
At the very least, he looked calmer. Not as panicked and depressed as when Scarlet had found him.
-@blueofthefoursword
*Scarlet walks in a wide circle around Blue to get in front of them and stands there till they notice she was there. She knew better than to touch Blue before that*
(He noticed her, startling.
If youâre sure.
