1957 looked at Bauhaus and said: primary colors, womb chairs, chrome everything.

then it looked out the window and said: monorail. observation domes on stilts. towers so tall they don't need names.

then it sat down in the orange chair and decided the future was going to be fine, actually. better than fine. the future was going to have excellent furniture and a view.

Currently mourning a decade I barely visited. 🌻

​Give me an orange bus, and a total lack of GPS. The 60s and 70s were just... softer. Everything had a texture, and every sunset felt like it was meant just for you.

there was something special about 1950s diners…

the soft glow of neon lights

the hum of a jukebox in the corner

vinyl spinning while time slowed down

milkshakes with whipped cream and cherries

checkered floors and cherry-red booths

late nights that felt like they could last forever

no rush. no noise. just simple moments.

sometimes nostalgia isn’t about the past…

there was a time when the future felt soft, glowing, and full of promise 🚀

the 1950s space age wasn’t just about rockets or science—it was about imagination. about families looking up at the night sky and believing that tomorrow would be brighter, bigger, and closer to the stars.

everything felt possible.

the world hadn’t caught up yet… and maybe that’s what made it magical.

tokyo tower. sydney opera house. japanese street market. a teal '57 chevy. flying saucers on a Tuesday. a television showing what time it is on the moon.

retro world didn't pick a city. retro world picked all of them and then added rockets just to be safe.

🎬 Louise Brooks was the youngest member of the Denishawn Dancers at age 15. On a dance tour of Europe in 1925 with friend and fellow actress Barbara Bennett she performed "the Charleston," making her the first woman to perform the dance move in London.

She was “discovered” by Walter Wagner of Paramount Pictures while dancing with the Ziegfeld Follies. At just 19, Brooks signed a five-year contract with the studio and began her silent film career.
