We designed the #CBeebies house exterior for their new on-air ident. Here is the WIP model pre-texturing.
Cartoony animation tip! Animate the character moving around, then duplicate the character (along with the animation) in the same scene, offset some arms/legs/heads... and voila!
Archie! From our latest TV Series #DigbyDragon. Created with ZBrush, Maya, Yeti & Arnold

BZ Summer Internships 2016!
The summer is on its way! That means itβs time to announce the details of the Blue Zoo Animation Internships 2016.
Internships have always been one of the best ways for inexperienced artists to get their first step into the industry, and many past interns at Blue Zoo have transitioned to become full time staff.
So this year we have a range of internship opportunities, across different skillsets and departments.
The internships roles will be working alongside experienced animators and artists, on real projects, so you can gain an invaluable experience and insight into life as an animator.
For all the internship opportunities we have, no formal education or work experience is required, but you are required to demonstrate a genuine love and talent for the craft of making animation or CG art. We want to see evidence of self-motivation, self-learnt skills, and what art/animation you have made in your own time.
You will need a showreel demonstrating your skills in creating CG animation and online portfolio of artwork. The showreel doesnβt need to be long, ideally no longer than a minute - we just want to see your core artistic and creative skills, and attention to detail.
We have four internship opportunities this year, each of which will take place in June/July for 6-8 weeks. The four roles are:
* Generalist Animator/Artist working in our Commercials department
* Character Animator on a children's TV series (2 internships)
* CG Modeller/Texture artist working in our series production department
Who are the internships ideal for? Someone who intensely wants a career in making fun, playful cartoony CG character animation - if you want to do stop motion, hand drawn or VFX animation this probably isnβt for you!
This is a paid internship - applicants will need a valid UK work permit / EU passport.
Position are open for artists to apply to TODAY - you can register on our jobs website, and we will contact the successful applicants in the first week of May. Unfortunately weβre unable to respond to unsuccessful individuals due to the volume of applications - if we had time we would!
Application closing date is 2nd May 2016 - GOOD LUCK!

Death Metal Bunnies! Studio daily doodle by BZ animation director Simone Giampaoloπ€
Introducing the Animation Lunch Club - live from Blue Zoo!
In the studio at Blue Zoo weβre always looking at ways we can reach out to the animation community to help each other hone & perfect our skills.
So we thought a fun way of doing this would be to host a round table discussion and Q&A on the craft of making animation and working in the industry, with a focus on creating cartoony CG animation for TV, which we do a lot of!
But rather than a pre-recorded podcast or YouTube post, we wanted to do something a bit different, where we could really interact with the animation community - a Facebook Live video broadcast!
The first discussion will be broadcast live on Facebook on Monday 11th April at 1.30pm BST, where we will have a bunch of our in-house animation directors discussing how they do their job and on hand to answer any questions. So if you have any questions please email [email protected], or post them on Facebook while the broadcast is live - weβd love to hear from you.
So please join us while you munch on your sandwich this Monday!
