Tell me why I felt like I was just backed into a corner and threatened to perform for my survival. 

This topic fascinates me because of the obvious - I am a woman of color that enjoys craft beer. Unbeknownst to some, it is a very homogenized industry dominated and ruled primarily by straight white men. As women are becoming more active in the beer industry whether it's brewing, selling, or most significantly CONSUMING, there have been conversations about ... well a lot of things tbh. This article points out that there are some really insensitive and juvenile beer names and not just women but racially insensitive. There are some beers that play on words in regards to rape. It's fascinating to me that some folks will claim this is creating a dichotomy/bringing SJW ethics into a fun space. But as someone who consistently looks at things with a social justice lense, I will openly agree a beer called "Date Grape" is extremely in poor taste. Also for context about how significant being a female in the beer industry, there are spaces being created so women can meet up, hang out, and network in the craft beer industry without men. There are debates about how certain brands are marketing their product specifically to women. Is that a crime? No, but from a business perspective it's not a bad idea if executed well and not condescending. Like I said, kind of a fascinating topic for discussion.
