Tempussexual is a sexual orientation under the asexual umbrella. People who identify as tempussexual take a significant amount of time to develop genuine sexual attraction to someone. Tempussexuals have to be around a person and/or think about a person for a significant amount of time before developing sexual attraction.

Tempussexuals can also consider someone sexually attractive, but not feel real sexual attraction to the person until more time has passed where they are thinking and/or around the person they will be sexually attracted to.

In other words, tempussexuals do not feel typical primary sexual attraction, but do not have to have the emotional bond that secondary sexual attraction requires.

Tempussexuality is not the same as demisexuality in that tempussexuals do not have to have an emotional bond with someone before developing sexual attraction.

TLDR: Tempussexuals take a significant amount of time to develop genuine sexual attraction to someone.

I couldn't find an aromantic spectrum flag that quite represented my experience. So I decided to do what gay people on Tumblr have always done: Create my own flag!

This is the tempusromantic flag.

Tempusromantics have to be around a person and/or think about a person for a significant amount of time before developing romantic attraction.

Tempusromantics can also consider someone romantically attractive, but not feel real romantic attraction to the person until more time has passed where they are thinking and/or around the person they will be romantically attracted to.

Regarding my own experiences:

I have only have 2.5 romantic crushes on people in my life, and 3 fictional romantic crushes. For every one of my previous crushes, it has taken me, at the most, years, to slowly develop a crush on someone, and at its quickest, months. However, I have still developed crushes on people I don't actually know. This is the same for my crushes on fictional characters. I consider certain people romantically attractive, but I do not actually FEEL romantic attraction until a significant amount of time around a person where I am thinking about them and they are a presence in my life, whether or not I really know them personally. Romantic attraction takes a long time to creep in for me. Along those lines, I cannot imagine using dating apps because I know I would not be capable of genuinely feeling romantically attracted to people for a while.

I could not find a label that quite described this experience, as it isn't quite demiromanticism. I really hope that this label resonates for at least one person.
