Since in the books, Cobb canonically saves and later works with Malakili, the guy who tamed and took care of Jabba's rancor, I feel like Cobb would know a shit tone about rancors because Malakili kept ranting to him about his precious baby that was unfortunately killed by that jedi.

So what if Cobb, when sleepy, rants back to Din like:

"Did you know rancors are like gooses and fixate on the first person they see?"

And Din's all like: ???

So Din, whenever he visits Tatooine, he brings Cobb something from another planet he has visited...may it be a sweet pastry, chocolate or some exotic fruit Cobb has never seen in his life.

He found it during one of his patrols in the desert, all alone and malnourished and feeling bad for it, he took it in and nursed it back to health. Just that it didnt wanna leave afterwards and Cobb ended up with a new companion.

So the next time Din visits him, he is surprised to find the fluffy creature just following Cobb like a shadow...like a certain green alien does with him.

He can read poorly or he can read but still struggles at times, especially when overstimulated and makes a big effort to conceal this fact from Din and when Din notices the signs and points it out, he gets defensive or aggressive...but eventually accepts help.

He says after knowing Cobb for a day while staring at others who dare to look at Grogu wrong like he wants to kill them.

Oh hell with it and lets it be.

And then years later, when looking for another Mandalorian in Mos Pelgos, he sees that same guy again when Cobb takes off his helmet and gives him a cheeky grin.

Honestly, I would live for a storyline in which Din met Cobb when he was still a slave and met him years later, suddenly wearing Mandalorian armor, being a cheeky bastard and marshal of a whole village.

And both have this deja vu feeling like

That's just straight up canon in my universe now.

Like Din awkwardly trying to correct Grogu...while Cobb just...embraces it lol.

Like...fuck yeah, I'm Mama now!

Din not knowing about this and mindlessly brushing it...and just watching how Cobb becomes very very still at the contact.

Din not asking questions, simply helping distract Cobb and pushing away old memories. Them talking until the morning comes.

Din being the first Cobb tells about his past as slave willingly.

"You were a slave?!"

And Cobb just

His smugness...and mostly the way he seems to be fond of the jawas and his knowledge about how to haggle with these little beasts. Just imagining Din being frustrated as hell when he tries to get back something they stole and Cobb is just like: "Let me handle this, babe!"

Bounty hunter who's always on the run and doesn't stay on any planet longer than he has to x marshal who's very loyal and can't leave his planet because his town needs him.

Maybe I'm just projecting because ive been through this several times but... Cobb would just give Mando the biggest hug once Mando is back on Tatooine and Din would once again realize how strong the other really is because that hug would be able to break his spine. Mumbled "I missed you"s. Them having those soft moments of reunion...until Grogu yeets himself into Cobb's arms because he of course had missed his other dad as well! Cobb not being able to go anywhere without Grogu following while they're on Tatooine. Forehead touches.
